I'm running a little late today, didn't sleep well last night and having computer problems this morning...but I got my card done and I think the computer is fixed by DH now. He saved me the junk mail that I used in this card, want a guy!
Good morning Ladies...another Great Challenge, Love it! Well, I don't keep junk mail laying around so, I used a butterfly image off a note pade...hope that counts!
Man, it took me forever digging in the garbage just to find any usable junk mail. And then I had to search for the right stamp! Then I put the clips & ribbon on & found out I had clipped both layers of the card together. Also had a hard time getting a good picture... the flash would almost completely wipe out the stamped words. Finally had to take a pic without flash. Here is the big one.
Loved that challenge! I riffled through the mail hoping to find something great. I found an envelope that had a printed pattern on the inside, for privacy. It went great w/ brilliant blue. I will never look at junk mail the same again! Here is my happy card. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
OK.... I admit, I'm a bit 'slow'.... I JUST NOW noticed that today is a mini "VSH" day... HOW KEWEL! Only problem is, I might not get much else done, and I have a lot to do.... company coming tonight!
Anyway, I did find a House Mouse catalog laying around, and used pictures from it to make this card: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Ok, I couldn't decide which challenge to do first, so I combined two of them and came up with this card using an image from junk mail and only black ink:
This is inspired by the Life is good t-shirts, which I saw advertised at my local sporting goods store. I already had this in mind last night, so thanks for the push to actually do it.
Phew! I did it, but I'm not sure I like the results. I didn't use paper or stickers from the junk mail, but I used the layout and color scheme from an Estee Lauder free gift add.
I really like the idea of using junk mail, though. Thanks for the challenge.
I haven't made anything yet for this challenge but was viewing the gallery looking for some inspiration when it hit me....Not only are some of the people on this site more creative than I am, you guys get better junk than I do. I am in awe of some of the creations you have done with junk mail. Great job with everything everybody. I have some household chores and things to do with the kids today but I plan on creating something tonight. Hopefully something fun that I can work with will come in the mail today.
I just did this for the 1st time last week so I hope it is OK if I post them here. I got a big catalog-type circular from Target advertising their Spring home collections. There were so many pretty curtains, wallpaper, bedspreads, flowers, ect that I was inspired to use them as background papers for a few cards. Here they are:
 Can Anyone tell me how to create a link right from my card title, istead of showing the whole url?
Thanks
I've just learned this. Let's see if I can explain it correctly. Anybody else have a link or can tell it better, feel free to jump right in.
I go to the advanced posting (I'm not sure if you HAVE to go advanced, but that is the way my DD taught me.) See the brackets at the beginning of the url? Change it to be this: [url=http bla bla bla] Name of Card
Then you have to end it with bracket/urlbracket like it is in your link. If I type it right here it will think it is a link. (This works like a period for the 'puter and it knows that's the end of the link.)
NO spaces after the brackets and after your card name when you put the next brackets.
Shebone, if you don't understand my explanation, ask it in the Start Here forum and see if you get a better answer. People are mostly finished looking here, so it won't be getting much traffic from now on.

Oh, great. I've invented Junk Mail Peer Pressure. That's all we need is to envy each other's junk mail--ROTFL.
Finally had time to play with this challenge. I made something for the LSC59D also using the same junk mail and scanned both cards together in one upload. This was fun.
My 3 grandchildren, I love being a Grandma! My profile picture is a 5 generations picture with my granddaughter. I'm the one in the pink. lol (Back Right) Too fun.
