I like the company of either the TV or music when I stamp. I'm usually in my stamp room alone and I get lonesome.

I like to have some noise -- since the computer is in my stamp room, sometimes I'll pop a favorite DVD in and just *listen* to a movie. Otherwise, I usually have my ipod going.
I usually stamp with music but lately I've been playing "Phantom of the Opera" movie because it doesn't really take a lot of visual attention like a TV program or other movie would.

It depends on how much chaos has been in the house lately and if I need quiet or to block out the noise upstairs so i don't feel guilty for hiding in the basement. But most of the time I have to listen for the kids.
If I'm alone...music (which is from the classic rock channel on our tv). If I'm not alone, since my stamping space is at one end of our finished basement family room, I will listen to whatever DH is watching on tv.
my stamp room is side by side of the family room so the TV is sometimes going or music or the kids playing a board gam so I always have background nosie....I am not a fan of complete silence when I stamp

Stamping is my refuge away from the 'hustle and bustle' of life! I love my quiet time spent on my own and I never feel lonesome. My Dh has been at home for this last year and I can't wait for him to get back to work and let me have a 'silent' house again. I do hear the birds and the rain when our weather's not up to much and for me that's more than enough noise!
Ok, I am strange. I know that. I am not your 'typical' mom, wife OR stamper I don't listen to what a lot of people consider 'normal' music. When I am in the stampin' groove I have the stereo on LOUD...the louder the better... usually something like Marilyn Manson, Evanescence, Drowning Pool....Loud angry music makes me block out everything else...I focus on the music and my task at hand. I listen to the same stuff when I clean.

I would love to have t.v., radio, or books on tape, but my stamping "studio" is right outside of my kids rooms (read: large hallway) so sounds are usually a no-go.
I always have to have the TV on. I know, I know its a very bad habit, especially with kids, but I've always been that way. Like now, my focus is on the computer, but my TV is on.
My actual room has no sounds in it - but I can hear the low roar of the boys on their computers in the next room over. I used to have a TV in my stamping room, but I tended to get distracted.
I can only imagine what a quiet place to stamp would be like but I think it would be great. One or two TVs, at least one source of CDs and a guitar usually fill the air around here, my choice or not!

I like to stamp with the radio on. There is a radio program on from 12-1 that I like to listen to and I try to stamp then. Lots of music and limited interruptions.

I have two doggies in here with me and I also like having music or TV/Movie on in the background. I don't actually have a TV in my craft room but the computer doubles for a TV if I want to watch something available online or if I have a DVD

it's. oh. so quiet
it's. oh. so still
you're all alone
and so peaceful until...
you ring the bell
bim! bam!
you shout and you yell
hi ho ho!
I should listen to more Bjork while I stamp, but instead I usually just don't think to put anything on at all before I get all inky wid it. Sometimes I've tried to stamp with an episode of Ghost Whisperer on but no stamping happens in that situation!
I cannot stamp or be creative without music. On the other hand music can also stop the creative juices dead in their tracks, if something in the music doesn't swing in harmony with the general mood of the day/moment.

I've always needed something in the back ground to tune out, when I would study, do work at home, and now craft. I don't get much time to do that anymore because I have a little one and you can't tune that out.

I stamp in my living room and we have 3 tiny, barkey little dogs. When the TV is on, they are distracted and don't bark madly at every little sound from outside. So the TV is turned on to CNN or MSNBC when I get up and stays on all day.
By the way, we have 5 grown kids and 16 grandchildren. I don't think I know what quiet is, lol.

I would find tv too distracting, but I love background music on while I'm stamping. My favourite stamping music is Aloha Joe Radio that I listen to on the internet. I crack the window and the breezes flow in gently and for a while I forget that I'm stuck in the middle of the prairies!

I can go either way. My room is a mess but when I do stamp in there, it's generally quite. I prefer to not be isolated so I lug my stuff downstairs and stamp on our island/bar in between the kitchen and living room and the tv is usually on while I'm stamping (along with noise from the kids/dh/dogs/etc)

I always have the TV on but I don't really "watch" it. I am not really a music person.
Except for when you sing do do dee do do.... LOL
I prefer quiet or maybe soft music, but no tv. We converted a spare bedroom into an office - computers on one side, my stamp desk and storage on the other. Fine when I'm alone in the house, but when the boys (dh & ds) play computer games those sounds just ruin my stampin' space.
