Splitcoaststampers.com - the world's #1 papercrafting community
You're currently viewing Splitcoaststampers as a GUEST. We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
Do you feel you have to fill the whole card with stamped images, dry embossing, or patterned paper? Do you have a limited supply of background stamps, embossing supplies, and patterned paper and need simple ideas? If so, I'm hoping this will inspire you. And if you have lots of supplies, I hope this will get you thinking out of your comfort zone for one day!
Wide Open Spaces on a card will draw interest to your main image. Your wide open space should not contain any stamped images, dry embossing, patterned paper, or embellishments... and there should be a lot of open space on your card. You may use any images, colors, paper, and embellishments on your card... just not in the open space. The samples will help give you ideas!
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping!

Oh, my goodness! This type of card always makes me feel like I'm reverting back to my early days of stamping! heehee. Guess it will be a good challenge. Thanks, Jen.
Obviously I have missed something in the stalkers thread regarding guessing the challenge but now I have the tv commercial going through my head . . . wide open spaces. . .
Hopefully I'll find some time to play in the challenge this week! And what a challenge to leave off the backgrounds and such.

When I read the challenge, an idea came to me almost immediately -- and I couldn't go to bed until I did this card. My scanner didn't take a very good picture. Maybe I should have tried the camera, but it's late and I'm tired!
Okay, I'll be singing myself to sleep with that Dixie Chicks song... (Wide Open Spaces)... makes me wish I had "Best of Cluck" for this challenge!
Here is mine:
Well I did it...I made a naked card. I can hardly believe it. There are some WIDE OPEN SPACES on this here card called Today is a New Day
Thanks for looking. Can't wait to see the rest.

Hi everyone! Well, Jen, you certainly know how to challenge ME! This was by far the most difficult challenge I have ever done. I'm don't think I've ever created a card with ANY "open space" before! LOL!
OK, I get it! Great samples, Jen! I tried to do things similar to this when I had a card buffet a few months ago. Will give it thought at work today and hopefully come up with something when I get home (and hopefully I get home early today!) Have a good one everyone!
You know, while I was trying to guess the challenge from Jen's beach card, it occurred to me that there was a lot of empty space on top, but it never occurred to me that that was the challenge! Good one, Jen!
Here is mine -- it looks odd -- not used to all that space anymore, but I think we could all use a simple look occasionally!
