I know that it's only $5, but I just hate to buy things that I won't use much. I saw one idea somewhere on a Loads of Love card where they used it to 'frame' and eyelet.
What else have you done with this? And no, I don't have the Alphadots set so I won't be punching out letters! ;)
I just got mine, so I haven't used it yet, but I mostly bought it to punch out my alphadots. But you could use it for a polka dot background or even use it for the brushstroke alphabet (I think they are small enough). I hope I will get a chance to play with it this week-end. If I come up with anything cool I'll post it here.

ps. I did see a demo where they used it for the circles in love without end, and then they used wireworks and crystal effects to make their own beads. Just the right size. So you could use any color CS and any tiny stamp and do the same thing.
I don't have mine yet, but I did get to use it at an upline meeting. It's awesome. It looks great w/ alphadots, but I don't have that either. So I saw it with brushstroke and classic alpha, and it worked really well. Some of the letters (like M) will be close to the edge, but it's still pretty neat. It would also work well to highlight a face on a stamped image or maybe a heart or flower on some of the images. People love to use the big circles on butterflies, and you could use this smaller one on some of the smaller butterlies etc. The possibilities are endless and it's such an inexpensive item to get to try and fiddle with. Plus it would be a cute size to make mini handles on the 2x4x6x8 bags and things. My call is give it a shot. I did and I can't wait to start playing!!! :lol:

At a stamp camp I had on Tuesday, we used Fresh Flowers and we stamped the center swirl on barely banana and punched it out using the hole punch. It worked great!! I hate cutting stuff out.
I bought mine to use as an accent that I thought I would use with for putting eyelets in the center!!! I just love new gadgets... Also thought it would make some nice confetti in little clear gift bags.
I don't have the SU one, but I have the EK Success PaperShaper one - it's orange. And I punched a punchie from mine, and put it on top of the example in the catalog and it's exactly the same! I'm a new demo, though, and I probably shoudn't do that in front of my customers?!
I am so glad all you ladies have replied to this. I got the punch for my alphadots and wasn't happy because it cuts the edge off. But these are some great ideas of other things i can try with it. I'm sure I will love it like all the punches.

I haven't received my punch yet, but I bought it so I could punch out centers for my Love Without End set. I use that set a lot and like to have the center up on dimensionals, but really dislike cutting out the circles (especially when I'm doing swaps). Can't wait to get it! Dawn

Another use for this punch is to use two of them as a closure, like on an interoffice mail envelope.
You would attach one circle with an eyelet in the middle on the front edge of your card/journal/project and attach one the same way on the back then wrap a string around one of them. Pull the string over to the other one and wrap it around. Closure. Does anyone know what I mean?? I haven't tried this yet but have seen it.
I'm ordering the punch for this very reason but, thanks to this thread, now have lots of other ideas too!!

PS **EDITED** After a little research on the web, I found these are called folio closures. Here's a pic I found...
I use the 1/2" Punch (and all my hole punches) to do the opposite of the corner rounder. Instead of the corner being rounded off it is indented. It's a quick and different addition to a card. Even the little indent from the 1/8" punch looks great.

On page 19 of the latest Stampin' Success is a sample done with Loads of Love. They used half of the 1/2 inch circle punch to make a frame for a vintage brad right on the edge of a layer. I know that's a horrible description, but maybe someone will post a sample in the gallery with that idea. (hint hint!)
