So how many of you are going to Michaels this weekend? Sad to say, I probably won't make it. We have a car in the shop and it will cost us a bundle so I have to so some great self-restraint. To make it worse, I work there and get an associates discount! Oh, cruel world!
I went this morning and got Pearlex for $13 and a Coluzzle tag template for $6.50! I have to wait 2 wks to play with the Pearlex because my parents are going to give that to me as part of my birthday gift:( That's how I've been getting my stamping shopping fix...buy something I really want when it's on sale and then sell it to my mom to give to me for my birthday! That way I for sure get what I want!
Because of your tip last week (THANK YOU) I pulled my coupon out of the papers, which were just about to be recycled. Daydreamer and I have planned a 'date' to go and 'browse' to see what catches our eye!
So sorry you would not be able to make it! And with the associate discount too! WOW - I think I might sign up for the 'holiday help' this year to get that! or maybe at Toys R us....hmmmm
Cruel world!!! I did not get a coupon in my paper today. No ads whatsoever! Hopefully my mom got one that I can use tomorrow. We didn't have an ad last week, either, so I haven't gotten to shop at Michael's for a few weeks now. I think withdrawal is setting in....must go check the neighbors recycle bin...

sml1170, I don't know about other stores, but at the one I work at we will have extras sitting out. You could also ask at the desk if there are any left.
The reason why there wasn't an ad last week is because they usually are every other week. BUT...keep an eye out here! I have my hands on a sale paper for next week! I will post later in the week about it.
There wasn't a Michael's ad last week...I think they are only having ads out every other week. There is a 40% off coupon in the ad today too...but that's not good until Tuesday. My parents get our local paper and then the paper of the city next to us...so I had 2 coupons today I don't get the paper at all, so I go to their house on Sunday mornings and swipe the coupons!
I bought a brayer & will be going back for the foam roller to go with it. Some of their paintbrushes are 50% off, so I bought a stipple paintbrush. Had to grab some microbeads while I was there, since they always seem to be out of them.
I went to Michaels today with my coupon and my husband used my mother in laws. I din't buy anything stamping related but something real cool. A bracelet kit that you put pictures in and bead inbetween. I found in at the end cap of the beading Isle. They are real cool I made one with my kids pictures in it. I suppose you could take pictures of cards and do the same thing. The bracelet is called a Photo Bracelet by crystal innovations. Reg. price they are onlt $7.99 which isn't bad but 1/2 price they are only $4!!!
I used mine yesterday...I went to buy a black Staz-on pad but of course they were out of that colour...so I bought a brayer instead. I might go back in the week to see if they have the Staz-on and use my 40% coupon.
In southern Washington, we got it in Wednesday's mail, in with the little 'local' paper with the ads from the supermarkets. I almost didn't find it and had to go through the recycling bin to get it out! Usually our Michaels will not give out coupons at the counter either, so you either have it or not!
I got a sizzix with my last 50% off coupon and have loved it! All those dies add up though! Be sure to buy them with your 40% off coupons... I've found I use it more for scrapbooking than cards though.
Our closest Michael's is 45 minutes away and I live in Florida, so I won't be heading out that far. I don't know what is coming weather wise and I want to stay close to home sweet home unless I have to evacuate.
Maybe if we have to spend a few days somewhere else I'll get to go to Michael's!
I know that at the Michaels near us I had brought along the wrong coupon (an expired one) and they gave me the 40% off still.
If you have a JoAnn's near your house sign up for the newsletter and you get 40% off brochures every couple weeks, and they let you use them on clearance items at the JoAnn's near me.

I went today - thanks for the tip!! I got the paper crimper with my coupon. I also got some goodies for scrapbooking! I finally got my craft closet organized, so now I can get to work. Oh... that means I need to get off this site right Happy Labor Day!

I confess...I went to Michael's this morning and bought a brayer. After I picked up the one by the stamping section, I wandered around and happened upon the same brayer but with 4 rollers in it - foam, soft rubber, hard rubber and acrylic. With the 50% off coupon it was only a couple dollars more than the one by the stamping supplies.
I saved a bundle at Michael's this morning. I bought paint pens for half off to color in the dots on my dominos. I got sculpy clay for 99 cents each and they had all our colors ~ sorry, I want stamps from us that I can't get other places rather than paying 3 times the price for something I just want to experiment with. And they had Zig aqua painters that I used my 50% off coupon with. I actually used two, sent my DD through with a $5 bill and she bought one. I saved $25 just on the sale items and another $10 on the aqua painters.
And ~ tomorrow I have to go back for more paint colors to paint more domino dots.
And just ask ~ if they don't have coupons out, they have them in their pockets ready to scan. I borrowed the one from my neighbors paper because she's out of town. Didn't need it because the kid at the check out had one in his pocket.
i went to A.C. Moore and bought a crimper because they had a coupon also, i also went to Michaels and bought a brayer there. we can get unlimited coupons through a local paper for A.C. Moore, so i may go and get more papers(because they are free!) and use a few more coupons tomorrow. Michaels will also honor A.C.Moore coupons. Unfortunately even though the coupons are unlimited, funds are

