TLC110 - Faux Shaving Cream
TLC110 - Faux Shaving Cream
Have y'all tried this one yet? It is soo easy and produces such a FUN effect!
Knielson taught me how to do it at a shoebox swap. Here is her card:
knielson
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Here's mine:
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
And two more for your inspiration:
tmryal
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
stampinroo
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Here is how to do it:
Ink up a solid stamp, either with your brayer or just by tapping it on the ink pad. Take a small stamp (1/2" to 1") and touch it to the inked surface of the solid stamp and then twist. Repeat the touch and twist motion all over the solid stamp. "Huff" (breathe) on the solid stamp to remoisten the ink if necessary and then stamp it on your cardstock. The result is a beautiful mottled look.
Variation: ink up the smaller stamp with a contrasting color before touching/twisting. This will introduce another color into the swirls.
I would also like to thank JusColorado for sharing this technique with me last year!
Be sure to use the keyword
TLC110 when you upload.
BONUS!!! Next week is Daven's (as in the big man Mr. D!) birthday! Create a card for Daven using this technique. Details for mailing to follow.

Fun! When I first saw this, I thought I'd have to run to the store for a can of shaving cream! Can't wait to play, but have to get a hair cut first!

It is the *perfect* set for this technique, isn't it? It was quite the challenge to find some examples in the gallery that didn't use it! I'm looking forward to seeing all the different cards that are made with it.

Thanks for this technique, Beth! It was TOTALLY fun & SO quick (and easy!). I like using multiple ink colors. I didn't have to worry about the "line" created by rubbing the darker pad on the stamp, since it all got blended together when I "twisted".
