Default Will I love my Markers?

I'm so excited, I finally got the last person I needed to join my Marker Club, so that I can finally get them myself! The question now is what to do with them beside the obvious of using to color in images, writing, and coloring on the rubber itself. I've heard other demo's metion that once the use the markers in different projects, customers see how much they need them. What is that demo though? Why will I love these? I'm really having a hard time explaining to DH why I'm spending this much for markers! I don't really know myself other than I just want everything in the catalog. Help!

Here's one thing you'll love doing with them:

http://ephesian25stamps.homestead.co...technique.html

Good sets for this technique are:

Petal Prints
Roses in Winter
Watercolor Garden I & II
Fancy Foliage
Lovely Leaves

That's all I can think of right now. I'm sure there are lots more!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my markers, I use them alot. I use them to color images in, to air brush, and to color right on the rubber (mostly for flowers).
nuttnhoney.. You're avatar is the absolute cutest! And thanks for sharing that technique, I'll have to go try that!

You can use them for "thumping". It is a technique in which you take a light stamp pad and ink your stamp with it, then take 2 or 3 coordinating markers (darker ones seem to work best) and beat on your stamp like you are playing the drums. Then stamp your image. It has a really cool tie-dye like effect.

I don't have any creative ideas, but I have to say I LOVE MY MARKERS!! I didn't buy them, because of the cost. (Did a huge project for someone and they gave them to me as a thank you.) I'm not sure how I ever got along without them!

You will LOVE the markers. They make coloring in images so easy. You can outline a part of a stamp for some more intense color on the border of a stamp. You can color just the outline of the shape type of stamps to get some fun looks. You can fix stamping boo boos. They are of the highest quality. I reach for mine all of the time.

Default Hmmm,

Will you love your markers?

Hmmm?

Is the sky blue? Is the earth round? Does a bear poop in the woods?

YES! YES! YES! You will love them. Just do not let your kids play with them. Get your kids the smelly markers to play with, my kids love to get into my markers and draw which makes me CRINGE! If only dh knew how much they cost.....he would poop a brick!

You will absolutely adore your markers! Well worth the investment. Here's a technique that I haven't seen anyone else post in this thread...

Smackin' Acetate

Scribble onto a piece of acetate (4.25 x 5.5 to match the card front) with one or more coordinating colors of markers. Spritz with water to blend the colors, then 'smack' a piece of cardstock on top of that - glossy or matte cardstock both work. You'll love the effect!

You will love your markers. I use them everytime I stamp! I am missing a few colors of ink pads and I use my markers to color the stamp and or watercolor with the ink.

Yes you will love your markers. The easiest way to explain to your husband why they cost so much is to say to him "Would you buy a cheap tool?" Most men really do understand when you relate the cost to their tools. You could also use anything that they really spend alot of money on such as golf equipment or any sports equipment. I don't think anyone wants the cheap stuff. It never pays in the end. SU products are the best.

I like to use the markers for doing multiple colors on one stamp. Remember to start with the lightest color first and huff before you stamp.

Laura

Thank you one and all for the wonderful suggestions! I'm so excited now, as if I wasn't before
I'll bet that everyone loves the fact that you can reorder just one at a time now. Incase the kids or dog get ahold of it before it runs out. One more question, how long can I expect them to last? I do stamp almost everyday (no kids yet) and take my supplies to demo's.

Just a real quick note, I brought my markers to a demo yesterday and just showed them to the girls and they all went crazy for them! They all had to try them out and quad color with the petal prints set...then they didn't realize that there was an order to putting them back...so a word of warning...be sure to mention it BEFORE you have to sort out all 48 of them!! LOL It was a hoot trying to figure it all out again!
And you will love the markers... I became a demo to earn all 48 Classic pads...then I had to have the markers...then there was this and that accessories, and here I am still going strong, building up my supplies and loving every demo I have done!!!

Default Love my markers!

I think my markers are my all time favorite Stampin' UP! item. I had all the Zig markers when I first started scrapbooking, years ago, but the SU markers put those to shame! I love, love, love, love them! (Did I say I love them?) lol

I still have the old marker set, but I've used them for two years and they are still going strong! ;-)

I just purchased my set of markers on Tuesday and they are now sitting on my desk in front of me!!! I have used individual markers before (old style). I figured it made more sense to buy the whole thing than to keep buying a certain color if I needed it. Also, now that we have the awesome Aqua Painter, I wanted to be able to color with more "punch" than just water coloring with the top of the ink pads.

I did tell my DH how much they are  ...but he is taking flying lessons to become a private pilot so he doesn't say anything about the price of my SU stuff! :P

I, unfortunately, did not get the air gun tool before it was discontinued.

I just got the whole box of markers and would love to have the air gun to use with them. Does anyone know if SU! is going to bring one back or where I could get one that would work with SU! markers?
TIA
