I'm looking for a little more input on this whole craft show thing...I am really thinking a lot about it now, and am excited to start making products to sell. However, I have had a lot of people ask how I am going to price things, and have put a little thought into it. However, I have not fully costed out my materials (since I have a lot on hand, and don't necessarily have costs associated with several items at the moment), nor have I figured out my time, or tried to do anything fancy, like spread the cost of stamps and ink over several projects, etc.
With those caveats stated, I am thinking about the following prices:
Color It Thank You notes--8 per package with decorated envelopes and 4 crayons in tagged cello bag for $10
Tile Coasters--4 with tied ribbon for $15
Snowman Soup without mug--$2 (I think...)
Snowman Soup with mug--$5 (depending on the price of the mug and if I am allowed to sell the mugs--the show has a hand crafted items only policy)
Small Gable Boxes with matching tag $3
Med Gable Boxes with matching tag $5
monogrammed stationary 10 cards w/envelopes for $15
Individual cards $2 each or 6 for $10
I use to sell my cards for $1.00 each with a free envelope. THey sold like hotcakes but I didn't feel like I was getting what I deserved!
So, now I sell them for $1.50 each with a free envelope (buy a pack of 100 envelopes at Walmart for $6.00).
I also sell them in packages wrapped in the cellophane bages...2 for $3.00 with envelopes or 4 for $5.00 with envelopes. So far everyone likes the 4 for $5.00 deal...and I feel a little bit better about the profit.
I'm not sure if you'll be able to sell the individual cards for $2.00 only because Halmark and Walmart do sell cards now for $.99! You'd have some tough compitition. You could however charge $2.00 for the cards that have more embelishments and are more time envolved.....just let your customers know why the price point is higher.
Oh ya- don't forget to Copyright Stampin' Up! on anything with SU! artwork! I copyright on the back of all of my cards and on the price label!!
I personally don't sell my cards, but I have several lady customers who do sell. They sell their cards for $3-$5 each (depending on embellishments). They actually sell tons too. Two of them are teachers and do well with steady sales. The other three just sell in their office buildings and they all do quite well too. I guess it all depends on the cost of living in your part of the country. AND after all...HANDMADE CARDS ARE MUCH BETTER THAN HA**MARK mass produced ones! Wouldn't you agree?! Think about what they charge per card.
Thank you for all of your feedback--I am still debating the price of the individual cards. I currently sell them to friends for $1.00 a card--which is maybe a little undervalued. However, my friends buy a ton that way(yesterday one friend bought 50 cards for her and her mom...), because it is a good deal.
I guess it comes down to how many do I want to sell--maybe I will compromise at $1.50 a card or 4 for $5.00 like Paris recommended....

I sell single cards for $2.00 a piece. I package them in cello bags with an envelope and they fly out the door. I have to replenish the stock weekly. As for the prices of other items, it sounds like you have them right where they need to be. Good luck!
That's kinda high, Wal-Mart has 24 pack of crayons on sale for .33.
I bought a couple boxes, and I'm gunna go back for more, unless I find them cheeper on-line.
I devided out the boxes I did buy. I had a couple left over (Black, white, grey, brown) that I'm gunna use for crayon resist.
Then I'm packaging these with my color it cards.
Red, Orange, yellow, Green, Blue, Purple
Scarlet, Yellow Orange, Dandelion, Yellow Green, Indigo, Blue Violet
Violet Red, Red Violet, Red Orange, Apricot, Green yellow, Cerulean
Final cost is .11 for each package.
Maybe try Crayola directly.

I know if you check some of the online art supply places that they sell class packs of crayons--I don't know what the pricing would be--but you would get like 30 of 6-8 colors..that way you wouldn't have a ton of leftover undesirable colors from boxes;)
I would try Dick Blick, Sax, Nasco--I'm sure there are more but that is all I can think of now

I just bought those from Oriental Trading company, I got 4 dozen boxes of 6 pack of crayons for $6.95. I love it that they have their own individual boxes and they are so cute. They will look awesome in the cards when I get them done. I had to add to my order for Sunday School crafts so what the heck! lol
As far as the mugs go, what about getting those mugs we used to sell. They are plastic & you remove the insert and can add a stamped image inside. They have them for about $1 at Mike's. I made those last year and put flavored coffee and chocolate dipped spoons or Snowman Soup inside. Then wrapped them in cello bags with a matching tag. I used the Espress Yourself set and made them for teacher gifts last year.
Boy ~ Pams idea of these color it cards (she was the original poster of the idea) sure is taking off!! It certainly is a great idea! I'm sure they'll be a great seller. Great stocking stuffer!
