I have a friend whose hubby has been deployed to Kuwait for the next 12 months (at least). She asked if I could donate cards for her to send over to her hubby and his unit so that they can use them to send back home. I know that cards are really appreciated by the soldiers because most of the time, they can't sit and compose a letter home. They can jot a few lines in a card and get it out quickly to a loved one. If there are any demos out there who want to donate card fronts from swaps that are now retired, I will gladly make them into whole cards for my friend.
I'm looking from birthday, thank you and general type cards. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
If you would like to donate, just pm me and I'll give you my mailing address. Thanks in advance to all you great artists out there!!!
Hi..there is already a thread going around for awhile for the same type of thing. Cards for the troops to send to their loved ones...is this what you wanted?
I know I sent off 25 cards yesterday and 500 cards in all, have been sent to them.
You may not get a good response because of the other thread. Wish I could remember what the name was. but I can't.
I'm not doing this for an organization (and don't need anywhere near 500) ... I just want to give a stack to my friend so that she can send them to her hubby and his unit. I was just thinking that if demos had some that used retired sets that that could not use anymore I would take them.
The other poster may be talking about my thread where I asked for cards for troops also. There are a few bumping around. But there are so many stampers and we're always looking for another reason to stamp a card. one or two cards from a stamper will add up. My cards to you are in the mail. I'm sure you'll have a nice batch of cards to give him.
When do you want them by and please PM me your address. I am on vacation at the moment but love to support the troops. I did send quite a few out when my hubby was deployed but you know, even if there are 20 SCS who are SENDING them to the troops and collecting from others, there are still THOUSANDS of deployed soldiers everywhere.. I believe that if one is sending to Iraq and one to Kuwait, the two will never know that the other received any to begin with..
Sending this up to the top for you and subscribing all in one. Please PM me your address.
I wanted to post a sincere THANK YOU to all who have sent me cards/card fronts. I have sent one box out already and my friend is pleasantly surprised at the outpouring for this cause. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
As to a deadline, there really isn't one. I will accept donations for as long as you wonderful, kind, generous stampers want to send them. For convenience, I will post my snail mail address here in case I don't get to my pm's ...

If you can send envelopes great. If not, I will be glad to provide them. My friend was very happy with the first box I sent her. Her hubby's unit will be receiving them in a week or so!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this endeaver fruitful. It feels really good to know these brave men and women will have cards to jot a few words on to family and friends. The warmth on this site is overpowering!!!

(Friend of Traci whose hubby Todd and his unit will be receiving these!)
Bumping ... I have gotten sol many thank yous for my efforts in collecting these. The most welcome are blank cards, "miss you" cards and "thank you" cards. Also, the holidays are coming. If you have any old Christmas cards from years past, these brave soldiers will make very good use of them!!!
Hope..Have I sent you a box? I send out at least one or two boxes a week.....As you can see in my sigy...I am dedicated to this project.
Please let me know if you would like more from me.

bump ...
Our brave soldiers would LOVE cards to send home --- remember, Christmas is coming. If you have any extra Christmas cards or Christmas cards from the past, I will gladly take them off your hands!!!
Here is a link to a blog my friend has started to journal her efforts in getting cards to her hubby and other brave soldiers. If you've sent me cards, this is where they are going!!!! Thanks again for your support and all cards will be welcome.
I will be sending some cards also! I have a bunch made up and now I can go on a card making frenzy again!! And I am glad to help. God Bless Our Troops!
Thank you both sooooo much. I rec'd a thank you card from my friend's hubby. You cannot believe how appreciative these guys and gals are. My thought is ... they are risking their life to protect my freedom, the least I can do si stamp a few cards. My current task is Christmas cards. I am just doubling what I usually make (around 100) and sending them overseas. All help would be greatly appreciated!!!!
Mrs. Angotti....did you get my cards that I sent you? Hopefully you did and were they okay? Would you like me to send more? This is a wonderful thing that you are doing...and I enjoy being able to help. Pattylee
Be sure to check out the blog in post #20 to see how much your cards are truly appreciated. I did not realize she was listing the names of people that donated. If you've sent me cards, can you please PM me your name and location and I will forward them to Traci so that you will be on the list. Thanks for all the support for these brave men and women.
