Default Special Fold Cards

Hello,

This is my first post and I just found out about this site. I love it!

My question is that I'm having a Folding Frenzy class and am looking for ideas for special folded cards. I have a shadowbox card and a basket card, but I'm looking for other ideas.

Any help you can give would be appreciated. My first class is this coming Saturday.

Thanks,

I don't have them written down but here's what I do:

On piece of 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 cardstock, score in 3/4" from each side and 3/4" in from top and bottom. Do this on all 4 sides, so you have a scored rectangle inside the card. Cut diagonally from scored lines, top left corner to bottom right corner, and from top right corner to bottom left corner. Fold flaps in and back. Stamp inside card as desired. It should be 5" x 3 3/4". Lay inside card over flaps on back of card, allowing for some depth between the front card and the inside card. Fold flaps onto inside card and tape or glue. Using dimensionals, mount card of same color to back of shadowbox.

I learned this technique at a team meeting, it was demonstrated by Betty Shoults.

I find a long set, like "Nice and Narrow", or the SU Sept. special set A "Beautiful Season".

I've attached a photo of a card I've done. Hope you understand my directions. The photo is a little hard to tell it's a shadowbox.

I suppose you already did it, but check out the techniques forum. Someone is always posting a new link to some new card thing!

I recently did an invitation swap and did a version of an explosion card - I'll try to post a pic tomorrow, but basics are below:

Take a square piece of cardstock (I used 8.5 x 8.5)

Fold diagonally, unfold and turn over

Fold lengthwise, unfold, fold width-wise, unfold

You should be able to fold in the sides on the diagonal fold-line and end up with a square card.

I put layers on the outside "top" and on the inside top and bottom with all the party details. It looked very cool!
