Default What would you give to a person who never saw SU before?

I have a co worker (just started at this place) who scrapbooks and goes to the huge scrapbooking convention but when I mentioned SU she acted like she knew nothing about it. I'm not sure if she had even heard of it before...

What would you give her to intrigue her interest about SU....catty, mini?
I dont know her that well so I dont want to be that pushy..but I want her to maybe come to something or have a party because it would benefit her..

What do you think?

Do you have a scrapbook of your own (using SU stuff) you can bring in to show her? Have you seen her scrapbooks to gauge her style? I'm just thinking the way to pique her interest is to show your own work and let her ask about it...

I would give her catty and tell her that you thought she might enjoy all of the ideas in it. Before you know it she will be calling you!

As a huge scrapbooker myself one of the things that turned me on to Stampin' Up! was the nice cardstock & DS paper. Does your friend own a diecut machine?? I'm asking this because I used to stamp in my scrapbooks but now I really don't at all. I just use the paper and embellishments from SU in it. She also might like the alphabet sets. Before I owned the Cricut I used those all the time. I guess it depends on the tools she already owns. Maybe you could ask her.

Good luck!

awww heck, I never heard of SU either until I joined SCS. I've yet to actaually see and touch any of it for real. So . . . I'm interested in this thread to see what people recommend as a good intro to SU products.

I was an avid scrapper also. A fellow scrapper and neighbor turned SU demo and invited me to a few things. I wasn't able to go at first. Also, there was no way I was going to stamp in my precious albums...not archivally safe!! Then, she invited me to an all day stamping camp to make 20 cards. Okay, I could use 20 cards so I went. I had a blast and loved the catty. I really liked finishing all those cards in a short time span. My scrapbooks were going really slow because the time I had to spend on them was getting more scarce. So.....I joined her monthly club, joined SCS and I've been hooked ever since. Another plus to stamping, I could share it with my kids on occassion which is something I don't do with scrapbooking. My stamping supplies and my scrapbook supplies are still kept separate to this day. I still don't stamp in my scrapbooks!

You know, I too was solely a scrapbooker and what turned me on to SU were the alphabet sets. I started with those, and like the previous poster, was invited to a demonstration and fell in love with the card making! I did not think I was going to like it as much as I did, either!

Maybe you could make her a "Welcome to the Company-you-work-for" card. She might get interested just by seeing how cool your card is! That would spark conversation and then you could pull out your mini or a soon-to-be old catalog and show her the scrappin' stuff or the simply sent sets.

Good luck sharing the addiction with her!

I also love the simply scrappin kits, that is what I gave my scrapbook only sister! She loved them and now she is interested in stamping more! I also second or third the idea of an alphabet set, although the simply scrappin kits are so much cheaper! I also made a few cards out of one kit and gave them to my sister, she absolutely loved them! Good luck!

Ya gotta find yourself a demo!!!! You will have a blast with it! If you lived closer to me I would introduce you to my demo, but I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to find one in Wpg. Give it a try girlfriend!

It was being given a small stamp set and a ink spot and some of the water color pencil crayons in a little bag with an example...and when I did this at home knowing I could on my own I was extatic!!!!!

I won them at a women's conferince where I took a class on stamping and fell in love and now am a Demo...*S*
