Are you talking about the ones that Shelli presented on stage for the home decor portion?

If memory serves me correctly, those were made using 1 x 6, 1 x 8 and 1 x 10 inch strips. Use the larger strips on the outside, and the smaller ones towards the center. Does that make sense? You can actually adjust the sizes according to the size you want the finished bow to be. Change the width to 1/2 or 3/4 inch strips and change the length to 2, 4, or six inches, or whatever you think looks good.

She took two pages from an old book and cut them randomly down two sides. She then gathered them in the middle (with the cut edges on the top and bottom). She added a couple strips of designer paper in the center. Then she fluffled them up and used them.

Deb Valder (Ballston Spa, NY) presented the bows with designer paper at Session One. Here are the directions. I'd post pics, but mine came out just lousy! These bows were very elegant and I prefer them to the magazine paper bows that Shelli showed.

BOW:
Cut 12 strips of designer paper 1 x 7; Cut four strips 1 x 6 and one 1 x 3. Using your Snail Adhesive, take strips and form loops by making the two ends of the strip meet at an angle).

Take four of the same size and shaped loops and connect with a brad. Take another four and do the same until you have four circles of loops. Take the two larger spiral of loops and attach with a Pop Up Glue Dot. Take the two smaller spiral of loops and attach with a Pop Up Glue Dot. Then take both of those and attach those two with a Pop Up Glue Dot.

Now take the 1 x 3 strip and fold it into a circle and adhere it to the center.

NOTE: You can make different size bows by adjusting the size of the strips.

These should be posted on the website before too long.

HTH!

Thank you, Mary! I was trying to follow the written instructions mentally and not having a clue...that one little photo did the trick and made it seem simple. ;-) Fabulous idea! Jan

Default bows made with designer paper

Here are some pictures I took from the boards. I believe that the demonstrator wrote the sizes on the strips of paper and you can see them if you zoom in on the picture. If you can't see them, let me know and I'll let you know what I have written down.

Enjoy!

These bows are great! I was at session 2 and I must admit that I did not see these at session 2! I must have REALLY been out of it! I do remember Shelli's bow using the magazine and cardstock!

OK - I had to give this bow a try and was a little worried that I would have a hard time making it come out looking good. But I was pleasantly surprised at how well my first attempt came out. The only problem that I had was getting the "circle" of loops to stick together - it took a LOT of glue dots! I'm thinking that hot glue might work well too . . .
