Default Paper Trey shipping to Canada

I want to jump on the bandwagon and get Holiday Treats and those cool Hinged tins but I don't know about shipping to Canada. Anyone have personal experience with cost of shipping to Canada? thanks

don't select the "flat rate" shipping, just the "USPS First class mail-international". the flat rate shipping is really expensive and the first class is pro-rated to the weight of your order.. anyway..

you MAY be charged a $5 "handling fee" and gst/pst at the border, but that's it.
it takes a while (2-3 weeks). hope that helps.

If you go to the home page of Papertrey, down in the bottom left corner they have box "Click here for Shipping Policy and Rate Chart".

There is a section for international shipping - with a section for Canada. It depends on the weight of your order how much it will cost.

If you have items in your shopping cart, enter your shipping information in the bottom left, choose your shipping preference and click apply and it will show you the shipping costs.

I received an email that my last parcel shipped on Sept 8th and I received it on Sept 14th - I am in Southern Ontario.

I have placed quite a few orders with PT and have had excellent results every time.:-D

Thanks for your responses. I'm guessing if it's just a stamp set then the weight wouldn't be too much but I'm thinking about getting some tins too. Are we charged customs as well? Once I ordered some toys from the US and I was charged about $5 in customs fees but 25 in brokerage fees. YIKES!

Default shipping to canada

I placed an order with papertrey and received it in Edmonton in one week.
It is a flat rate shipping to Canada (I believe $23) no matter how much or little you order-so make a BIG order!!!! ha ha ha

I've ordered from Papertrey before and paid 9.50 for shipping. Make sure you check the first class mail international.

As for pkburns comment about the toys...were they shipped Fed Ex? Their brokerage fees are unbelievable. they charged me $18 brokerage fees to deliver a package from Cards magazine when I was published. This was in addition to the $7 they collected for taxes for hte government. I was hopping!

Regular post is much more reasonable. Just take that international post option . You may have to pay $5 to Canada post plus a few dollars in taxes if you purchase is much more than $20.

That has been my experience. HTH!

Hi Jazzytobi

Sorry that I did not make it clear. The question was about how much it would cost to ship to Canada.

I haven't ordered from PaperTrey yet, but I get other packages from the US and it doesn't matter if it's FedEx or regular mail, the customs will charge you if they can. Even if I didn't pay anything and it's promo material I always get hit. But it can range from $10-$30 for a package under $100 in worth. So I pick my US purchases carefully.

that's the misconception!!! flat rate shipping is NOT the only choice.. you can choose first class mail international!! (way cheaper)

(can you tell i've said this is one forum or another like a billion times?) lol..
