Mint Melody? This is one of the worst colors to try to match to anything. It just doesn't seem to go well with much of anything. Even the Color Coach neglects it in all but one group. I have tons of that color because when I was buying paper in family packs I would put the Mint Melody in its slot and forget about it. I have probably 20 sheets from doing that. Is there anyone that likes this color? Any other colors you aren't going to miss?

I definately won't miss Mint Melody, but I'm even happier to see Marvelous Magenta go!! I could never stand that color. I may have used Mint a couple of times for baby cards, but I've NEVER used the magenta!

I won't miss it, but I have been forcing myself to use it lately. It looks pretty good with Chocolate Chip. Not really my style, but I don't want to have to mess with it once the new colors come out.

I actually really like mint melody, but I know from past posts on here, I am definitely in the minority. I think Mint Melody was voted least favorite. :-)
I can't say I actually use it a lot, I don't use too many pastels in general, but I do like it! I like it with one of the purple type colors, and also black or white.
I think mint & white makes for a very clean crisp look.
Not at all! I try to put it with other pastels from time to time, but it doesn't have enough "zing". I am going to miss Mauve Mist though. I bought one more package - hope that eases the withdrawal symptoms.

Mich - Shall we all send you our Mint Melody? Are you all sitting? I am giving it all to my kids to use when they want to stamp with me!
~*~ How is it that kids always end up glued to your side when you are talking to a girlfriend or stamping?!?!? I've heard it called "Sticky Booger Syndrome", cause you can't seem to flick them off of you! Gross, but very accurate!

I, too, kind of liked Mint Melody. I definately wasn't my favorite color, but I don't hate it. I liked it with Pos. Pink and YoYo yellow for a nice summery card. Oh, well, I've used most all of mine up. I love, love, love the new colors so I won't miss mint melody too much!!

Yes, I will definitely miss it, weird as I am. I posted that somewhere else here. I won a swap contest one time with a card I made with Polar Bears (remember that cute set?) - the bear sitting with ice skates on and a cup of cocoa in its paws - and I found out then that I loved it with Pretty in Pink & lots of Dazzling Diamonds glitter. I know I'm in the minority, but some of my friends have been ordering the reinkers ... so I'm not alone!
I know I'm in the minority... but I love both mint melody and marvelous magenta!!! I'm going to miss both of them very much. Magenta is my DD absolute favorite color. She always wants it used in her birthday invites, etc.I bought an extra package of each, so I won't go through withdrawals immediately. After that I don't know what I'll do. I'm also PO'ed about them changing the burgundy! It's so brown now! Oh well, I guess I'll get used to it.

Stampin' Up is trying to keep up with industry standards. If you take the new colors to Home Depot and compare them with what they are showing in their paint idea booklets, you will see "our" colors. Mint was a popular color in industry 20 years ago. it isn't so any more. Look at the colors that are in clothing as well. More earthy colors and paler shades of former bright colors. When looking at the colors individually they don't seem to be so grand, but put them along side each other and they really do go wow!

I too, will not miss Mint Melody. It has gone out of style Tampersay. I love the new colors and can't wait to see what embellishments SU comes out with to coordinate with them! I also am glad that Magenta is gone! I didn't like it with any of the other colors and I can't remember when or if I ever used it for one of my cards or scrapbook pages!
I will miss Mint Melody. I used it a lot with Barely Banana, Lavender Lace, and Pretty in Pink to make baby cards. There isn't a green to use now for that, so I will have to come up with something else.
I will miss mint melody. it was the only pastel green, I think it's a very pretty color. and I love it with orchid opulence. I had to order the craft pad, and refills for craft and classic ink. I can't wait to see how mint craft ink looks on chocolate chip!
I will not however miss marvelous magenta. I tried to like that color, I really did, but I jsut don't. i'll hang onto it though so DD can play with it. she likes it-it matches Barney!
I find it interesting how so many people bash the magenta, but no one ever says anything against pink passion. When I put them side by side, there is very little difference.
I'm not concerned about using up my magenta -- my daughters both love it. And it's nice for little girl birthday cards (I use it with the retired Beautiful Ballerinas and lots of glitter. Always a big hit).
The colour that I can't figure out why I ordered it is orchid opulence. I liked it when I bought it, but now it makes me shudder. And I shudder at the mint too (though I've managed to almost use up the few sheets I had. I use it as a very thin mat, and then place it against pale blues).

I love mint melody and will really miss it!!! I love it with blues and purples.
As I was getting a large sheet of green (mint melody color) paper from the paper roll this morning at school, it reminded me of how much I will miss it.
I love Mint Melody!! It goes really well with Forest Foliage!!! and that is the color I will realy miss the most!! I love that fact is is a beautiful blue green!! I Love Mint Melody with the pinks, too! I will say I love the CS better that the ink, though!! Marvelous Magenta is also a color I will also miss. I happen to like really bright and vibrant colors. Think anything by DEE GRUENIG !! She was at the first SU! convention I went to. (That was back when SU! carried 20 plus different stamp companies .) I fell in love with her art and her style!! I have several of her videos and books. Never been able to make stuff that compares to hers but my personality just likes bright, wild and very vibrant colors!!
Not me. In my (almost) 3 years of being a demo, I have NEVER used it. I still have the all the sheets that came in my assorted packs. It never really caught my eye like some other colors.

