I'm getting ready to put in my last order before the new stuff comes out. Advise and comments please!
If these items are on the retired list, do I need to purchase them to "complete" my collection? Are they useful items or is what I already own good enough to wait for new stuff? Although I have many things from SU, Is there anything that is not on my list that you would recommend that I order (because you would be ordering it too if it was to be retired)? My list has had the following items on it for awhile:
Watercolor Garden ( I have Watercolor Garden 2)
Winged Things and the corresponding Wheel Stamp Around Wings and Things (I have In full Bloom and Stampin Around "Blooming )
Ticket Corner Punch ( useful?)
In color refills - 6 (one refill for each color that will be retired)
Table Top Paper Cutter (is this the best one to get?)
Water Color Wonder Crayons In BB and SS ( I have the neutral, EE and RR)
Dimensional
1 pkg of Kraft Card stock in 8.5 X11
I would like to order enough to get the hostess set tags so much ( To add to the other tag sets I own which go with the punch)
Well, I am ordering the refills for the in color stamp pads. I probably wouldn't have ordered them initially, honestly, but I won them in a raffle at my up - up's SU event. So, I don't want them to go to waste. I think the colors are similar and match enough with other SU color's to keep on using them. I use the Kraft paper a lot, so that would be a yes! And I have the whole set of WW crayons and use them a lot too, so if you use yours a lot go ahead and treat yourself ) Don't know about the other stuff....the stamps aren't my favs. and as a former teacher I never loved the older table-top paper cutters, so I'm not biting on that one.
HTH and happy shopping!
Jen
I dont think I'll ever regret having the ticket corner punch. I looked all over the stores and online and didnt find anything similar. This seems to be an punch that is exclusive to SU.
The table top cutter rules.....but, unless you are a demo and going to use it at workshops, you can get the Tonic cutter at JoAnn's and other places cheaper. And I use my slit punch to make ticket corners. HTH!
WATER COLOR WONDER CRAYONS ARE A MUST HAVE. INK REFILLS ONCE THERE GONE. PEOPLE WON'T WANT TO SELL THIERS. THERE ONLY 2.50 EACH YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THAT PRICE.

yup! ticket punch! gotta have it! love mine.
i am however waiting for the retired list to place my 'order of desperation'!
then i usually have a party in july to welcome in the new JACK!
FOR SURE - ticket corner punch and the in-color refills. Both are inexpensive but worth so much more! Plus, those in-color refills will be going for big $ on ebay later when someone else realizes they should have ordered some but didn't - so you don't want to be one of those people, right? ;)
Another vote for the Ticket Corner punch, but I don't think it will retire.
Kraft paper is lovely too, but again, I can't imagine it retiring.
The ink refills are good if you want to keep your pads juicy I plan on buying another Cool Caribbean so I have 2, I just love that color! And they WILL retire, so get any and all the In Color stuff you want before it goes.
The Ticket Corner Punch won't retire, but you need to buy it because it's awesome! I would pass on Winged Things (have it, haven't used it much). I love Watercolor Garden, but if you have a lot of other flower sets, you might want to skip this one. I don't think the Watercolor Crayons will retire either! And yes, I already bought reinkers for the In Colors!

Refills. I bought some too - one for each of the five In Color pads I bought (don't like Vintage Violet). I thought of it this way - what happens when my pad that I love so much dries out and I can't order the refill any longer? I figure that by the time I work through the pad and the refill, I'll likely be tired of the color anyway or something similar will have come out.

I think I'd get at least two bottles of reinker for each In Color (esp. if you use the reinkers with rubbing alcohol for the Polished Stone and/or magic Snowflake techniques).
As for stamp sets etc. I'm not ready yet to think about the hit I'm likely to take. Most of my sets have been around a long time so I would have to really not be able to live without a retiring set since my money will need to go to getting me current stuff from the new catty (so I can demo them).
I know I will get Serene Sunflower if it retires and probably Give Thanks (I love sunflowers) and Stay Tuned is a perfect set to use for cards for one of my SILs.
And I really like the Spring Bouquet and Paper Piecing punches so I'd probably add them.
the kraft and punch are great items, but i'm counting on them not retiring.
The stamp sets? I bet you find new ones in the new catty that you will rather have. Go to the gallery and view cards - that will probably help you decide.
Happy spending!

I just bought the ticket punch. I didn't even realize that it was what all the ladies were using on the beautiful cards. I wondered how they got the corners like that. Love, love, love it!!! Someone told me that it was the ticket punch from SU. I am also going to buy ink refills.
Being punch addicted, I'd say get the punch while it is available.
As for the refills, whenever I order a full size pad I get at least one refill for use in coordinating techniques as well as re-inking. I like the two refill post earlier as it is a good idea!
I think that it depends on if you are a demo or not. if you are a demo, wouldn't you want to save your money, after you buy the ticket pumch of course, to purchase the new sets?
I agree with everyone about the ticket punch (prob won't ret) and definitely on the reinkers....my reinkers are lasting me 5 or more years.... but did you thing about getting some extra IN COLOR PAPER!!! I'm trying to stick on a pack of ccarribean every time I order bc I can't imagine living without it.
Frankly I'd invest in that before I did a set of stamps unless you think the set is timeless and you'll need it forever. You can also wait until the list comes out to decide.
