IC86 - Holiday Plates [28-Jul-07]
Inspiration Challenge 86 - Holiday Plates - IC86
This is the final installation of the "Christmas in July" theme. Again, SmilynStef found this website - Rosanna - that has some really wonderful holiday-themed plates. I have chosen to use the 12 Days of Christmas set, but there is also an elegant toile-style set too - you can choose (click "holiday" in the left menu on their site to see the other sets).
Also, for those that need reminding...here are the lyrics for 12 Days of Christmas:
On the twelfth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Twelve drummers drumming,
Eleven pipers piping,
Ten lords a-leaping,
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree!
Samples: Like No Udder - I started with the Maids-a-Milking plate and it sorta took off from there ;)
Please use the IC86 keyword when uploading your card (no space b/n IC and the challenge number).
How to Play View the attached image. You may be inspired to recreate the piece - but that isn't necessary...get your inspiration from the colors, layout, or 'theme'. Don't worry - no card is 'wrong'! There are no rules, so let your creative juices run wild -- be *inspired* and go get stamping!
Don't forget about No Upload Sunday - Let's give the gallery moderators a day off and not upload on Sunday (unless, of course, you are a Fan Club member - yet another reason to spend a little money on your favorite site). Thank you.
Well, this looks interesting. I'll try to fit it in somewhere. I'm behind on the DD challenges and I'm sure I'll get farther behind this weekend. Didn't do Jen's challenge today yet either. Thanks, Karen.

Melody - I haven't even finished Thursday's challenges. I just hope I've done them all once this thing is over, lol! I'm catching up though...I've managed 5 cards today!! And considering the first two cards took hours upon hours to do each...I'm just glad my pace has picked up

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's having an 'interesting' time doing the Dare. It's only day 3 and I'm exhausted. I don't even want to think of the 8 challenges tomorrow.
Whew, this is gonna strain my brain............I still have Friday's cards for the challenge to do. I guess I'm gonna have to combine them! LOL Thanks for the challenge, Karen.

Woohoo! I got one done--pretty simple one, but a little on the elegant side. That will make up for the other one I've got in my head that is a little whacky. I hope I get it done too. Pear Haute
Still doing the DD challenges and not commenting as much as usual, but I sure am trying (and getting tired!) Hope you are too - encourage others as much as possible.
Thanks for looking - have a great weekend!

Thanks Karen for hosting the inspirational challenge! I love browsing to see what others have come up with. Lots of creativity going on. Thanks Rosanna for finding a great inspirational piece! :0) Gwen
The song is what my inspiration was so I picked the 12th day of Christmas with the drummers since I have a drummer son. Didn't have but one drum stamp and this is what I did with it: 12th day of Christmas by lazylizard at Splitcoaststampers

You had the old brain churning today, Karen! Great choices on the challenge---running short on 'my time' this week due to out-of-town guests so am combining as many challenges as my brain can handle today (lol)! This is my take: 3 French Hens

Good morning everyone, well here are my Nine Ladies Dancing. Thanks for the super fun challenge. I wasn't going to do this until I checked the stamp and saw that there were nine dresses. It was fate...I had to do the challenge. Thanks for looking! Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Here's a clipboard I did at a stampcamp today. we got to alter the design. The bottom of the # 11 plate kept coming into my head. It's kind of corney but THat's where I got my inspiration it in a nut shell. tfl
The inspiration challenges stretch me the most. I must love torture! JK. The pieces chosen each week are wonderful and I learn so much from others who choose to play!
