Someone was worried about me wearing my Just Jeans out! Not to worry I won't wear out the rubber, BUT my sticker on top of the stamp is wearing out! Mostly because I sit on it when I stamp it! I kid you not. My butt works real good in getting even pressure on the backgrounds. Skrap and Barbmom5 will vouch for this. If the table is sturdy (really sturdy) I sit on my background stamps!
Oh and if they should ever, ever, ever retire Just Jeans, I may have to quit stamping! What would I do without Just Jeans Otter005? I can't believe you even mentioned retiring that set. I will be depressed for the rest of the day just thinking those bad, bad thoughts!
Lana, you need to stop wearing those jeans with the rivets on the pockets! I'm sure they are contributing to the wear on the top of this poor stamp! And when you sit on it, stop rotating! I know those guys on Happy Days were always saying, "Sit on it!" or "Sit on it and rotate!" but you weren't supposed to take them literally!
I LOVE Just Jeans myself! I haven't played with it enough, so they obviously can't retire it yet. There are still frontiers to be conquered using it that I have not yet thought of (but I will!)
Of course, I was upset to lose Antique Cracking this past year and I don't feel they have come up with an adequate alternative for that aged look.
My upline has worn the sticker off of her speckle stamp from Itty Bitty Backgrounds...that is one valuable stamp, especially now that we don't have our InkWorx Air Art Tool.
I was going to start a low-carb diet tomorrow, but if it is going to be a detriment to my stamping, I'll make the sacrifice and keep my big caboose! Thanks Lana! I'm going to have another bowl of pasta now!
You are obsolutely hilarious! I can not believe you sit on that stamp! I have yet to try that one! Also, really never mentioned just jeans until I saw all the great cards you've recently loaded. You're so inspiring..butt and all! ~
I quess that word "retire" is like "quiet" affectionately know as the "Q" word at my place of employment! (labor and delivery unit) :? I by all means do not wish Just jeans to retire! I sent my first order with 30% of and Just Jeans was on it....all thanks to you!!! And I would hope that IF it ever does "R" that you would contiune stamping! The stamping world would lose two inspriations...Just jeans and LunarLana!! :(
Lana, I just got the Just Jeans background stamp because of you. I have seen some of the awesome things you have done with it. I have some stamps that are wearing like that too but not because I have sat on them! LOL! Maybe you should change your avatar to the picture of your Just Jeans worn out stamp!

I forgot to mention, that the idea to sit on the background stamps was all my daughter's idea. I thought she was nuts until I tried it.
Oh and then I have to tell you, I stamped 16 Just Jeans Backgrounds this morning and then another 16 Feligree backgrounds over the top of that, for a total of 32 backgrounds. I told my daughters that I was worried about getting a bruise on my butt from the corner of the background stamps. They thought I was nuts as usual. I haven't checked, butt (he he he) I think I am okay. I even stamped some Going Gray and Only Orange Just Jeans after that. Oh, and some Ballet Blue and Glorious Green Just Jeans after that. I just can't put that dang stamp away.
Does anyone need to know how to stamp the Just Jeans so that you get a good image? I have tricks.
Lana!! I can't pull my jean stamp out without thinking of my sweet Lana, but now.... I'll be thinking of your butt too! I've got coverage in that dept. Thanks for the great tip!!
BUT my sticker on top of the stamp is wearing out! Mostly because I sit on it when I stamp it! I kid you not. My butt works real good in getting even pressure on the backgrounds.
OMG never heard of anyone that did that.. leave it to you my dear to sit on your background stamps. Your hands not big enough or what??? hehehehe Oh well, I have never even wore out my stickers on any of my stamps like that either!!
Obviously Lana puts more mileage on her stamps than anyone else! LOL
I bought it (but haven't used it yet).....because of Lana.
Today, in honor of Day One of I Love Lana week.......I'm stampin' my JJ stamp today!
Everyone else should too!