I went to Michaels today with my 50% off coupon (actually I have 2) and I bought a Xyron 500 machine - they had this combo pack that also included so extar adhesive, an adhesive eraser and a portable cutter the difference with the 50% off was $5 so I got the one with the extras...
I stopped by the craft center and found out they have a pom=pom creature class for kids tommorrow and since I have another 50% off coupon guess I will have to take the kids....Aw shucks...maybe buy a brayer....a tag punch....an adhesive refill for the xyron (since I will have to play alot with my new toy...)
They have added a bunch new stuff to the store since I have been there last - they have Staz-on pads in all different colors (instead of just black) and staz-on cleaner and they have all these new punches - I might have to buy myself the small tag punch with the 40% coupon later this week... or maybe add some more staz-on colors....

I went this afternoon and bought a brayer.While I was there I picked up some page pebbles . My neighbor gave me her coupon so I am going back in the morning to get some alphabet brads.
Are the Zig aqua painters similar to the new SU ones? What section of the store did you find them in? Nobody seemed to know what I was talking about when I asked & I didn't know the brand to ask for.
My paper this morning was missing the coveted Michael's ad. I went crazy, knowing it should have been there. DH knows that I am crazy. I went straight to the LA Times website and put in my missing ad complaint. By the time we came home from church, we had a whole new paper, including Michael's ad. DH and I just got home from Michael's -- I decided to get a stampamajig but I am not sure how to use it or if I will like it. I figured $5 wasn't too bad to try it out!

I use mine quite a lot and not just for the two-step stamping technique. I can't mount my stamps all that well so the stampamajig makes up for it. It is great for lining up stamp placements perfectly!
Our Micheal's is "resetting" their entire stamping section. SO the shelves are empty. They actaully have been now for almost a week. I had them go in the back the other day so I could get some microbeads. I might try again tomorrow. My friend was there today and said it was still not set
I played with my new stampamajig this afternoon. I am very happy with my $5 50% off purchase. I am sure that it will be used often with my alphabets and scrapbooking. Thanks for the instructions!

I was so good today it was pathetic! I ordered the 18" Carl Cutter the other day, so I figured 50% or no, I couldn't be spending much more. So, since I want to put together a display board, I just got one of those...spent a whole $2. It was the deluxe model, , it comes with a carrying handle and a thingie to hold it shut when you're carrying it...
I went today and bought a sizzix with my 50% off coupon, so it was only $40.00. Tomorrow I'm going to AC Moore and use my 50% coupons on a few of the die cut thingies to go with it. I've got 4 coupons, so I'm excited.
I've got my coupon, now just need to figure out a reason to go out tomorrow ALONE! I know! We are all out of milk....oh dear...guess mommy will have to go buy some! :lol:
Well, not much at my nearest Michaels...so I finally bought some archival mist with my 50% off coupon. Need to do some layouts with some newspaper clippings and have been putting them off because I could not archive them. Bought a lot of little odds and ends too...still spent enough, even saving $23.00!
I was at my friend's house all day today, she lives in L.A, California. She got her ad in the paper for Michael's and Joann's, with the coupons there. I got home late tonight, 12:30 am, I live in Orange County, and my DH picked up the OC Register. No coupons :shock: , I looked and looked to no avail! What's up with that. Worst yet, tomorrow is my Bday so I was expecting to go shop at Michael's with my Bday money. I wonder if they'll believe me if I tell them I never got the ad and its my Bday?? Oh well a girl can try
I went to Joann's and AC Moore this weekend.
I didn't have a coupon, but both stores gave me 40% off my most expensive item from a coupon that they kept at the register.
You have to ask though.

I am soooo excited.....I have recently gotten addicted to making the beaded RSVP pens and my Micheals had a ton of the Terrifically tacky tape. I used my coupon for that and got it for $1.99....I plan to go back today and get more....
