What is the Scrapbook Sketch Challenge and Link to Master List
So just what is the Scrapbook Sketches Challenge? It is simply an invitation to create a scrapbook page using a particular layout. Everyone is invited to play along!

LOL - don't feel overwhelmed, feel inspired at all the creating and creativity and playing with your paper and your stamps that you have available to you! Start with some of your favorites or some that 'speak' to you - use use use these sketch and theme challenges and scramp scramp scramp and enjoy enjoy enjoy - it's loads of fun - remember to keep it fun!
I'm very new at scrapbooking and have only completed two. Both were done with special themes.
Now I'm looking at my boxes and boxes of pictures over my last 38+ years as a wife and Mom, and am wondering how I can start!
Do I pick a theme title? Do I just start some pages and see what develops?

You sound like you are pretty much in the same boat that I am in! I know I'll never get through all of the pictures, butI just figure I'll get done what I can - when I can. I put my pictures in order by date and have a scrapbook or two for each year, except for a couple of vacation books. That is completely up to you.
You made the first step, finding this site!
Are you pictures sorted? If not that is your next step.
As Mary said use the sketch and/or theme challenges. Find one that you like and works for your pictures. Looking through the gallery for those challenges might help give you ideas.
Keep asking questions, thats the best way to learn. Hope to see you around in the challenges!
Thank you both for your help. I did go ahead and bite the bullet. I posted my page under 12x12. I'm glad I got one page done, now humpteen million to go!

I have never participated in a challenge before. I see that anyone can join, however, is there a thread or place for any rules on the challenges? Is there a time limit?
Could you tell me exactly where to find the master list of all the card sketch challenges? All I seem to be able to find is a description of what challenges are...not what each weeks has been. Thanks!

Under every challenge subforum, there is a "sticky" thread. (This thread is *always* at the top) This thread is has a description of the particular challenge AND a link to the master list of each challenge.
Bumpity Bump! Would love a master file of all the sketches too. Anybody?? We have so many talented folks here. Its a treasure trove of goodies for all of us.

Teresa, my apologies for just seeing your plea for help.
Yes, just add the keyword to your gallery upload and then post a little note in the thread with the same name. That will automatically bump the thread up and notify everyone subscribed to the thread...me and usually anyone else that's left a comment.
To create a link that's whatever text you want just select and copy the url (www.splitcoast..) then type out the "title" you want to use in your comments. Example St Patty Birthday
After you type the words select them and click on the globe icon. If you don't see it make sure you click [go advanced] and you'll have more options for your reply. Paste the url link into the box that comes up, click [ok] and that's it!
I have a question. I looked at a scrapbook challenge. Do I have to follow the size of the pictures exactly? I have a book of layouts and ideas are given for dertain amount of pics used. In some layouts I cannot use the size of pics picture so I change it. Do we have to follow exactly the layout challenge as pictured, exampe say 3x3 pics, maybe 4x4 placed a certain way. Thanks
