I have been looking at this item ($27.99 at M, Joann doesn't even carry!) Is it worth it? I don't mind using my hole punch then my eyelet setter and hammer, it actually helps get out some of my creative frustrations! LOL
What are your thoughts??
I got mine at HL with a 40% off coupon- totally worth that, and worth full price, but I wouldn't pay it.
More than a relief from the old way of setting eyelets (easier on the hands, quieter, quicker) it's fewer things to keep track of (one tool, not a hole punch, setter, mat, and hammer) and has TWO different sized hole punches- plus it will set many sizes of eyelets and snaps.
I paid full price for mine at Archiver's ($26.99) and it was well worth the price, BUT if I had it to do over again I would have purchased it w/ a Michael's 40% coupon (my Michael's didn't have them in stock at the time I went to buy one, and I wanted it now!:rolleyes
I LOVE my Crop-A-Dile! I purchased it while I was out of town on business and my friend and I happened upon a holiday sale at a craft store. Every shopper that night received a 40% coupon and I bought the Crop-A-Dile with it. It's one of the best purchases I've made -- at first I was skeptical because I did need a little practice - but now I wouldn't do without it.
I have rheumatoid arthritis and the Crop-A-Dile makes it so easy to set eyelets and punch a hole in chipboard --even pretty thick chipboard books. I just couldn't use those other kinds with a spring or push-in action -- my hands can't take that -- so, I left my little hammer for the Crop-A-Dile, although I still use my hammer and setter when I want an eyelet in the middle of a 12x12 page!
It is easy to use, but my main complaint is that it doesn't have much of a reach. I find that I still have to punch holes and set eyelets more often with my old tools.

I just bought the lime green one with the little eyelet box using a 40% off coupon from JoAnn.com. And I LOVE it!!! I say go for it...you will be amazed, but do keep your old tools for setting things that are a stretch from the side of your project!

I totally agree with what HappyHeart said in her post. But, for general use within it's reach it's MARVELOUS! Fantastic for making the holes equal distance from the edges. I'd say go for it -- especially if you have a coupon! If you love adding eyelets (large and small), or snaps to your creations you'll use it alot.

Thanks!
there are too many other things that i want... even at half price $14.00 would buy some CB folders or something.
i don't mind using my punch, setter and hammer either!
I have avoided using eyelets because I can not seem to set them right, I always hit too hard. I heard about the Crop-a-dile on SCS and headed for my LSS to see if they carried it. They let me try it out and it was easy as pie. I almost bought one but it only came in pink and she said they were also going to get it in lime green so I decided to wait. Now I'm glad I did because I'd rather buy one from SU!. I'm signing up to be a demo in July and I want the SU one to show customers. I can't wait to get it and play around with eyelets!
I got mine with a 40% coupon also. I am using way more eyelet embellies now. And I like to pull thin ribbon through the eyelets. Totally cool.

I have the green one and LOVE it! I bought the original hammer type making memories one years ago, then got the mm spring loaded thingy, but it was still loud...and hurt my hands (i have RA), but when they came out with the green one in a case with all those eyelets, i couldn't resist! i'm so glad i bought it (with a coupon!) b/c i can use it while the kids are sleeping (it's silent!) and it doesn't hurt my hand! yippee! i'm using it, in some way, on every card these days! My newest motto? "Save adhesive, use an eyelet!"
