Default Out-of-the-box Christmas Colors?

I'm looking for out of the box colors to use on Christmas cards this year. Give me your favorite combo!

Mine would have to be pink and brown.

I like pinks and greens but today I bought some Paper Salon Holiday/Winter print paper that is light blue, light green and a touch of lavender.

I used light green, pink, red & white last year for some of my cards. They turned out great!

Default new holiday colors?

I simply adore red, pink and green together. Also lime, navy and purple...and silver with navy and white.

I had a SU party on friday night. My demo did some wrapping paper with blue ink and tied it up with the new wide brown grosgrain ribbon. It was really pretty.

I made last year's cards with a family portrait that our 4 yo dd drew as the main image. She used pale lavender and light aqua colored pencils, so those are the colors I used for the cards. Surprisingly, the color combo turned out to be very frosty and wintry. I got a lot of compliments from people who thought they were a refreshing change from more traditional Christmas cards.

I'm using multiple shades of blue because this year, I am making all my christmas cards using the Snowflake set, which my ds gave me last year for a christmas present. Should be interesting...

Last year we did Old Olive, Real Red and Cool Carribean. I only have a small stash of CC so I might have to incorporate Soft Sky.

I think we'll keep doing untraditional color combos until the kids are big enough to make their own ornaments and then we'll go traditional with lots of family treasures.

For years DH and I did blues, white and silver. For the house decor as well as cards. Someone would always comment that they didn't know we were Jewish. Um hello did you notice the card said Merry Christmas. Always made be laugh.

I actually wasn't going to do something untraditional winter/Christmas until I saw the Angel Company catty which has the CHA CHA paper used for a Flamingo Christmas card- it has red, lime green, and purple. Really cute..
and no, not a shameless plug for TAC... but it's the only time I thought of going outside the box.

I like the idea of purely pomegranate and wild wasabi for a different take on the red and green idea as well.. I love the current in colors!

this year my X-mas card colors are Cranberry crisp - I stocked up on the paper - and Always artichoke and blush blossom. I am also going to use Purely Pomagranate and Wild Wasabi on some other ones.

I love the cards in the SU! catty made with soft sky, artichoke, vanilla and pomegramate!
I made my first card for the season and used river rock, vanilla and red. A twist on the traditional, I guess.

This year I'm doing Peaceful Wishes with Cranberry Crisp, True Thyme and Close to Cocoa for the pine cones. The past two years I have used Night of Navy and Whisper White. Very elegant together. Have fun deciding - there are some great combos listed.

One of last night's VSN challenges was to use fall colors on a holiday card so you might enjoy looking through that gallery:

Ooh, I made pretty cards with orchid opulance (not my favorite color to say the least) and hunter green. Very nice looking with shimmery white paper.

I also liked using regalo rose, certainly celery and cool caribbean for a Christmas card (if you don't have cool caribbean, tempting turquoise works great too) Here is what my card looked like: TLC86 CC83 cool snowflakes by stampwithdiane at Splitcoaststampers

Default Holiday color combos

Wrapping paper catalogs (school fundraisers) are showing a lot of pink and green - hot pink, light pink, dark green, lime green.

My personal favorites: light blue, navy blue, bright, rich red, metallic gold, snow white.

BTW, I was up in the night, decided to stamp some green evergreen trees onto gray paper with silver speckles, so they'd be dry this morning. Practiced making "snow" with several of the white inks suggested on another thread.....ended up using the white Uchida Puffy Fabric paint marker - heatgun - GORGEOUS snow!!!! Will try highlighting just a few areas with one of the iridescent whites tonight. Holiday cards, here I come!! sab

Last year I did mellow moss, elegant eggplant, and very vanilla with the City of David set.
This year I'm thinking of Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi, Blue Bayou, and Real Red.

Default Love the Winter Bright SS kit colors

I love the colors in the SU! Winter Bright Simply Scrappin' Kit:
Wild Wasabi, Bashful Blue, Real Red, Pretty in Pink . Not colors I ever would have picked for Christmas myself.
I'm in the process of doing the "60 cards from a Simply Scrappin' Kit" project. At first I wasn't sure about the pink, but now I love it!

I'm thinking that I am going to use pale grey, black and copper this year. I know what I want to do I just haven't sat down and tried yet as I'm not sure if I have the grey that I want.

wow...some great ideas here!! I loved the Bashful Blue, Purely Pomegranate, Old Olive and More Mustard combo (pg 33 of the catty) and the Soft Sky, Ruby Red, Mellow Moss, and Sahara Sand combo (pg 37). I love the "twist" that the soft blues seem to add to the "traditional" red/green color combo. I also love Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, and Pomegranate together, with or without a green (maybe Artichoke or Old Olive?)
