My New Stampin Room!!!! (progress pictures inside)
HELLO!!
I am new here, new to stampin and new to our house we just bought in "Tiny Town" Texas.
What I am not new to, however, is the world of crafts! (mainly scrapbooking and the occasional crosstich or afgan project!)
SO! When we bought out home, before I found stamping, I knew I wanted to turn the extra bedroom into a craft room. DF (dear fiance) said, "Sure!" He's so awesome!
This "Craft Room" sat and sat, it got piled with random things, and neglected. 3 months later, still, nothings been done to the poor thing. (Many other house projects going on though, in my defense)
SO! Enter StampinUP! I went to a demo, then hosted my own, and signed the demo agreement that same day! WOO HOO!
So, this had lit a fire under my bum to get this room done and set up before my starter kit gets here.
I have included some "Before" pictures. That table, USED to be our dining room table. We NEVER eat at it. NEVER. I had used it for my stampin class, and DF loooooved having the room. So he said, why don't we put this table in your craft room!
The sofas are there cause it was supposed to be a TV room/Craft room. They have to stay. So DF (Jordan) is going to cut the legs down on the table so it's at a better height.
I am so excited! I already have the paint and bought some shelves today. HOPEFULLY we will get to painting it tonight. I will post more pictures if we do.

i love to paint and organize! have fun- now get to work and then show us some of your work! we love to see what everyone else is doing!
Love lookin' at craft rooms. Gives me tons of ideas for when I get my own (very, very soon). Congrats on yours and have fun decorating it. I can't wait to see the final result.

happy stamping!
I love your room! I love that it is right off the family room, you can stamp and not have to miss out on the happinin's! Mine is off on the other end of the house. But that might be a "good" thing. lol
I can hide all the stuff I buy that way!
OK!
I just taped off the floor and Jordan moved out all the furniture for me. I've got duster in hand, going to dust the cobwebs out of the corner. (they were here when we moved in. The house was a foreclosure. I told you the poor room had been forgotten.)
The next time you will hear from me, I will hopefully NOT be covered in paint, but the walls will! (and I will have pics)
YAY!
Oh! BTW, those metal cubes are on sale at target for 14.99. The ones that people hold paper in? They are a wire mesh kind of thing. I just picked up two boxes today.
You can start a "gallery" and post the photos there. Then you can attach a link here to click on to see your photos. After that, you can start posting pictures of your creations!

yea! what she ↑ said! do it, do it! we wanna see your space! hurry hurry do it now!
oh yea- thanks for looking at my 'rubber room' now i'd like to see yours.
I'm so.... jealous! Your room is gonna be so cool!
(one word of caution... those white sofas are bea-u-ti-ful! I'd buy a can of the scotchguard spray if they aren't already treated. Stamp pads can be naughty little things and often jump from one's hands unexpectedly! and not unlike buttered toast, they always land ink side down!)

I didn't even think about that!!! I had thought of getting a cheap-o rug in there, once we get new carpet (the current carpet is SO bad, I couldn't care less about it. We bought a very badly treated foreclosure. It's sad what those people did to this beautiful house) Hmm. The one sofa needs to be steamcleaned anyway. DF (Jordan) is a mechanic, and these were our main sofas when we lived in Austin. They had seen better days. I will scotch-guard them after I have them cleaned.
Does scotch-guarding them really work?? I can always just put an old sheet down too.
I know that I had mine treated "professionally" when I bought them, as did my sister. My neice about 4 at the time(?) decorated her sofa with MAJOR pink marker. Came right off with water. That was through sofa express when purchased... don't know what they used. But scotch guard is a good name - so...?
Also, today is Sunday and they have a rule about Sunday uploads unless you are a member of the fan club... don't be dissapointed if it takes a bit to see them.
You might try again here as you are over three posts now!

Kitty Approval Team movin' in to make sure everything is up to Quality... IMG_1521.jpg
(i don't like the cover on that table that holds the lamp. Too white. Any ideas?? Room is going to be the blue, with cream/white furniture and black accents here and there.)
The blue looks pretty. For the table how about a toile (it looks a little like the blue I see in toile sometimes)? or depending on your taste, maybe a geometric pattern with the blue, cream and black? I'd go to the fabric store and see what I could find that was fun!

Ooh. A black and cream toile might look rather nice. Hmmmmm. Maybe a blue toile. Or maybe i can find a small flower pattern close to the blue color that I like. hmm.
I think the issue is that the sofas are SO big and cream, the white table looks out of place. I think it needs to be broken up.
A pretty stripe would look nice on the table and maybe matching curtains or window topper? Love the color. I predict that when it is completed it will be a very soothing and happy place to create! ;)

Yes, I think the blue is very rich. What color/company is it? I just finished painting my craft room and redecorating it. It looks so fresh and clean. I love it.
Kathy
I better not show my daughter this thread. I just gutted and redid my scrap room and she claims my grey/silver walls are blue but I swear they are not. Your pics are blue and look like my grey. She will never let me live it down. Congrats on your new space and your wonderful DF.

It's from lowes. It's an American Tradition (valspar) color. A grey/blue I forget the name, but I will dig out the paint can when things simmer down here this evening. It is really pretty. The pictures don't do it justice.

LOL
The color TOTALLY is a grey/blue! lol And in the pictures, it looks a lot blue-er than it is really is. (it's a little grey-er irl)
Re: the table cloth. I found a blackish/grey tweed at wallyworld, that I will try tonight.
We will see....I will take pictures for the world to judge the poor little table.
Muahhahahaha.
I love that color! I get a room this summer when my son moves out. I'm thinking about this color now.
Why don't you bring the paint chip to the fabric store and look around? Everything is pretty subtle now, so you can afford a cheery tablecloth!
Got these at target, they were only $14.99. They are WONDERFUL. I got two boxes. Set up the one like it is supposed to be, and used the second box for the shelves. The shelves aren't all in yet. It got too late last night, and I needed to go to bed. lol
Here is the table cloth I bought. What do you think? I kind of like it! The black fringe on top of the table is something I am thinking about adding to the bottom of the lamp shade. It needs some black. IMO Thoughts?
Three times in the last two weeks a little voice has told me, as I drive past the Goodwill, Go in! Go in!
Three times I drove right on by, only to turn around and GO in.
THREE TIMES I found treasures for my new stamping room.
THREE TIMES did I convince the checkout lady to sell me everything for 75% off.
Before you, I place my bounty....
(lol! I am SUUUPER excited about the curtain, sheet (on sofa) and Kitty Picture. I went today and found these things. I couldn't believe it! I got out of there under $5!!!)
The frames on all the pictures will be painted black. The storage thingy on top of the cassette storage will be painted black, and use to store ribbon. I think I am going to leave the cassette holder (for my ink pads) the color it is.
Ooh, lordy you work fast! It's looking great so far.
My first thought when I saw your first pictures was to tell you NOT to cut those table legs down. That table will make a great work (stamp/assembly) table! Can you turn it into an extension of a desk? or have it become the desk and put it against the wall?
Love the cloth-covered corner table. Those cloth-covered tables are great for hiding stacks of old magazines or you might even be able to fit a smaller file cart or something under there to hold your business supplies, order forms, etc.
Can't wait to see more pics!
Oh...here's a great link you might want to check out. I saw this link on someone's blog (sorry, I dont recall who at this point!) for custom lettering for rub-on words for your wall ... like inspirational words, kwim?
