Default Calendars for CD cases

Hi all...I have some cases I plan to make into Christmas gifts but I am having trouble with the calendar part of it...I want the calendar to be on the bottom and a rectangle above it that has the stamped parts in it. I have seem some of these in the gallery...how do you do that???!!! I was thinking I could print the calendars from red castle and then draw the rectangle?? but surely there has to be an easier way?? Right??

Thanks,
Kelli

Kelly - I want to make cd calendars too!! I can't find the right kind of calendar. I have gone to websites, but they are confusing to me. I have looked in office supply stores, and haven't seen the right size.

I'd like help too!

I too plan to try those calendars. I use the site listed below to get free calendar layouts. I hope these work for that. Please let me know if they work out. Good luck Nancy

I got this link from Blue Peanut (SCSer). I saw some of her calendar pages, and they are beautiful! I haven't tried this site yet.

Hope this helps.

Kelli,
This one from our gallery looks like what you want to do. Maybe you could PM the creator to find out how she achieved this effect.

I tried the software recommended by someone on scs - http://www.red-castle.com/software/fw/printcal.htm and found it to be quite easy to use. It lets your format the calendar for a cd case or floppy disk. The only drawback for me was you can only place the calendar at the bottom or to the right. But I can live and work with it. Important thing is the format and size are correct!

The person who made the one you like (luv my dolly) said in her comments that she had used Excel. You could try that.

I wish I had Excel...I don't have that :(

I am thinking about stamping a sheet of white paper and putting a black mat behind it...that would be the same effect I think!!

Thanks for all your help!!

Or maybe using a black marker around the edge of the CS when you are done stamping, like a cheater layer?

Ok I think I got the calendars all set BUT now for a silly question.... where do you store all the 12 months when you give this cd calendar as a gift??? am I right to think that only one page can fit into the cd cover correct so what about the other 11 months for storing them ??? just wondering or are you stapling all the months together and tearing them off as each month starts new and keeping the same page layout for all year ... Please help me understand .. I would really like to do this at my next stamp camp .. Thank a bunch

I'm trying this out too. I just now experimented with the red castle free ware. To get approximately the size in one of the previous links I made the calendar part 2.5 X 2 inches. Be sure you use regular printer paper when making your first copies because it uses one sheet for each month. Next I cut each month out and scanned them onto 2 sheet and then printed them onto the cardstock that I will cut (this way I won't waste precious card stock and it cuts down on wasted paper all together).
Now I'm wondering about the previous post too... Will all 12 months fit in the little clips of the CD holder? I'm thinking you can use the thin cases, have to use the regular sized ones.

Try this attachment - I came up with a template where you can print 4 to a page! I think this is exactly what you're looking for...

The original document was created in MSWord, but I chose to post in PDF since the font I used isn't a typical font. This means that if you open the MSWord document, it just won't look right. However, for those of you proficient in MSWord, you should be able to tweek it to your liking...

I would be more than happy to share the MSWord document if needed.

Happy Stamping!

I was also concerned about where to store the extra months. I looked the case over and over to figure out a way and finally did. There were two little holes on the other side of the cd case so I tied a string between them to hold the other months in place. The holes are very little so look closely I would appreciate hearing what other people have done as well.

Hope this helps.

The template I shared fits the ZipDisc cases - NOT regular cd/dvd cases...I only used the Zip Cases...
