HI - I took my 50% coupon to AC Moores today and bought an embossing heat tool, the ink, and powder. Now what? I need some easy directions and ideas. I couldn't find a tutorial and I had trouble searching to see if this has been addressed in the past. Thank you!

It's easy. Just stamp your image using your ink (Versamark is what I use). Pour your embossing powder on, and then tap off the excess. Then heat with the gun, don't get too close to the paper or you may burn it You will know when it's done because the powder starts looking liquidy (if that's a word!). Have fun. I've been experimenting with embossing brads today.
1. ink your stamp w/ embossing ink (or versamark). stamp on paper. pour colored embossing powder all over, shake off excess. heat the paper (not to close or the paper will burn) until the powder raises.
2. ink your stamp w/ pigment ink (whatever color you wanted). stamp, then pour clear embossing powder over it. heat set.
if you got embossing ink, you will want to use colored embossing powder.
You'll know it's embossed when the grainy/sandy look of the EP turns shiny and raised; then move on to the next area. Can help to tilt in the light to see any spots you might have missed and then you can go back and hit 'em again.
Also possible to "burn" off the EP if you get too close (you can scorch the paper, too!) or hold the heat on it too long. practice a little on some scrap til you feel you've got a feel for watching it turn and how close to hold the heat tool to it.

Do you owned a versamark pad/ if you do you are saved!!!!! did you get the anti-static embossing friend powder thingy that su sells? if not rub an anti-static used sheet on your cardstock before you stamp. 2- stamp your image with the versamark ink 3- put your ep over the image and shake the excess.4- heat it with the heating tool, watch out that you don't over heat it because it will be absorb by the paper and not be a raised effect. and tada!!!! that should be it. maybe someone else can get more details for you but that is the basic process. Good luck with it, I love this technique, specially with multicolor detailed images because it keeps everycolor in it's place.
I've embossed brads a couple of times, to change the color of them. When it's not convenient to run out to Michael's or an LSS to get what you really need, embossing can be a timesaver and lifesaver!
you can heat the front or the back. i do the back so no embossing powder gets blown away.
to emboss brads, just cover the brad w/ versamark/embossing ink, dip into e. powder, and heat.
Make sure to use tweezers to hold it or you'll burn your fingers! Also, you can skip the ink, by heating FIRST, dip, and then heat again, if necessary, but usually, it melts/fuses right on there and you don't have to.
If you have a little dish of ice water nearby, you can plunge it in there to cool it instantly before you set it down, so you don't smear it (metal retains heat so sometimes if you set it down too soon, it smears).
Lburanas is right--it's a GREAT time saver when all you have is gold or silver brads!

All I have are the cheap gold brads, so I emboss them different colors. You can get some interesting looking colors too. When I emboss a brad red on gold, it turns out darker then just red. It's fun to experiment with if nothing else. I skip the versamark step and just heat the brad, dip it, and heat the powder. It's good for when you can't think of anything creative to do.
Not to overwhelm you Julie Ann, but in the newest edition of Rubber Stamper there is a blurb about using the Ultra thick with a cookie cutter (looked like a cookie cutter to me, it was tag shaped and small though) and melting the UTEE in a melting pan and creating a little plastic shape! Cool!
