'Twas The Night Before
'Twas the night before Catty arrival,
and all through the house,
Every creature was stirring,
Even the mouse.
The Post It's were hung,
by the desk with care,
In hopes that Mr. Brown
soon would be there.
My tushie was nestled
all snug in my bed,
While visions of stamp sets
danced through my head.
And DH in his boxers
And I in my jams
Had just settled down
For a loooooooong evening nap.
When out on the lawn,
there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed
to see what was the matter.
The sun, on the breast
of a new-fallen day,
Could it be? Could it be?
I slept the whole night away?
Away to the window
I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters
and threw up the sash.
When what to my wondering
eyes should appear,
But a big brown truck
pulling itself out of gear.
With a strapping young driver
so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment
it must be driver Nick.
More rapid than eagles
the boxes they came,
And he whistled and shouted
and called them by name.
The Catties, The Catties,
The Catties are here!
Don't knock me over
Please be a dear.
To the top of the porch
is where I'll meet you, that's all,
Dash away, Dash away
Dash away all.
He sprang to his truck
and gave me a wink,
Saying, I'll be back next week,
to bring your new stamps and ink.
But I heard him exclaim
as he drove out of sight,
Enjoy your new book,
It's waaaaaay Dynomite!!!!
Inspired by Clement C. Moore's "Twas The Night Before Christmas"
Ok, maybe a little cheesy, but it came to me in the middle of the night last night

 Thanks guys
Some of the words come from the poem directly, I have the book and used it as a reference. I never really realized how long the poem actually is! I cut a bunch out.

Too cute! I've spent the past few hours trying to convince myself that no, I really do not need everything I've marked. What a fun evening I've had...a good change after day 3 of being a single parent while DH is at Scout Camp.
