I have never been to these stores. There are a few outside of Boston. Not sure how far you will be traveling away from the city if at all but on the North Shore is Absolutely Everything in Topsfield which is pretty big. In Westford is Ink About It which is one of my favorites but I am not sure how far it is from Boston. Have a fun trip there is lots to see and do in Boston.
Eastern Mass isn't big on stamping and paper crafting. There are a few stores here and there, but nothing that is worth driving to on a regular basis - very dissapointing!

You should check out this one...I don't think it would be super far from Dedham but not sure of my map. It's off of 495. I love the store. It's about 40 minutes from me on the North Shore but definately worth the trip.

I disagree! Both the stores Susan mentioned above are well worth the drive; they're each about 1/2 away for me. They both carry a lot of the latest goodies, a great assortment of stamp companies and have classes that sell out pretty quick; Tim Holtz seems to make regular stops for classes at Absolutely Everything and someone teaches A Muse classes at Ink About It pretty often. Also, if the CK Convention in Manchester, NH is any indication, there's plenty of paper crafters here on the east coast!
Sadly, I do see that several smaller stores in our area have had to close their doors. It's not easy competing with the big stores and internet shopping!

There is a relatively new crafting boutique in the Boston area called Spark Crafts Studios (2 years old?). Also, Ink About It and Absolutely everything are both worth the trip!

If you are in Boston (and can't leave the city limits )..
YOU MUST GO TO PAPER SOURCE! YOU MUST GO TO PAPER SOURCE! YOU MUST GO TO PAPER SOURCE! YOU MUST GO TO PAPER SOURCE!
okay, sorry for the over-eagerness, but this store is just too wonderful!!! they have papercrafting supplies, stamps, georgous papers of all types... so, so much eye candy....
here's the info:
boston
338 Boylston Street
Boston, MA 02116
617-536-3444
but really you must also visit their website, paper-source dot com (won't let me actually post a url here, cause this is only my second post.) Not only is it superfun window shopping, but they have some awesome videos on all different kinds of papercrafts - too fun!!!!
let me know if you visit, as this is one of my favorite, favorite, favorite stores. also, they have locations in some of the areas right next to boston, too - cambridge, wellesley, brookline (in fact, a co-worker/friend of mine who lives in cambridge is going there tonight to pick up a few things for me!)

p.s., Absolutely Everything and Ink About It are wonderful, also, but they are a bit of a hike out of the city. Also, Spark Craft Studios is pretty cool, but not so much for paper crafting I hear (never actually been there) - they are a crafts-of-all-sorts place (and pretty swanky, it seems), and seem to have a strong focus on jewelry making and knitting.

Men just don't get it.
Bummer my husband doesn't get it either but he would definately drive me to any stamp/scrap store that I wanted to visit while on vacation of course only if time would allow it. He knows how much I love stamping in scrapbooking.
I did look up the paper source website...looks like a beautiful place. May have to check it out someday.
I agree that the stamp store in Fanueil Hall is small, but I have found a few things there in the past. Black Ink is a pretty cool store. Definitely unique and I found a few stamps there that I have not seen anywhere else. Of course, that was a few years back so I am not sure how it is now.
Both Absolutely Everything and Ink About It are wonderful stores. They are very big and carry a lot of great stuff.
Wow, wow, wow!!! What a great store! Thanks so much for pointing me in their direction. We ended up going to Kittery, Maine, for a couple of days as well, and since we were right on I-95, I asked hubby to make a detour to this store. He willing agreed.
I got some great things at Absolutely Everthing ... some Outlines stamps, Karen Foster snap stamps, a couple of Hero Arts sets, a cute Christmas tree stamp, lots of great patterned paper, a Cuttlebug embossing folder I haven't seen around here, and some really cute pebble brads. The best find, however, was the Giga Scalloped Circle Punch!!!
In Kittery, Maine, I stopped at Mainely Stamps and purchased some more great stamps from Outlines, plus a template to make scenes. I can't wait to play with all my new toys.
I also stopped at every AC Moore (3), Michael's (3), and Jo-Ann's (2) that I could find. I came home with lots of loot!!
I didn't make it to Paper Source in Boston because the kids were too tired from all the walking around we were doing and they just wanted to swim in the hotel pool.
Your welcome. Glad I could enable! I am going to have to go now too. I have been thinking about the snap stamps. May have to check it out. Sounds like you got a lot of neat stuff.
I have taken some classes there and they are pretty fun.
I love Absolutely Everything. My sister-in-law lives in Beverly so it's super convenient but everytime I stop in when visiting the girls there are so super nice and helpful. I had a great experience there.
