Hi from Seaton, IL. I am a new demonstrator. I have been stampin for a couple years off and on. I just decided to take the plunge and give it a try. I am looking for creative ideas to make workshop lap packets for my customers. I would also love any storage or transporting ideas if anyone has any. I would appreciate your ideas or even tricks of the trade. My open house is June 2nd and I want everything to be perfect. My upline is great help also.
Ok Hi from Seaton, IL again. Some day I will learn to get in the right forum. I am looking for ideas for workshop lap packets: folders, clipboards, What is creative or the best? Also the most reasonable since I am just starting out and don't want to spend a lot of $ right off at the beginning. Any ideas on storage at home and ways for toting supplies around to different workshops would be greatly appreciated. I have only been to 2 workshops in my life and I am going to be having one as an open house on June 2. Woohoo. Any other tricks of the trade anyone is willing to share? Thank you. Paula

Hi Paula! What a great thread. I will be watching for more ideas here myself. Anyway, for customer packets I bought some vinyl folders at Walmart. They were 52 cents each and have 4 corner slots on the inside left pocket for a business card. Plus I chose vinyl cause they'll last a little longer. And in the pockets I put an order form, hostess/demo/stamp club info sheet, a gift registry form and all the catalog supplements and specials. I have a clear plastic file box (lid has a carrying handle) that I put the folders and also all my files with extra copies/forms in. I take that to workshops. Also, I have a big rubbermaid box that holds everything else. Until I get my business built up more, that's all I need for now. Well I might have to take my card table, depending on table space at the location.
At my first workshop I thought I would play the "secret word" game. I chose "stamp" as the secret word and everytime I said it, the guests who said "you said the secret word!" got their name in a drawing for a free stamp. Well, they were very observant, as I said "stamp" alot! So we had our drawing midway through my presentation because my little basket was getting full. LOL If I do it again, I may choose a different word.
I'm always looking for game ideas! And also prize ideas (inexpensive ones preferably).
I wanted to add my pen holder idea. I took an empty vegetable tin can, stamped on cardstock and wrapped it around the can, secured with double-sided tape. Added some ribbon and fiber and wa-la, a cute pen holder/can to pass around when people need ink pens to write with.
Another thing I do at my workshops is a short devotion. TAC is a Christian-based company so I expand on that and have a short 3-5 minute devotion and lead in prayer. We have a lot of inspirational type stamps and I love using them to help this become somewhat of a ministry. God's given me so much, the least I can do is give back and try to glorify Him in my work.
