does anyone know................? i have all of the old style ink pads in every color but the soft subtles line...i am going to become a demo in the next few weeks...am i going to have to get the new style ink pads to demo with, or can i use the old? any info is appreciated! thanks!
I'll warn you though, once you start using the new ones, you will probably want them all. I have about 1/2 and 1/2, and I prefer the new ones by far. So I am going to slowly replace the old with new. It's just easier to talk up the new pads if your customers can actually see them, but I do use the old ones if that's all I have.
i do have about 3 of the new style pads...can't quite remember how i got them....i do like them better, but i can store the old ones easier...i use an old cassette tape holder, it has pull out drawers, and stores nicely. I know there are the spinner racks for the new pads, but I have heard they aren't too handy if you are traveling with them...so I would assume that's not good for a demo?!? any thoughts on this? thanks for the comments!
I'm a demo and I have some old style ink pads and some new style ink pads. I like the new style much better! But, I don't hesitate to bring the old style to a demonstration (so long as I also have the new ones to show). That way, I can show the customers just how much better the new style are! And since the old style ink pads are similar to many other brands of ink, I can also show how the SU ink pads are better.
As for replacing your old style ink pads - think how many stamps you could buy with that money!!!
I do not like the new at all!!!! I can't ever close them right!!!!!! I just bought a bunch of old ones: two complete sets..If yoiu decide to sell the old let me know. I still need about 15 pads to complete my collection!
I'm not a demo, but my preference in general is the older ones, mainly because they're easier to open and close. The new ones are such a hassle to close, but I like them when I need a bigger size or when I want to do direct to paper. No need to remove the lid. So they both have positives and negatives, IMO.
I demo with both styles and no one seems to mind at all. I do THO workshops so I actually prefer to use the old ones at the workshops because people aren't always careful.
I'm a new demo and new to SU so all my pads are new style. I LOVE them and i find that this is one of the biggest selling points in my workshops. People see the quality and dedication to best design that SU puts into their products. When I show the pads, I get a WOW every time! I alos love that I can just toss them in my "shoe boxes" for demos and there is no chance of it opening in transit.
she demo's w/ her new but carreies teh old ones to the party for the guest to use for their make n takes. This way "new" stampers that don't know how to clean them won't mess up her good pads!
I got a great portable cd carrier that holds all 48 pads in 4 sections - divided by color family. It zippers shut. Awesome...I'll have to see if I can find it. I think I got if for around $20 online.
I got started stamping after they changed the pads, so I've never used the old ones. I think I remember my upline telling me that some of the colors changed a bit, so you might want to check up on that.

but if you get the new reinkers their shouldn't be a problem
I also have both styles. I really like the new ones better but it is a pain when you can't close a new one. I have almost all the colors in pad but I wish I would have been introduced to stampin spots in the beginning. I am just now buying all of them and I love them. Using them to demo normally gets lots of orders for them.
When I'm asked why I have different styles of stamp pads people are very impressed that I am using pads from 1998, when I first purchased SU stuff!!! I have a mix, probably 1/2 and 1/2, but still use the old style...use em' to your advantage!