Instructions on how to properly ink your Just Jeans stamp:
Okay, some demos will tell you to never, never drag the ink pad across your stamps. Guess what? I am not one of them. To properly ink your Just Jeans, I take the ink pad in my hand and drag it across the stamp in sections. First I drag it across the left side twice, then the right side twice. At this point, you may not have the whole surface covered with ink. That is okay. Then I turn the stamp 90 degrees and drag the left side twice, then the right side twice. I again turn it back 90 degrees and drag again in the two sections. Every ink pad is different so you may have to make some adjustments here and there butt (he he) this will get you going in the right direction. Some ink pads are inkier (yes that is a word) and some are more caved in in the middle. You can just work around that. No biggie! Then once you have your Just Jeans inked, place your stamp down on your paper. Place your butt on top (on a sturdy table of course), and then remove yourself carefully. Usually the paper sticks to the stamp (this is how you know you did it right). Just peal off and admire your work!
Oh Lana dear.. . you have such a way with words... I have a few pads that seem caved in so much that I usually drag most of my stamps to get that proper inking all over the stamps. I have never had anyone tell me not to drag the stamps over the pad.
Cami, you know I'm always trying to think of new techniques for you gals to try! I hope my behinder will be okay after the Just Jeans day I had today! LOL!
I was going to start a low-carb diet tomorrow, but if it is going to be a detriment to my stamping, I'll make the sacrifice and keep my big caboose! Thanks Lana! I'm going to have another bowl of pasta now!
I'm SCREAMING over here! You all are SOOOO funny! With the size of my butt, I should be turning out works like Monet, Michelangelo, and Picasso!

Lana --- You have me rolling here! Maybe we should have your girls take a pic of you doing this technique.
I have tried to use the Just Jeans (based on your inspiration) and it always looks like crap. Do you cut your paper size first or do you stamp an entire 8 1/2 x 11 piece and then cut? Thanks!
I'm thinking you should give us a tip a day for this entire week considering it is LOVE LANA WEEK!!
I know!! I'm thinking I should buy ANOTHER just jeans stamp so that I can do one with each bun!!
I plan to have Just Jeans on my next order - thank you Lana - now I see I need 2 - thanks Cami. What a visual! I have plenty of behinder to cover it; may need a sturdier table. No low-carb for me either, Ann!
Princess-please refer to page 1 of this thread where I give exact instructions on the technique of butt stamping with Just Jeans. Yes, I do cut the paper down to size-backgrounds size 5 1/4" x 4" (no that is not my butt measurement!)
Lana
P.S. princess, please do not say "crap". This is a family show!
Although I am not butt challenged, for those of you in the TH club (tiny hiney club) you can also stand on the stamp. Ink it up and put a mouse pad down, the paper, then your stamp face down. Stand on the stamp and you will have a good image. If it is still not dark enough you need to eat more until it works. By then you can try the butt method.
Wow Lana, leave it to you to help remain on my butt and get creative!

I've been a busy stamper today! The Just Jeans is on the table. I swear I'm gonna use it today........I still have a few hours to come in under the wire (not under the wear! HA!) and still live up to my promise to use it today!!
Ahhh......yes, SCS truly is the place to be...if you can't be stampin!

Cami! Love the dual visual ... hahahahaha
Camsmom! Alas, I am no longer a member of the TH Club - hopefully, I'm not alone in that. Lana! Oh dear Lana! Thank you for spreading the revelations of Just Jeans. Indeed, I am convinced (I've been convinced for a while now!)... .... JJ is definitely on my next order.
And if anyone else out there has missed this thread, I pity them. That's what we get when we try to live without a computer within reach! What GREAT giggles here!!!!

Awww be nice to Daven! He was only responding to Dorinda! I didn't see a faux pas there!
OK, aside from all the giggling & very scary imagery, I'd like to give you all another couple of ideas to save your butts from stamp corner trauma. Use your brayer with the rubber insert & ink it up good on your stamp pad. Have your JJ background rubber side up & roll the color onto it. Now take 1/4 sheet CS & carefully place it on top of your inked JJ. Take a piece of scratch paper & carefully put it on top of the CS. Now carefully rub the scratch paper with your fingers, making sure you get every little part of the bg rubbed to the CS. Viola! Beautiful JJ BG CS without trauma to your butt!
Another tip, if your ink pads are concave, REINK THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!
