how funny, i just cut out a bunch of these. i am sure there is no specific way to do it , you just play until you find your size. mine are for kids, so i cut an 8x11 sheet into four parts, just the size of cards, then i roll it into the shape of a toilet paper roll and adhere with double sided tape.
i then flatten one side going horizontal and staple, then flatten the other side going the opposite direction; vertical and crimp shut. so quick and easy. oh yeah, decorate before assembly and dont forget to fill up with candy.. i have made empty ones before, and had to go back. DUH ME!

I had a duh moment here. I had never thought about stapling the side.

Kelli - Hi! We were in Oki from 98-02 and loved it! Wish we were there now With the humidity there, you may want to try the new sticky strip that is on page 224 of the catty. Mono will have a hard time keeping the container stay shut but these strips work wonderfully.

Happy Stampin!

Rather than staple them I use the mini brads and pucnh two holes at the bottom, fill the container, pinch the top and use 2 more mini brads. I can also attach a ribbon and tag through the holes this way.

I have done these and sealed the bottom. Then used a velcro dot to close the top. Then they can be re-used.

I have done them with Vellum for a Shower Favor - laced the top two punches with blue or pink ribbon.

They are little containers shaped like the little sour cream packets you get with a baked potato at a fast food restaurant or cafeteria. They are kind of a triangle-ish looking thingie. (How's that for specific?)

Here's how I do mine:
- 1/4 sheet of cardstock stamped and decorated.
- Mono-adhesive 3 sides (2 short and one long). I run the mono across the entire length of the side for this particular project, not little strips.
- Roll like a toilet paper tube sealing the long side.
- Pinch one short edge closed. It already has mono on it.
- Fill with a treat or suprise. Careful b/c the open end has mono on it.
- Turn tube 1/4 turn and pinch closed the open end. This is so the flat sealed edged on one end is going a different direction than the other end.
- Crimp both ends - this helps keep it closed.

I use them at place settings for holidays, birthday parties, Girl Scout events, etc. You can also punch a hole in one end add ribbon or cord and make an ornament out of it. We used them last year for an Advent Calendar. I think I will do them for Halloween this year.

Hope this helps!

The new copper and silver designer series vellum from SU! looks amazing when used -- would make beautiful wedding or bridal shower favors.

I must admit I was a little confused when I first read the title of this thread. I was waiting to find out how you could use a sour cream container in stamping. LOL This is such a cute idea. I've got to make some. Thanks for sharing. I love SCS, such wonderful ideas.

Default Sour Cream Container

I made sour creat containers for my daughter's Valentine's Day party and had a problem with the mono keeping them closed. We ended up stapling them, which made me a little nervous for 1st graders. Now that SU has the sticky tape I have made a few more and they work PERFECTLY. I also use the crimper on the bottom - makes them look even more realistic.

I use Scotch brand double sided permanent tape to hold it together, works great!
