Technique Lovers Challenge #13
Please put TLC13 in the keyword sections when you upload your card.
This week's challenge is to create a Monochromatic card....chose just one color ink and cardstock, one neutral (white, vanilla or black) and that's it! Embellishments are allowed as long as they are the same color as the chosen color or the neutral.
Here's mine:

Have fun!

I just made one of those this weekend. Here's the link. I'll get busy on another one since I'm home sick waiting for my doctor's appointment and some good antibiotics!

Just so I don't cheat, is monochromatic considered just one color, or also different shades of one color? e.g. pale plum & perfect plum?

Here's my new one. I made an oops... I forgot to put TLC13 in the keywords. I'm blaming it on sickness and I'm sticking to it! ;)

I don't know about the criteria for this particular challenge, but from my art and design school classes, monochromatic is shades of the same colour. So your example of the two plums is monochromatic. I wouldn't, however, put together ruby red and rose red (for example) and call it monochromatic because one is a cool red and one a warm red (and therefore not the same colour). Hope that helps.

Monochromatic allows for variances as long it is of the same shade. Purples, blues, roses, etc.

Here's my card. It's my first monochromatic. I love it but the barely banana ink doesn't scan well. It's very pretty in person!!!!

Try setting a full sheet of black cardstock over the card and then scan...I have found it really helps.

Question.. can we make a scrapbook layout for the technique challenge? I know most people post cards, but I've noticed lately that I haven't done much scrapping and have been making a lot of cards instead.

Very cool challenge. i was just thinking a couple days ago this would be a good one for the next VSN! I guess this is one challenge I won't be able to combine with the color challenge! I actually was making these cards Sunday before I knew about the challenge so here they are....

Here is one of my all-time favorites that I originally made for TLC01 but uses a great combination of perfect plum and pale plum so qualifies for TLC13 too.

Here is one I made this morning with Mellow Moss. I really like this technique:

I love the response about not needing your iron. I feel that way about sewing machines. I actually sold mine NOW WHAT
Love the challenge Beth. Just crazy about all these great examples out here on this challenge, I am going to try again tomorrow.

So this is my first attempt at one of the challenges, and I have to say that I am quite impressed that you all can respond so quickly!!
Anyway, I had fun, and I know I probably wouldn't have ever tried this without the challenege to do so. Thanks!!
Here it is:
