Okay, now what to do with the pastel legal pads from Viking?
I went ahead and ordered my monoadhesive from Viking due to the great deal of 1.88 for the refills, and I had seen someone post about the legal pads for $.05 if you ordered $25, so of course I was suckered in and bought 10 of them. Come to find out, apparently I didn't read the fine print, but they are packs of 5 legal pads, so now I have 50 legal-size pads here of pretty pastel colors. Got ideas anyone? They were so cheap, and I would love to do something really neat with them rather than have them just sit around. Help!!! Thanks.
I make covers for the little size legal pads, and they are very cute sitting on my desk at work! Cut cardstock the same width as the pad, but long enough for you to wrap it around the top binding and match it up to the binding in the back. So it's just like a new cover. You can bend the front (so you can open it) right below the binding on the front. Embellish and decorate with stamps, ribbons, etc! Also make GREAT gifts, you can match them with cards, envelopes, etc!

Definitely try it. I just ordered yesterday afternoon at around 3:00 p.m., and the code worked. Worth a try anyway....I believe you have to have $25 worth of items in your cart, and then put that code I listed in the promotional code spot during checkout. That is how I ordered them anyway, and they got here (in bunches). Looks like my hostesses will be receiving decorated legal pads for a long time....and maybe everyone I know for Christmas gifts too!!!!
I would go with the making a cover and decorated pens to match that will make wonderful anytime quick gifts! I would take a few off of your hands if you want to sell some? Can not purchase alot since hubby just forked out the money for my kit! May be pushing it a lil-LOL

yes, i would like to know the size of these, too. I have at leat one 5 pack on my ordert from now, but if they are smaller like I'm hoping I will go ahead and take advantage of having a $25 order in right now and get more; if they are any bigger don't think I have room for them!!

I just checked the codes for the adhesive, and they appear to be still good right now! It is such a great price.
Good luck everyone on getting these great deals! I figure I have lots of hostess gifts for a while, plus my kids have some scratch paper to write on. Doesn't get much cheaper than that....
You can also take them to Kinkos (or any copy place) and have them cut in half or thirds. Then make the covers for them (maybe with matching pen) and put a magnet on the back (or not) and make them "shopping lists, to do lists, back to school gifts, etc....) A little smaller makes t hem easier to handle.
Hmmm....I can still get the refill to work at 7:46 CST....code is CL7-62202 that I am trying. Not sure what is going on with it, but yes, definitely a good deal on the legal pads.
I use my large legal pads to stamp on, keeps the area clean and if want cleaner area just tear off a page . I just ordered 4 packs of them so that when people come over to stamp I give them a legal pad and they stamp on that... and at basically a penny a pad what the heck!!
Thanks for posting this info - I was just getting ready place an order for mono refills and dispensers. I added some of the legal pads to my order - at that price who can beat it, even if you just use them for scratch pads! I think I'll try getting some cut down as suggested for memo pads etc. Great add-ons to most any stationery gift.
Actually found the codes in another thread on this site. I am thinking I did a search for viking codes or something like that. Tried them, and they worked! Glad they worked for you too!! Always nice to save some money that we can then spend on stamps or something!!!!
Well, you ladies talked me into the Viking legal pads too! Only thing is.. they are on back order but the price is still 5 cents for 5 pads. I also had to stock up on the mono adhesive for 1.88. thanks for the great tips.
Thought they were going to be the smaller pads and didn't pay attention to the "pack of 5" - I have 100 pastel pads! AND they are big ones. But I'm glad I saw idea about cutting them down. I figure I can use 12 x 12 paper to make covers - I use a 2 sheet wrap around method - will have to for the big ones! Except for cut downs. I'll be heading to Tallahassee Friday with a "few" of them. I think I'll be giving some away too! And using for kids and to stamp on and ....well, I'm a bit of a paper freak. When my hubby got home, he just shook his head. I told him not to worry - they all only cost $1! I asked if he thought I went off the deep end and he said no, he knew I probably had some good reason for it. Just where am I going to store them for now, hmmm...? Enjoy the pads and thanks for the other numbers - I didn't have those for refills so my $25 order was 6 refills. I'll try the cheapie number next time so I can get 12 refills closer to that price!
I ordered Friday and they arrived Tuesday (at a neighbor's house).
The box of 50 pads, 3 monos and 8 mono refills (total $26) plus the 2 pound new customer catalog weighed 32 pounds! :shock: They must make their money on repeat orders with those shipping costs.
DH answered the door when NDN hauled the box over and he can't figure out what I could possibly do with 50 pads. :lol:

HMMMMMM maybe I should read all the details
Hello all! Well I was browsing this am and noticed that someone said the codes weren't working today, so I scrolled through a few posts and ordered 12 refills, 2 applicators, and qty 40 legal pads. I thought at 5 cents a piece, what the heck I'll order 40 (it's only 2.00). Now I am reading the details and apparently I have 200 legal pads coming. LOL Do you think it would be inappropriate to give them as christmas gifts?LOL. I guess I just bought a lifetime supply for me, and a few friends. NOTE TO SELF: READ THE ENTIRE POST. I thought it was kind of wierd when my viking receipt said I had saved 697.00! :oops: As I look back at the receipt they valued the pack of 5 legal pads at 16.95. LOL
Maybe MY box will weigh over 100 pounds. How am I going to hide THAT from my hubby. I will need his help. :P

By the way, I am so laughing at the 200 legal pad order. I thought I was bad! You definitely won't need scratch paper for a while, but heck at that price. you won't have to feel bad about using it for scratch paper or whatever great little gifts you can make with them. I had a bunch cut in half the long way to a grocery list type size and decorated the top, slapped a magnet on the back, and now I have another little extra for my hostesses. Super cheap too!
Phew! Thought I was going to have the highest number of legal pads at 100! My friends are enjoying the benefit though! But at a penny a pad - you can't go wrong! I bet Viking didn't think they were going to get hit like they have!
I finally had the chance to get onto Viking's site to check out the mono refill deal. I'm a little nervous ordering... I want the REFILLS for the BLUE permanent adhesive #62202 (just like the SU refills)... But when I go to Viking, it's listed as PURPLE!?! Are the purple ones the right ones?? Thanks for your help!

Somebody help! I can't find the legal pads that are selling for $0.05 on Viking. I understand that you must put the promo code in, but don't know which legal pad is eligible for this sale.
I finally got it! Yipee! The legal pads are on backorder, but that's okay, I need time to find a place to store all these!
I am laughing at myself too. I have already ordered the legal pads and just went back to do more...guess what...I ordered "40" which is really....200 pads. What the HECK am I gonna do with them? LOL!! Oh well...for $2 why not!? I guess I will make some kind of gift for my Stamp Camp.

I was trying to purchase some legal pads, but they are on backorder. Do you ladies know if they will still honor that price when the pads come in? It's showing them as $.05 each, but no dollar amount for the total! Shall I just purchase them anyway?
I ordered these last night, too, and they were showing up as on backorder. I think everyone who ordered 200 or 400 or 9,000 (lol) got the last ones!
I'm curious to know if Viking will ship these out for free, too, when they come in. If they do that, I'll be a loyal customer for LIFE. I'm serious. I got all excited about this deal, and I've already thought of how I'll use them for workshop projects!
