TLC117 - Crayon Resist
With all the "doodly" type stamps so popular right now, Crayon Resist is the perfect technique to accent those fun swirls and doodles.
This is a repeat of
TLC09 , and you can find lots of examples there.
You can find the tutorial
here.
Here are two samples I found yesterday:
ink|outside|the|box created this stunning example:
//www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/557030?si=crayon%20resist
cre8tveldy created beautiful highlights on the flowers:
//www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/524869?si=crayon%20resist
And one of mine from two years ago....
//www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/101497?cat=500&ppuser=11007
Instead of crayons, you can also use birthday candles! If you don't have glossy cardstock, try it on regular cardstock...it still works!
Please upload to the Crayon Resist category under Technique Spotlight in the gallery and use the keyword TLC117.
Have fun!!

I think I will play, too. It's funny because even when I was teaching stamping I never taught this technique. I'm excited to try!!

I edited the OP to say that you can also use birthday candles! They are cheap and easy to find!

I've always intended to use this technique but just never got around to it. With 8 and 10 year olds in the house, I have PLENTY of crayons to work with. Getting busy! Thanks Beth! Nice to have you back again. Thanks again Valerie for the fun inspiration!

Welcome to the challenges! Yes, they are quite addicting!
I have no crayons in my house (probably due to the fact that I have no kids....lol), but I am heading to Target this morning so I'll see what I can come up with later today.
Thanks for the fun challenge!

Oh Beth! The first time I did this was the SoCal Mania...and it is FUN! It reminds me of some kind of magic drawing, since the resist appears after inking. Gotta do this one for sure!
