As some of you know, I recently started working at Michaels. I just learned earlier this week that the chain is having a huge sale this weekend! I don't know all the details (sorry!) but I did hear there will be a coupon for 50% off instead of the regular 40% coupon. As with the 40%, it applies to one regular priced item. By the way, there is no need to tell the cashier which item you want the coupon used on. How it works is we scan all your items, then scan the coupon. The system will automatically take the percentage off of the highest regular priced item (unlike the competetor store with the female name!). A lot of customers don't seem to know this, but I gently tell them for future reference.
Again, sorry I don't have more info on the sale, just keep an eye out for the Sunday paper! My store manager says it will be crazy at work this weekend!
Thanks for the heads up - I have been contemplating getting a Xyron machine with a 50% off coupon I might just take the pluge (and hope they aren't on sale this weekend)
I'll just tell my hubbie "But honey I SAVED money...."

Does anybody else think it's funny that some of us have to figure out something to get that's 50% off? Must mean that we have everything.... except that brayer....hmmm.
I will explain! Sizzlets are mini sizzix dies that only cut through 1 layer of paper. They come in sets and usually are more detailed than the big dies. The tags set has 4 different mini tags that layer perfectly! It is a must have!
I might have to buy some extra papers this week just for the coupon!!!
Just want to let people know that we can only accept one coupon per customer per visit. So many try to come through the line with many coupons to use at once, even try to justify by paying multiple purchases at one time. I even had on lady take a stack of the flyers, rip out all the coupons right there in the store and try to use them, which is so unfair to the other customers. It pays to read the fine print.
Mostly they come in the newspaper on Sunday. It's usually the local newpaper where the Michaels is located. For the past few months I have been getting them in the mail with other sale ads. They may be doing that because a lot of people from our city goes there too. They always ask for my zipcode when I purchase things.
A few times when I have had more than one coupon for a week - the weeks we get the flyers with the 40% off coupons in the Sunday paper we also get one with this psuedo paper we get on Wed. I just take my hubbie with me - give him something and a coupon and I have something and a coupon - viola... or I will go on Sunday when I get the first coupon and then again later in the week when I get my second coupon - most of the time it is usually something small ($5-10) but something I need so every little bit of saving helps...
But hummmm 50% off - might have to get an extra Sunday paper - go in on Sunday buy a Xyron machine and go back on Monday and get a refill - go on Tues with 40% and get a brayer....
Oh must stop wallet is screaming...."don't leave me naked...leave at least a dollar to cover myself..."

xyron is great...it is a machine that requires no electricity, batteries or heat. It can laminate or put adhesive evenly over an entire piece (great for die cuts or vellum). They come in many sizes, many use the 5" one, which means it will take paper up to 5" wide and any length. There are different cartridges too so you can put adhesive (perm or temp) or laminate or magnet,..very cool
a note about the sizzlits...our Michaels doesn't carry these (yet?) only some of the alphabets, but not all the cute tags, etc. They do carry a lot of the regular dies, but not the sizzlits....
When there's a Monday holiday (Memorial Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, etc.) Michaels has a 50% off coupon good on Sunday and Monday. I guess they're trying to get business over these holiday weekends. They also have the regular 40% off coupon for the rest of the week.
Watch your Sunday paper!!!!
