I work in the property management business so I call Plumbers, Concrete contractors, etc off signs on vans/trucks. Some have turned out to be pretty good!
Yes...it was on a truck for a company that sprays mulch. They come and "spray" your mulch on your landscape so you don't have to take wheelbarrow after wheelborrow of mulch to spread yourself!
I have called tree trimming services, cement services, and fence repair services. I have never seen any signs for SU, just Mary Kay and today a sign for Pampered Chef.
I have not called a business from a sign posted on a car, but there was one that caught my eye. The sign was for "Hagatha Slithers." She brought creepy, crawly critters to birthday parties. If I had a child who was interested, I would have called. The bottom line for me was the creative name...eye catching.

I called a lock smith, a plumber, an electrician, a landscaper and a blind installer. I also asked for a business card of a decorator who had a sign on her car in the parking lot of Target
I can tell you that in my area, (Phoenix suburb) I know of 2 of us SU demonstrators that have the car magnets. I have gotten about 10 calls in the year that I have had them and about 10 emails. My licence plates also state my email (Istamp2). I have been asked for cards at several places ranging from my kids schools to church and even at the bus stop. I have had people contact me from my SU website and ask if I was the white van with the Magnet on the side. I think it was more than worth the money I spent on them. In fact, another great thing about them is that when I am doing a workshop at someones house, I park at the end of the driveway and the guests know right where the party is.

Yes. Unfortunately my call was because the driver of the vehicle was a lunatic on the road...a menace to the safety of others. I wondered if they checked this employee's driving record before putting him behind the wheel.
Sorry! I never call.
My short term memory is so shot, that I never remember.
I never have both a pen & paper to write it down.
Some do make me smile, though.
When I need something...I just check the internet!

No I haven't but that doesn't mean I wouldn't. If I happened to be in the market for something and I saw a car advertising the very thing I needed or was looking for I would probably call especially if I saw the car at my son's school, church or some place like that vs. a mall.
I have not called directly from a car ad, because if I see a car ad that interests me, I'm not able to write down the number while driving.
The benefit of car ads, however, is "name branding." I remember that company name (or it's in my subconscious) when I need their service and look them up in the Yellow Pages.
I've called numbers on trucks and vans for windows, fencing and tree removal. Used the tree removal, had a window pane replaced and am still considering the fence.
I had purchased the window clings from SU and put them in the window of my van and I did get three customers off of them. One lady waited for me to get out of the post office (I was mailing a card exchange) and asked me about Stampin' Up. I gave her a catalog and my business card and the next week (I was already thinking that I lost out on a catalog) she placed a $75 order. I now have a new van and the windows are tinted too dark for the window clings so I was considering the magnetic sign.

Really? Did you have it custom done locally, or just get the one from Town & Country?
TIA!

I have called several numbers in the last couple of weeks--roofing companies, electricians, window replacement--still trying to recover from Hurricane Ivan. And it can be difficult to get the companies to come to you--so I am actively looking for companies that I see do a good job!
Also, called an Avon lady off a car sign.
On a side note, I have a canvas bag that says "Ask Me About Stamping" where I can display 8 cards/card fronts also. I have made MANY contacts this way! I carry this bag with me when I take my DD to the orthodontist, carry a change of clothes to the gym, trips to the doctor, PTO meetings etc.. It's a deifinte eye catcher!
I must be crazy because I don't see the option to vote-
Anyhow- I have called a number on a car. It was for "Jolly Jumpers" to rent my son one of those huge inflatated bouncy castles for his birthday party.
I never have but when I use to sell Avon I had a car sign and I did have people call me because of it. One lady actually wanted me to pull over to get a brochure. I got recruits because of the sign also.

I have called for a landscaping company and a water well company. My husband gets calls weekly on his signs from his vehicle. In fact, it more than pays for his truck payment. His company is fairly well known in the trade so seeing the vehicle signs often promts them to make the call. He also occassionally runs commercials and billboards. It's all about name recognition! He prepares people for contractor exams so it is a specialized field and of course he's very good at what he does
I haven't, but...
I still think it's a good idea.
Sometimes I see #'s - snow plowing, yard services, home repairs, etc - and think I'd use the # if I were in need of those services.
Sometimes it's hard to pick a number out of the phone book for a reliable service provider.
