Hello Everyone! As you can tell by my thread title I am new here and a guy stamper! Yeah! Anyhow I guess this is where I talk about my stamping history. Just so we can keep track of time here.. I am going to be 30 soon.I started to stamp during the time that the first Jurassic Park movie came out! Funny that I mention that because I noticed a stamp set that featured the dinos from the movie at the time and that was what made me pay attention to stamps. I myself passed on it and bought one of rainforest creatures instead. Then I was given another stamp of Pumba from the Lion King movie. I have to say that my stamp collection wasn't all that great at the time. I did use Pumba ( not sure of spelling ) for making cards and such.. but hardly used the rainforest stamps- pythons aren't great for all occassions - not yet anyhow!
Years went by and about maybe 6 years ago I was making a scrap book album for some friends that got married as a gift. Anyhow I noticed some really neat stamped cards in the store in a small .. honestly tiny section with a few stamps to buy. I passed at the time.. but a few weeks later bought a couple of House Mouse Stamps. Since then I started to buy more and more stamps.
It was about maybe 2 years ago that a co-worker and fellow stamper told me about SU! She hosted a party and I went. Since then I have been addicted! I have joined a stampers club where other fans of SU in my area at times get together for classes and exchange ideas! It is great fun!
I have to give a big thanks to my SU Guru, Ana! She has inspired me to sell my cards.. which if I am brave enough is on my list of things to try.
I am a huge fan of SU and have not really bought any other stamps since then that aren't from SU. I like how the inks, and paper all coordinate! It makes cards look professional and great!
Looking forward to meeting many of you!
And if I am brave I may post some card samples of mine.
YEH....a BOY stamper. Hi Matty and welcome. Where are you from? I think that just possibly you might be the first "boy" stamper here. Good for you. I always think my male friends have more talent than I do anyway!!Again, a huge welcome to you. Enjoy yourself....Shanon
Welcome Matty! It's great to have you join us! I sure hope you get brave enough to post your cards! I'd love to see them! Isn't stamping fun? I don't know what my life would be like without it! I've been stamping since 1996 and can't believe there was ever a time that I didn't stamp!
Enjoy yourself on this site! It will be a pleasure to have you with us!

Hi Matty! A BIG welcome from another SC Stamper! I hope you enjoy the friendships here AND decide to post some of your cards. I have been "collecting" the House Mouse stamps for years - they are one of my favorites!

Aww, ya made him blush!
Seriously though, you should see the wonderful creations he made with downloaded mini images from the SU website and powerpoint while he was in Iraq...that's quality creativity baby!
Hey, Matty! I'm so excited to see a guy stamper! You're quite the novelty here. Have you uploaded yet? Well, get on it!! You came to the right place! Can't wait to see your gallery. Welcome to SCS!!
This is insane! But oh so fun! I for sure thought there were at least a couple of other guy stampers out there! Oh well... in time they will come to the stamping side of the force!
I will for sure have to upload some of my cards.. after I learn how to do that. I will have my Stamp Guru pick some out with me. Here is a funny thing maybe you guys ( ha no pun intended ) might relate to:
Here I am having nothing to do.. ( I am a neat freak and clean my house twice a week ) so I decide to get working on some card samples. I am getting all brave and decide to attempt to make my first ever baby card. I usually go for the all occasion look. Anyhow so I am busy layering and adding ribbon and all.. and with one last layer to glue down.. I run out of my mono adhesive!
Blah! Oh well I guess my card can wait for another day. I was really brave in making it, cause I used pink paper.. and I detest pink.. but since this is for a potential client ( shop owner ) I need to give her a variety of choices.
I'll just wear sun glasses when I make more!
I am big into the earth tones... I guess it is the man in me. Hah!
sml1170 - I love your Yoda avatar! I could just see Yoda kicking back at the Jedi Temple with Mace making a few cards. Yoda would say something like " Stamp I will! Brings happiness to me it does!"
I am glad to see a guy on here. I knew there must be a few out there, glad you have the guts to post on here with all these women. I like ya already!
Can't wait to see the cards you upload....
Wow! Welcome, welcome, welcome! The Estrogen levels get a bit elevated at times on thisd site - we are thrilled to have a little testosterone in the mix! We want to see your samples - "SHOW ME THE INKY - er, I mean - MONEY!"
Hi, and welcome Matty. So glad to have you with us. My dd who is an avid stamper has taught her children to stamp also, and my little 6 yr old DGS loves to stamp. In fact she has to buy a new stampin scrub so she can have one of her own because her DS is always taking hers and she can never find it.

Welcome! If you like to stamp and you like to chat, you'll fit right in...though sometimes we spend so much time chattin' that we get behind on our stampin'! And our cleanin' and our cookin' and our laundry and our...oh well, you get the idea!
(Ladies, are we gonna clean up our act a bit now that we have a gentleman amongst us???)

My son is on here as krabearkub so Matty you're not the first but maybe you won't be the last either! krabearkub doesn't read the chitchat sections, he likes the techniques and the computer questions of helping someone figure out this new wonderful SCS format!

A BIG Welcome!!!!!! This is such a fun site. Everyone is so nice to answer your questions. You are going to love it here. Looking forward to seeing your creations. Again, welcome and have FUN!!!! Donna
Oh I LOVE this If Yoda was a stamper quote.... that is too funny " Stamp I will! Brings happiness to me it does!"
Welcome Matty! Nice to see a guy join us. My husband hasn't tried stamping yet... or if he does he's in the closet about it... 2 things that really fascinate him are heat embossing and polyshrink... I think it must have something to do with the fact that there's a power tool (heat gun) involved.
In fact, he found he needed a heat gun in his tool chest or whatever; so when SU came out with an updated one; I got that as a hostess benefit item and gave him my other one.

Welcome to you!!! I know of another guy stamper, a friend of mine's BIL, who took on the role of stamper when his wife passed away...isn't that SO cool? I'd like to think that DH would carry on what I have started, but I can't be so sure... looking forward to seeing your gallery!!!
