Isn't she lovely? My daughter did this when I asked her to smile for me.

Trying to resize:

If you have XP, a fast way is to right click the picture and chose the 'resize pictures' option. Click the 'advanced' button and chose 'custom'. Then you can tell it how many pixels wide and high. Just be aware that if you make it square, and the picture was not square to begin with, you might end up with it looking squished... :-)

If you have photo editing software, there should be a resize option somewhere...

It might be too large in MegaBytes besides pixels. If you have Photoshop 6 or later, change the pixels and then use the "save for web" feature. That compresses the file more so it is fewer bytes. My favorite digital web photo feature!

I have Microsoft Picture It!, and I went into Save As, choose .jpg as type of file, under that was an option button. I checked that, it opened a new screen, I checked custom sized, filled in 80x80, checked maintain aspect ratio (so it didn't get squashed flat), and saved it to my pictures. Then I came here SCS and loaded it. Voila! Ooh, I'm so excited, my first avatar. I'll try to get a pic of me, but I'm usually taking them, not in them!
