I got a few suggestions last week to do sympathy cards for the families of the Virginia Tech victims. A fellow SCS'er has volunteered to give cards to two families that are co-workers of her husband's family. Here is the information if you would like to send cards. Please make them out to one of the families and she will deliver them. I know that we stampers are so good at reaching out to others, I'd love to shower these families with our thoughts and prayers.
The info is as follows:
Nicole White was Junior in International Studies and German. She died in Norris Hall on Monday, April 16th during the mass shooting at Virginia Tech.
The other co-worker was a man who lost his cousin, Mike Gwaltney.
Cards should be sent to me and I will send them in mass to the family:
Family of Nicole White (or Family of Mike Gwaltney)
c/o Cindy McVey
15002 Gates Mill Road
Midlothian, VA 23112
Here is a third family close to an SCS'er:
A little background.. The Clark family lost their son in the VA Tech massacre. He didn't go easy.....
Their son bravely did what no one else dare to do... He saved several lives from being taken brutally, before his life was taken as well... This family is in terrible grief and needs your prayers and support... If you have a moment to send a card, please do so as this family is grieving a travesty in a small town where things like this just don't happen...Please take a few moments to make a card for this family... Thank you so much....
Please send cards to the following address by May 3rd to be forwarded to the family personally....
Clark Family

Please put CC111in your keywords section (and if you have more than one challenge use a comma to separate them) so we can find your card! If you need help uploading click here!
As always, I am open to suggestions for future color challenges! Please pm me if you have one. Including a sample is always appreciated! I will probably not respond, as I get several, but I save them for future reference!
Well, I was going to cheat and start a card 'cause I heard a rumor these would be the colors, but I didn't do it! I'll go to bed and give it some dreamin' thought! Great idea, Emily!
What a wonderful idea! I'll get started on this in the morning.

Thanks Emily for your compassionate challenge. Hope to get to this tonight after work and a trip to the dentist with kids.

It's so thoughtful and caring of you Emily to dedicate this challenge to the families of two of the students. My prayers pour out to them for comfort and guidance during this very traumatic time in their lives. I will try to get cards out to both families, if not today, then sometime this week.
Hi! This change is a wonderful idea. I am so happy we, (members of SCS), have decided to participate in this "giving event." Thank you all for helping bring some hope into the lives of the grieving families and friends of the Virginia Tech Victims.
Here's mine, thank you for the challenge and the time to reflect Emily. For the first time ever, I made this card in silence. Before this, I always had music or the radio on, but it felt wrong this time!
Great challenge idea! I've been wanting to make a card for the families but haven't had a chance yet but today will be the day. Thanks for your thoughtfulness Emily!!!
