I'm going to Seattle, WA, to visit family this summer and I was wondering if anyone could tell me where the good 'stampin' supply stores are? I live in Southeast Kansas and to me it's a treat to drive an hour to the nearest Hobby Lobby...so I can't wait to check out what Seattle has!
In Westlake Center there is a stamp store called Impress. They carry their own line of stamps along with some others like Hero Arts. They also carry lots of accessories like inks, paper, punches, eyelets, brads, ect. If you're staying closer to the University then there is also an Impress at University Village. Good luck and enjoy Seattle.
I've been dying to go to Impress because thier website looks so cool, but I haven't made it there yet. Sorry, I'm no help but I thought I would add the website for you to look at.
Up in the north end is where I'm at. I usually go up to Lynnwood where there is a cool scrapbook store called Lasting Memories and a stamp store that, of course, I forget the name of as soon as I want to reference you to it... :-) It's right by Alderwood mall, though.

In the Queen Anne section of Seattle there's Monkey Love. It was the very first real stamp store that I visited. It's a short monorail ride from the Westlake Mall where Impress is. Both stores are wonderful. If you get to Redmond Wa., there's Rubber Soul. That's another wonderful store. They have their own designs, but alot of others too.

Make an Impression in Issaquah (just a tiny ways from Seattle) is the best stamp store I have ever been to. Monkey Love downtown is great. Do NOT miss Impress at SouthCenter in Tukwilla. If you go to that Impress then skip the other Impress stores as they are just tiny versions of the real deal. Paper Zone is right next to SouthCenter Impress and is really great too. If I could only hit one it would be Make an Impression with Southcenter Impress a close second.
I go to Fun Stamps (by Alderwood Mall) because it's the closest to me...and the owner is really nice (she'll order anything you want). I've been really close to Monkey Love in the Queen Ann area but the parking is so bad. Looks like I need to check out some of the other stores in this thread...thanks for posting them!!
Ok, I also vote for Impress in Southcenter, it is my favorite. Second is Make an Impression in Issaquah - they have more "technique" stuff there. If you like to scrapbook, my favorite scrapbook store is Scrapbook Nook in Kent. Have fun!
A little off the beaten path of Seattle proper -- and this thread for that matter (sorry!) -- is The Bees' Knees Scrapbooks just south of I-90 in the Eastgate area between Seattle and Issaquah. Maybe a 15-20 minute drive from downtown. Not much in the way of rubber stamps, but all kinds of neat decorator papers, embellishments, etc etc etc for those who scrap. Or maybe those who would like to add some elements of scrapping to their stamping? Got the thread back on track. Woo hoo!
You HAVE to go to Make an Impression! It is in Issaquah (about 20 minutes outside of Seattle). There is no comparison! There is also a good scrapbooking store called "Mad Scrapper" about a mile from it.
i would suggest make an impression in issaqulah, paper zone is also located in issaquah, there is packaging specialties in bellevue (great ribbon selection and stuffs to stamp on too) issaquah also has madd scrapper (amazing paper selection!) and micheals is in issy too!
Is The Paper Cat still in Pioneer Square? I too vote for Impress in Southcenter mall/Tukwilla. I know I will be at Impress on May 6th. (All the way frpm Guam!) PS. I am from Kansas too and also lived in south Seattle. After being abroad all over for 8 years I am REALLY looking forward to USA and Seattle. Did you know that there is a stamp show at the Puyallup Fairgrounds May 13? Have a good trip.
Definately head to Issaquah- you'll be lost in stamps! If you head north and want to see some scenary and shop, go to Dewey, Inkum & Howe in Anacortes. Neat town, hop the ferry for San Juans. Also Stampdoodle up north in Bellingham. Right in West Seattle there is a funky stamp store, very helpful staff, called Freinds and Company. I walked in once and Tim Holt was teaching a class.
Wow... this has been a great thread for me too! I'm also from the Seattle area (but living in Hong Kong for a few years) and I had no idea a lot of these places existed! lol. The only one I've seen is Mad Scrapper in Issaquah because it's really close to dh's parents home, and the one by Alderwood mall because it's near where I grew up. Anyway, I'm definitely making a list of these stores and will have to visit them next time I go home!!

Make an Impression- Issaquah- It is quite the store!!!
Stampadoodle- Bellingham- the owner is a sweetheart!!
Impress- Bellvue- great stamps/paper
I have never been to Monkey Love Rubber Stamps in Downtown Seattle, but have always wanted to go. Just have never been with the right people to stop there.

I think Dewey Inkum and Howe is closed, correct me if I am wrong. I have also been to Stampadoodle in Bellingham - it is a great store and right next to a Paperzone!

Hi! My Dad lives on Bainbridge Island in Washington - across the sound from Seatlle. If you take the ferry to Bainbridge there is a great shop in Poulsbo it is called Rubber Soul. This is a very cute town that has tons of shopping. Also, the best shop I was in on vacation was in Bremerton.. The Embossible Dream is the name of the shop (great name). They have a ton of great and unique stamps. The owners and really nice also. Bremeton is about a 35 minute drive from Bainbridge. I think doing the two shops and touring around the island would be a great way to spend a day!!
Does anyone have a favorite place to spend their stamp/scrap budget in Seattle? I know there must be some really fun places I can visit when I travel there.

Drive a "little" further. Come up to Bellingham and shop Stampadoodle! Hundreds and hundreds of stamps. Plus all the stuff that goes with them.
And while you're here check out Treasury of Memories.
I'm visiting my sister in Olympia at the end of May. Any good stores in that area?
There are a couple of awsome stores in Olympia that I know of. A Little Bit of Heaven is a huge scrap store with a stamp section. I was overwhelmed by all the different products. Then the stamp store that I know about is called Paper Artz http://www.paperartz.com/ and I really liked it a lot. They have a lot of scrap stuff too, but way more stamps than the other one. For some reason, Tacoma can't seem to support any scrap or stamp stores, so I have to travel to find the good stuff.

I thought a nice, consolidated list would help. Unfortunately, I don't know much about Monkey Love or a few of the others mentioned in Seattle.
I don't know your itinerary, but if you can.....here is a great day trip!! Take the ferry over to Bainbridge Island, drive to Poulsbo (that is a town) where there is a small stamp store, Rubber Soul. Then drive over to Bremerton where there is one of the best stamp stores I have been to, it is called The Embossible Dream. It is small, but has a lot of stamps packed in. Lots of really cool arty, retro, vintage looking stamps. The owners are really nice too. PM me with any questions. My Dad lives on Bainbridge and when I go visit I always go to these stores. Plus the ferry ride over and driving around on Bainbridge is so much fun!
Hmmm.... Do you think my family would mind if I changed the visit to my brother in Bremerton, WA to a Rubber Stamp Safari? :smile:

The mere selection of rubber stamp stores, let alone scrap 'n' stamp stores, is OVERWHELMING!!! What IS in the Seattle water?!?
I've got today off work, so I'm plotting out maps with http://maps.google.com to see which places we might be able to hit. I won't have too much time since she does have 4 school-age kids...who are adorable, btw!
Ooh; if I can only make it to *one* scrapbook store, which would you recommend that's within Seattle's city limits or not too far? (We might go to Impress - Tukwila on the way from the airport back to her house...else the day I'm leaving.)
