Challenge Hostess: Melody (lacyquilter)
Challenge Keyword: SEP07VSNPre1
Challenge Time: Friday, June 29, 2007 8:00 PM Eastern Time
Unfortunately, Taylor (stagccva) had a family emergency involving an elderly relative and is unable to be here, so she asked me to fill in for her. Im sure her family would appreciate your prayers.
The credit for this challenge idea goes to Taylor.
Taylor wrote: "Right about now, when the Virginia summers get super hot and humid, is when I start dreaming of fall. My flowers are drying out, my grass is crunchy, and the air is....icky. I'm longing for cool nights, and that smell that comes with fall - crispness. One of the things I look forward to the most, and what signals the arrival of fall for me, is when the leaves start to change colors. I love it!"
~~~
Some of the things that I look forward to in the fall are burning leaves, hayrides, picking pumpkins, raking leaves into a big pile and I think yall know what follows. Fall is one of my favorite seasons.
So our challenge for you:
Think about what you look forward to with fall's arrival. Is it back to school? Fall festivities? Special trips? Whatever it is, make a card about it! You can use any colors, any sketch, any stamps, and any embellishments - nothing is off limits!
The keyword for this challenge is SEP07VSNPre1.
Other reminders: The same rules apply as do with VSN. As with all VSN challenges, please create only 1 card; keep to the 45 minute time limit; and please add the keyword SEP07VSNPre1 when you upload your card. All submissions must be uploaded by end-of-day Sept. 6th!
Uploading Instructions:
* You have 45 minutes to complete this challenge.
* Please remember to put in the correct keyword when uploading your image. If you are using additional keywords, you must separate them with a comma. Copying and pasting the CHALLENGE Keyword is recommended to avoid typos.
* It is also recommended that you post a link to your creation in the chat thread just in case the gallery is being testy.
When I click on the link to view all from this challenge mine doesn't show up. Do I have to wait for the approval for it to show up there?
Even for fan club members, who have instant approval, it takes a little while for the card to show up in the search (or if you click on the code in the keywords). But, I think you do need to have approval first as well.
Ok, finally got to sit down and do my card. Just a basic card. The invisible stamper in my house needs to start putting my supplies back where they belong.
Thanks for hosting the challenge in Taylor's absence!
Here is my card -- made inbetween bathtime, washing up dishes, etc., etc., etc.
Send that invisible stamper over to clear up my mess too, would you? Or just send Joni. I've seen pics of her stamping area. Her photo is in the dictionary under 'organized.'
I'm a little late to the party (that's the downside of being a west-coaster!) but I hope to get to this tonight or first thing tomorrow!
Hugs to Taylor and family, and thanks to Melody for hosting in Taylor's absence!
Crud! I'm out of town and not able to be in the fun tonight. In fact, won't be back until Sunday. Oh well, I'll just have to enjoy everyone elses projects.
Bonnie, you know you can still play. You have plenty of time to upload, since VSN isn't until Sept. I'd love to see what you come up with.
