I have tried to email everyone that had contacted me about coming to the gathering in Oct. Well I really need to hear from you again in regards to those who have not sent in their registration forms. I have to have an approximate number for the lodge by the end of the month. They are being great by the way but ..... And I really need to do some serious stamping for the event and ordering prizes, etc and I really need to know what kind of budget I am working with.

We are in an absolute frenzy about what to put in our shoe box, what to bring for a swap... you would think the gathering is this Saturday. But, that is what makes for an exciting event, all the anticipation

Thanks HB! I know the excitement is building-- its only 8 weeks away and alot of planning to do yet! Kookie is coming over on monday to stamp and create goodie bags, and choose door prizes,etc... fun!
Can we discuss the fact that we should make FULL CARDS for swapping? I know there are a lot of non-demonstrators who are going and they don't really care to receive card fronts. So with our shoe box swaps please make them FULL CARDS. If this is being too pushy on my end, just say so, but I'm trying to look out for all of the non-demo people going. I don't really mind card fronts.

This is a casual event that Schrades & Kookie are hosting and I'm sure we are all going to have a blast meeting each other and stamping together!

Kathie...I just sent you an e-mail regarding the gathering. Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend. My upline is having a big team meeting in Madison that morning and then a Stamp Out Breast Cancer event that afternoon.
I hope you all have fun (like there's a chance you won't?!?) Next year I'll get to meet everyone.

Well I've already registered but have questions about the shoe box.
Tell me if I'm right or wrong.
Card stock for 25 full cards? Envelopes? Any layering pieces cut to size? Stamps and embellishments? Do we all bring our own adhesive, scissors and cutters?
I've never done anything quite like this before and would like to do it right. Someone please help and give any other advise you have.
Schrades - I'm sorry I'm a bit slow at getting my registration in, but I'm on vacation this week. I promise I'll do it next week. I'm such a procrastinator!!
As far as the shoebox swap....I've never done one, but this is my understanding:
Put everything needed to make all the cards in a box. You decide how many you want to do. I'll probably do 25, but you can do as many as you like. Then everyone who's participating swaps boxes with everyone else and makes the other people's cards. Provide one finished card in the box as a sample and perhaps step-by-step instructions so that others can make it on their own. I plan to write instructions so that I can keep stampin' instead of demo'ing. LOL! You should have all cardstock cut for all layers, all ink pads, stamps, and embellishments needed to finish the card in the box.
I agree with earlier posts that everyone should bring their own adhesive - everyone seems to have their own favorite. Shouldn't need any cutters because everything should be cut in advance. I'll probably bring my own scissors. I hadn't thought about envelopes? What does everyone want to do?
Anyone else - please add on any of your suggestions or corrections! This is going to be so much fun!!
Monica! I mean busy bunny, I will expect a full report from our team meeting that I am NOW going to miss. I was so disappointed when they changed the date for this and I already had my hotel reservations. Maybe we can work something out????? Call me! LOL!
I will let the powers that be speak for the shoebox swap, but I'd have to say I agree with the bring your own adhesive. I also would say not to worry about envelopes! We all have our own envelopes. But Schrades, tell us the rules and we will abide! LOL!

I think that we should all bring our own envelopes. I like nice envelopes. We can bring them with us and stamp on them when we make our cards. I think It will be much easier if we do it that way

you nailed it on the head about the shoe box swap! perfect! Envelopes are costly so don't worry about those! Bring your own adhesive ( i'll bring some glue sticks if you want or in case someone forgets)
This is turning out sooooo great! You all are the absolute best bunch to be doing this for! I am so glad we are doing this Your making this a piece of cake!

I just had some one ask me a good question! is anyone looking for a roommate for the night of the SCS gathering? If so give me a shout and I will hook the two of you up. Just so your aware each room has two queen size beds a sleeper sofa, frig, microwave, wetbar, iron, ironing board, and hairdryer. very pretty!
Ya and the beds are pretty comfy too I just couldn't believe how nice the rooms and the hotel was. It was awesome!! If ya can make a family vacation out of it. If the gathering goes till 10 pm it is perfect timing for the rest of the family to play in the waterpark since that goes till 10 pm. But you have to have an adult in the waterpark with them so need to bring the entire family or borrow someone's DH to watch your kids.. lol... I am still trying to get someone to do chores but I will have to leave by 8 at the latest if I can get someone to help my DH and the kids with chores.
Thanks everyone for posting all the information about shoe-box swaps. As a non-demo, I was pretty much clue-less!! Is embossing kind of avoided with shoebox swaps? I need to know that before I start planning mine as I'd hate to have it all together and then find out I can't do it!
I am actually driving up on Friday with my husband and three girls to make a long weekend out of it. Will anyone else be there on Friday night? I'm not exactly keen on getting into a swimsuit, but I'd be way into stampin' and chattin' with a fellow SCS!
We are bringing chocolate.. .oh I mean snacks too or not.. thought about making some chocolate rolo cookies!! Or else some other chocolate thing of some sort.. lol..

I got your e-mail and I'm coming. I'll be sending out my registration form early next week. Sorry for the delay, I've been trying to get ready for a stamp camp that I'm hosting. Too many things going on all at once. :? Once next week is over with I'll be able to concentrate on the SCS gathering.
Should we be labeling our shoeboxes so that the stamps and ink pads can come back to us?? It probably would be a good thing just want that confirmed from you.
What was the cost of the rooms again? Sorry, I'm behind on that too. I'm still trying to decide if I am going to stay over night or just head home afterwords.
I would also like to thank you for all your work putting this together. It really takes a special person to do all this for a lot of "strangers" so to speak. I'm sure we all appreciate you ! Thanks to this gathering we won't be "strangers" for long!

Hi Schrades - I LOVE the new you! (although, I will forever miss Schrambo). I'm playing Grandma this weekend to my beautiful 20 month old Granddaughter while my DS & DIL spend some quality time together. So anyway, as I sit here, away from my stamps, all I can seem to think about is "what am I going to do for my shoe box?" Which leads me to some questions...
Are we going to use only SU stamps and products?
Are we going to do swaps (ie - those wonderful little items that you say "I'll give you one of mine if you give me one of yours :lol:.

the shoe box cards are swaps but then I was going to do some already made upi cards too!I think we all prefer SU products but you can slip a Non Su in there if you want! hehehe
I know.. but I have to do something... maybe hubby might let me stay till about 8 or so?? Will have to see.. he is softening up to me being a demo so will see what he says by October... Won't stay overnight though, can't afford that right now..

I know I know.. won't know much till it is way closer to the event. It would be a blast.. think I can get off of night milking but need to be there in the AM.. not many peeps want to get up at 4AM and come milk!!! lol
