Can anyone share some ideas on how they store their collection of completed cards.
Right now I have all my cards divided by theme and stored in a large envelop but it's really not that practical. I'd love to hear and/or see some other suggestions!
I've seen them in the Rubbermaid shoe boxes, or just in a basket. I have bunch of those photo boxes, and am going to try that. I've also seen them in 4x6 photo albums. I tried this but it got too bulky for me. Maybe if I had only put 1 card on each page (none on back of page) it might be better. Good luck.
I have two storage methods for my cards. I generally make at least 2 of each card, so I can put one in each area: I use super cheap 4x6 alblums from the dollar store for cards to display at workshops. These do get bulky, but I like the way they spread open in a circle for display. I remove the cheapy cardboard front and back and put cards there too. For cards I will use myself, I use an accordian file with several seperate sections and divide the cards by occasion.

I bought some wicker flower boxes at Lowes/in the flower section inside/. I store the cards in them and add to it frequently. It is the perfect size! I hide that purchase along with my other lowes purchases (felt circles, tumbled marble tiles, wire, big sponges (which you get in the paint supply area, which I cut up into tons of little sponges), magnets (for tiles), and other Lowes items...which lowers my "craft spending".
I like the photo box idea. I am planning on selling my card so I have them in an old suitcase for displaying them. It holds 3 rows of cards, I don't know how many in each row. I just close the case up and take it to the sale, then pop it open, put a sign on it and tidy them up a bit. I got the suitcase at a garage sale for under $2.
I should clarify about my storing cards in photo boxes. I just use these to store cards I've made that I'm using myself. I have set samplers made to show around at workshops.
I store my cards in the photo boxes, they are the perfect size for the cards and you can get them in all colors and patterns. They even have an area in the front to label your box. I get my boxes from ACMoore when they are on sale for $1.88 each. They store well too.

My sister made cigar box purses last year for our craft shows and I have a few extras that were not suitable to make into purses so I store cards in those. We got most of them for free or between .25 and $1.00. I use them at craft fairs to display cards too. The cigar tobacco aroma permeates the cards but I love that aroma, woodsy yet sweet.
Like alot of others that have already posted, I store mine in a photo file box that I bought at Michael's for $1.99. They're pretty sturdy, and you can separate your cards by different catagories. The boxes I bought were decorated nice and they stack really well too!
Are you wanted to store completed cards (such as multiple cards to be used and given away)? Or are you trying to "display" them in some way so that you can look at all of your samples?

I take just the card fronts, take an 8.5x11 sheet of paper and I tape on 2, possibly 3 cards, onto the paper. I write to one side of the card the stamp set/colors use etc. I then I take two sheets that have been pasted up, put them back to back and place in one sleeve protector and put into a 3 ring binder. I also indicate what might be discontinued and try to keep those toward the back of the binder. Makes for easy flipping for ideas.
Cards to use I just put in a box and sort by theme.
I, too, am a photo box storage fan! I've lucked out and found some
dandy plastic/vinyl type photo boxes at T.J. Maxx in the housewares dept...they are super sturdy (unlike cardboard photo boxes which will rip at the corners if they are lifted incorrectly when full).
I would issue a caution to those using open containers (baskets, etc.) for card storage....a friend did this and discovered that the top edge on all her beautiful cards had faded....ARRRGGGG!!! She did not have the basket in a sunny location, just at the far end of a room......so beware - Mr. Sun can wreck havok on your card stash. After seeing the mess she had, I wanted to give others a warning about a potential problem.
