3 years ago, in a corner of the world very far away, a woman in South Korea was about to give birth to a child she would not raise. And 3 years ago, a boy was about to be brought into this world that would live his life far from the place he was born, with a family who hoped, prayed, and dreamed about the day that a child would enter their lives, and they would become a Mommy and Daddy.
I know that this weekend here is Labor Day and we get together to draw an end to summertime fun. But during your "day off" tomorrow, do me a favor. Send thoughts and prayers to a woman who I may never meet, but who I thank everyday, Camden's biological mother. Send her good thoughts for her life, so that somehow she may know that the little boy she carried is loved and cherished and is growing up with a family who wants nothing more in this world but for him to be happy.
Sorry for the personal request, but I know that as much fun and happiness we have on Camden's birthday, we also take time to stop and remember the woman who brought him into this world, and into our lives. Thank you

What a wonderfully sweet request. I will certainly pray for all that you ask for his biological mother. Another prayer for you, your husband and your very lucky son.
How abslutely beautiful. I will definately be thinking of your son's biological mother tomorrow as well as you and your family. What a wonderful blessing you have recieved, and how sweet you are to think of her in such a wonderful and warm way. God bless.

Oh Britta, you touched my heart tonight! I will be praying for the Lord to bless this woman's life, and that somehow she will know that her son is cherished and thriving! Happy Birthday to your little guy!! <hugs>
I, too would be honored to send my prayers your way - that your son's birth mother would know in her heart that her baby is loved and cherished. To me, that is the ultimate act of faith - to give up your child and trust God that He will make sure this baby is placed in a loving home. Thanks for sharing such a touching story.
I have tears in my eyes as I type this and my dh is rolling his eyes again...I will send a prayer up to God for Him to help this mother find peace and know that her son is loved and cherished by you.

How incredibly loving you are for including Camden's Birth Mother in his very special day of celebration. How fortunate he is to have such a loving mother!
29 years ago I was faced with a very difficult decision on weather or not I could give up my child for adoption when he was born. I prayed every day for God to help me with my decision then one day I just knew that I would never be able to live with myself if I didn't at least try to raise the little baby I was about to bring into this world. I never met the couple who would have addopted my son, but I'm sure I broke their hearts when they found out that I had made the decision to keep my unborn child.
You are very blessed to of had this opportunity and I will say a very special prayer for Camden's Birth Mother that she will know in her heart how grateful you are and that her child is never going to want for love. May you have many happy days ahead of you.

that was beautiful. Happy Birthday to your sweet baby!
We witness a miracle every time a child enters into life.
But those who make their journey home across time & miles,
growing within the hearts of those who wait to love them,
are carried on the wings of destiny and placed among us
by God's very own hands.
Britta! I was very touched by what you wrote. I'm sending good thoughts to Camden's biological mom.
Gosh, I have cried so much this week and then you post this, and I see Beth's post. I will not get puffy eyes today. I will not get puffy eyes today. I will not. I just will not!
Enjoy your special day and know that we are all thinking of you and happy for you!
Britta, God knew what he was doing when he put he put a very special baby in your arms and called you mother. The tenderness of your heart towards your son's biological mother speaks volumes to the manner in which you are raising your son. Your thoughtful, warm, heart is where he'll turn numerous times while growing up.
I do pray that God fills the birth mother with peace and comfort in knowing that this little boy is being raised with love and joy. And like all parents, I pray that you and your husband have God's wisdom, patience, and grace as your little boy grows into a man.
Remember, we are all God's children first. He has a very special plan and specific purpose for your son's life. He's asked you to be a steward in preparing your son for heaven's work. This truth has given me incredible peace as my children have walked through life's disappointments and trials.
Lana, I've got the puffy eyes for you!
Britta, That was just lovely, and I don'tt hink I can type much more. I'll have good thoughts for all of you, and Camden's birth mom.
Britta,
Sending prayers for you and your family while you celebrate Camden's birthday. That is so neat that you have included his bio. Mom in prayers also. I will say a special one for her. I was adopted 42 years ago and often say a prayer of thanks and gratitude to my bio. Mom for having the love, courage, and bravery to give me up. I grew up in a loving home with fantastic parents.
Beth, thank you so much for including your wonderful poem. I am sending that to my parents and a dear friend who adopted a baby 6 years ago. It touched me so much.
Britta--
You are so sweet! Give him a big hug and kiss from all of us and we will send prayers to Camden's bio mother. Keep up the good work. If your mothering skills are as good as your stamping.....you are doing a WONDERFUL job!!!!! (And I am sure you have the mommy thing down!)

Britta,
Consider your request done, only a day or so late. (Computer problems & storms here yesterday.) I have an brother who was adopted & thank his birthmother for the courage to recognize she couldn't raise him & for giving him up so he could be my brother.
Thanks to all of you that have sent good thoughts to us and to Camden's birthmother. He really is the answer to our prayers.
Bethspumpkins-thank you so much for that poem. I am always on the lookout for wonderful sayings/poems about adoption and I just love the one you posted. I may have to incorporate it into the announcements when we adopt our second.
I am attaching a silly pic so you can see for yourself just how special our little guy is. It is Camden in his new Spiderman underoos-a favorite birthday gift!
I am also going to add the poem I wrote for his adoption announcement-it really sums up how I feel about him!
Today we saw our angel,
looked deep into his eyes,
we know that with each passing day,
he's forever changed our lives
Today we held our angel,
our hearts are filled with joy,
we can't believe he's finally here,
our precious baby boy
Today we kissed our angel,
who flew in from afar,
he's our proof that dreams come true,
our wish upon a star.

What an angel, and what a great poem. My sister is currently waiting to adopt a child from South Korea, I must incorporate that poem into something for her!

Well, Camden's official b-day festivities are over! whew!
Thanks to all for your sweet comments, prayers, and good thoughts sent to his birthmother and to us.
We had a great weekend, and Camden thinks his "Happy Birthday" continues until all the "web cupcakes" are gone! (can ya tell he likes Spiderman right now?LOL )

What a wonderful story. And sooooo wonderful for you to think of his biological mother!!!!! I'm sure she knows in her heart that Camden is in a perfect home with lots of love and caring hearts.
oh britta I am touched to tears too by your wonderful thoughts for camdens birthmother...
I have 4 cousins that are adopted from Korea and our whole family was involved in going to the airport when they were flown in to become a part of us. Reading your post brought a flood of memories!
Oh Britta, that brought tears to my eyes! You are so sweet to think of his biological mother and to take such good care of Camden! I hope that he had an awesome birthday! I also hope he enjoys all of his little goodies. Please give him a hug and kiss for me!!!!
Many years ago, when I was a teenager, I had to give my baby girl up for adoption. It was the hardest and most heart wrenching decision I've ever made in my life and I pray that it was the right one.
I also pray that her life has been enriched with parents such as yourself. Thank you for letting me know how much it means to adoptive parents to have the precious gift of a child brought into their lives.
Nan-thanks so much for responding and sharing your story. When we were deciding to adopt and going through lots of struggles with inertility I met a friend who had placed a child for adoption when she was a teen. She told me that my husband and I were the type of people she dreamed about adopting her baby. I always think of her when I think of the immense sacrifice she made for her child. I think about my son's birthmother all the time, but imagine things are especially difficult for her around his birthday. I truly feel it is my duty to honor her and the decision she made by being a good Mommy and loving him not just for me, but for her as well.
I will include you in my prayers when I thank Camden's birthmother.

Britta - thank you so much for sharing this with us. It brought tears to my eyes and really touched my heart. I will definitely say a prayer for the birthmother and for your family too. I hope Camden had a wonderful birthday!
