are these intended to be mini cards or card candy or like trading cards?
i have seen some really cute ones and wondering how they came about and what you all are doing with them.
TIA

similar to ATC's, they can be traded or used in cards. It's a great way to challenge yourself to work on a different size "canvas".

They must be used as enclosure cards. I'd never heard of them by that name.

I have tons of small images that would make darling little *inchies*. I'm going to have to try it out. I loved the card that the lady posted earlier on her blog. It was absolutely gorgeous.

I just participated in an inchies swap. You can see the submissions on my blog on yesterday's post. What I do with these little one inch creations is use them as embellishments or make cards from them. My blog has a label for inchies and you'll see some of the cards I made.
Sorry, I don't have time to post all these links!

I have also participated in an inchie swap. I think they may have originated in UK ?? If you do a google search, a lot of UK sites come up. They are soooo much fun. It truly is amazing what you can do with 1x1 piece of paper. They are also a great way to use up some of that scrap laying around!!
I have simply collected... but I've also used them to decorate cards, etc. For a shoebox swap I was in I made long envelopes and then decorated the envelope with some extra inchies I had (I started making them and couldn't stop!!)
Here are some other inchie I have made:
Inchies No. 01 - Hope by wiggydl at Splitcoaststampers
Inchies No. 02 - Groovy by wiggydl at Splitcoaststampers
extra set of inchies by wiggydl at Splitcoaststampers

When I heard of inchies a couple months ago on SCS, I couldn't for the life of me imagine what the purpose of making them would be. They are just *SO* tiny! But after seeing the ideas in this thread, and how they can be incorporated into cards and tags, I think I've done a complete turnaround. Thanks so much for sharing all your samples, they are great! I may just have to give this a try....

These things can be very, very addicting. At first I thought they'd be a great way to use up scraps -- but given that they are only one inch I'd need to make a billion of them to make any headway into my scrap collection .
I make a bunch at a time, but I use temporary adhesive and place my inchie backgrounds on a transparency, and then start adding to them. That way it saves me from having little pieces of paper all over the place or losing them!

I have got to try these! I love miniatures...they have always held a fascination for me. I think they'd be adorable on a card with a tiny envelope!

oh my gosh...how embarrassing that you went to my gallery! That silly card was made back when I was a beginner, and I'd like to think my work is a little better now! Haven't stamped in a while due to some construction we had done; am just now (after a year and a half) getting my stamping area cleaned up and ready for action. Much of what I do is case'd, so I don't put it in my gallery. Maybe I'll get organized and try to come up with some original stuff one of these days! Still chuckling about the fact that you went to my gallery! LOL!!

I think they are oh so adorable, and they really showcase those great little stamps that get lost on a regular sized card. I would use them to put on a small gift box or candy treat that would be overpowered by a bigger tag or gift card. I could even see girls using them with their DOLLS. THey are just FUN!!