I too really will miss mint melody (although I have a re-inker so I'll be able to use it for years to come). I mostly used it for sympathy cards with US White and gold mirrorcard. I was a subtle, tasteful color to use for such cards.

I don't use it often, but I liked having it available when I did want it! There are other colors that I use less often....Pale Plum and Perfect Plum come to mind, as well as Eggplant Envy. They seem so drab to me. I guess I'm just not a "purple" person! I have to force myself to use most shades of purple because I know that it's a favorite of so many people.

I will not miss any of the colors that are leaving or changing. Except for positively pink, that is. I think Mint and Mauve are my 2 least favorite of all the SU colors. As far as current stuff, I do not like the Pale and Perfect Plum, I find them to be muddy. I also think that Real Red ink could be spruced up, it is way too pink. You get a much truer red with the Ruby inkpad and marker.I don't know what I will do with all my leftover paper and stuff, prolly keep it and use it occasionally. I did trade all my changing and extra reinkers for an Alphabits set. HURRY UP NEW CATTY!!
I got addicted to mint melody about four months ago. I will miss the color! I love to use it with black. I wanted to load up on the paper but I want to have money to spend in the new catalog!
I'm going to miss mint a little bit. It's kind of nice for neutral baby cards. I'm really, really going to miss Positively Pink so much though! I can't believe it's going to be gone! Such a nice pink! Not to purple, not too orange. Not too bright, not too pastel. I'm hoping the new Regal Rose in the Rich Regals family will be similar to it.

Nah, I won't be missing mint melody all that much. The only time I really used it at all was when I was making baby thank you cards, and even then, I prefer sage shadow much more!

I won't miss any of the retiring colors, but I found that Bliss Blue and Mint Melody went together well for baby boy cards and for using the fishy stamps from Little Layers and Fishy Friends. I had a tough time pairing Magenta with anything, so am glad to see that one go. I've been a demo for 2 years and hadn't even bought the Mauve, so have no attachment to that one, either.
Can't wait to see what SU has in store in the new catty!
I just finished 10 swaps (for a hostess brunch I'll be attending)...and they are made with mint melody, pretty in pink, US white and close to cocoa...I felt like it was a "farewell to mint melody" for me to make them in that color combo.
I don't use mint melody very often, but the occasion arises where it just looks perfect with a certain color combo. So...I guess I can take it or leave it. I was never a fan of marvelous magenta or mauve mist...used those rarely.
I love the new colors and I've only seen them in my demo's Stampin' Success mag...I can only imagine how wonderful they'll be in real life...How many more days until July 1st?... TOO MANY!
I will miss Mint Medley - I loved combining it with Brocade Blue, Taken w/ Teal and Ivory... I made some of my favorite swaps with those together (and Silver EP)... try it if you have some to "get rid of" - you may like it!
I definately won't miss Mint Melody, but I'm even happier to see Marvelous Magenta go!! I could never stand that color. I may have used Mint a couple of times for baby cards, but I've NEVER used the magenta!
Bingo. I never bought the pack of MM paper but I have the pad and it is the opposite with the Marvalous Magenta. I will probably do them as door prizes or something. I have an unopened pack of Marvalous Magenta and Forest Foliage. The minute I heard they were retiring I put them up so I wouldn't open them by accident. I think the only color I will miss is the Mauve Mist. I like that one.
My daughter's bridal shower was yesterday and I made vellum lampshades x 25! But I also made a whole bunch of thank you cards for her to send out. I decided to use some of the retiring colors. So I got out Mint, Mauve, Rose Romance and a bunch of other colors. I used Shapes and Shadows and I did about 5 different color combos, but they all used Mint for the leaves. I *will* miss it - we don't have a similar green! It's also great for baby cards. I never bought a whole package of Mint paper (but I do have a whole pack of Mauve, and most of the other retiring colors), though, and when I opened my Mint and Mauve inks, I was surprised to see the inkpads looking almost brand new!
I definately won't miss Mint Melody, but I'm even happier to see Marvelous Magenta go!! I could never stand that color. I may have used Mint a couple of times for baby cards, but I've NEVER used the magenta!
OMG! Those are the EXACT two colors that I have no use for whatsoever! I've always thought I had some kind of artistic block for those two . . . I'm glad I'm not the only one!

Mint Melody strikes me as a green version of Pepto-Bismol; and it's very similar to the color of my mom's living room! She loves all sorts of greens; I think I will donate my mint 'stuff' to her!
