I just had to share this for those of you who haven't used them. I have been looking for a way to stamp metallic (gold, silver, etc) and I hate the Encore pads because they take FOREVER to dry. You almost have to heat emboss them. I hate to do EP or emboss right now because I just don't have the space to get that kind of stuff out in my current space. (All that will be adressed when we buy our house and I get MY OWN ROOM!!!!) Anyway, someone here recommened these. They ROCK! They don't take any longer to dry than a craft pad. I love that I can now stamp gold silver and bronze, cause those are the colors I got....Yay! Ok, just wanted to share.
I too love those Brilliance pads and they can be combined with he SU ones. I use both when I do that Brazen Brilliance technique. They are pretty quick drying on vellum and don't smear.
The Brilliance ink pads are great. I love their new color called Starlite Silver -- every bit as bold as the Encore silver, however the Brilliance ink actually dries pretty fast without embossing.
I've loved my Brilliance for years now and just wanna stress that if you didn't get reinkers when you got your pads, get them now! Part of what makes them quicker-drying on your project also makes the pads themselves quick to dry out! Don't be slow getting the lid back on the pads while you stamp, either, lol!
They are great though...the white is as opaque as I've used when stamping on dark cs!
I was wondering about the reinkers. I got my pads at Michaels but didn't look for re inkers. I'll check next time. I just picked up the white pad too!! I saw it when I ordered the twinkling h2o's so I got it too.
I love the Brilliance ink pads too. They do dry quick. Almost too quick to emboss, even though you don't have to. I also noticed if I heat dry them right away, they tend to rise a little to the touch. Otherwise they dry just fine too. Great to hear others like them too. Those and the Opalite pads also go really well together.
The colors are what I like. They are really pretty. Thanks for letting us know about the new Silver. I just have the other 3 metals.
I would recommend the Brilliance pads over the Encore anyday. I noticed the Encore gold ink when not embossed looks *dirty*. Brilliance ink looks so clean & sparkly un-embossed.
Does anyone know where to get Brilliance re-inkers?
I have pleaded with SU! to carry all the Brilliance Metallics + pearlescent colors. So far, to no avail. . . :(
I LOVE Brilliance because it WILL dry on acetate, polyshrink, etc. And, OMG! You should see the pearlescent colors on glossy white card stock! Awesome!
I own all all the metallics but the new silver one AND most of the pearlescent colors. IF only now they'd create a true pearlescent RED! oooooooooohhhhhhhhhh. They have a crimson one, but it's more burgundy/wine . . . I didn't get it because I'm holding out for true red with that beautiful pearlescent sheen . . .
They are WAY cool.

I found the Brillance Ink Pads @ Target in the Clearence Section for $2.22 last summer!. I bought what they had left (which was only 2 pads) in Galaxy Gold and Platinum Planet and have only used the Platinum Planet so far. I LOVE it! It dried quickly, didn't smear and looked great as a background Snowflake scene for my Christmas cards. As far as drying out quickly, I noticed their is an additional plastic "protector" that might help preserve the length of time you stamp pad is moist as opposed to just the regular lid, so be sure to use it. It couldn't hurt.
Here's a great idea to make your dollars stetch farther and still get lots of Brilliance colors to play with.
I bought several Brilliance reinkers when they were up for auction at a good price on ebay. I didn't want to spent a lot of money buying ink pads to match when I wasn't sure how much I would be using them. ( I generally use SU Classic pads.)
Anyway, I searched through my craft room and found I had some dauber duos in colors I never used. I washed the sponge ends of the daubers with a little dishwashing soap and water then let them dry.
I applied the new Brilliance reinkers to the sponge ends of the dauber duos and worked the ink in well. They worked great and I saved a ton of money.
The Angel Company (TAC) catalog offers reinkers for the Brillance pads. If anyone is interested, please email me at [email protected]
I don't think Michaels carrys these at this time.

I don't if any of you have tried the new pearl ex pads, but they are cool! I bought the silver, copper, gold, red, and blue and they dry fairly quickly. Just another alternative, although they aren't very BOLD. I will have to try out a brilliance ink pad just for fun! (oh no... another thing to collect lol).
Briliance Resist is one of my favorite techniques!!! I did try it with Encore ink and it did not work. I did this several months ago and the other day when I picked it up it was still wet, even though I tryed to heat set it, lol. Guess that's why it's called Brilliance resist and not encore resist, lol.

Thanks for the cool site. I too am a Brilliance ink pad fan. The tri color look great on domimoes. I tried Encore on dominoes and it nevere dried. I would love to demo with them but alas SU does not carry. they are made by the same folks that make Encore and
Versamark. I agree, the gold does look dirty. The tricolor gold, silver and copper is my all time favorite.

If you are near an A.C. Moore the Brillance pads are $5 each through Tuesday (down from 7.99) I didn't see any reinkers, but they have a better selection than Michaels.
I use my brilliance all the time and while I am a big reinker fan because of all the other reinker techniques they have been reinked due to use not drying out. My set is at least three years old and the black and red and copper reinkers are probably half gone(Christmas cards) and the white has been used for some possible contaminiation issues. The ink will dry on nearly everything. It dried on a chalk board and it came off a table with a mr clean magic eraser. The colors are equally as pretty (*but different) on light and dark cardstock. And they don't have an offensive smell.
now that they are carried by ac moore and michael's they are certainly worth trying with a coupon for an ink that actually dries as promised. They are what encore advertised itself to be.
I just bought a couple Brilliance pads at our local dollar store. They had 3 colors of those, some ColorBox, and some VersaColor pads too. All for $1 each!
I love reading threads like this. I'm pretty new at stamping, so when I'm out shopping, gazing and drooling at all the ink pads I don't buy anything because I'm just not sure how they will work for me. Now I'll feel like I'll have you all with me while shopping. Keep passing on good advise and great ideas. I'm sure I heard one of you say to me "Go ahead Barb, buy all the Brilliance pads, you'll just love them" that what a good friend would say right!;)
I,too, am new to stamping and haven't tried alot of new things. I am definately going to buy these after reading this thread! They sound wonderful! Must go shopping.
Brilliance has been my favorite ink since the day it came out. Something I tell my students is that when you buy a Brilliance pad ALWAYS buy the reinker. The ink is designed to dry fast (that's its best quality) so it's no surprise it also dries fast on the pad. The trick to keeping it affordable is to only re-ink with enough ink for the project at hand. Don't waste ink by giving it a good soaking that will only dry out on the shelf between uses. I also love, love, love to use the ink as a paint. Get out a tiny paintbrush and use it to fill in little sections of stamped images. Wow, does this give a pop of color! It has the shimmer of Radiant Pearls with the smooth opaque creamyness of acrylic paints. A little goes a very long way!
I love the Brilliance ink pads, but I have gone for the pearlescent colors, rather than the metallic. The pearlescent lavender is absolutely gorgeous and the pearlescent beige looks amazing with browns and coppers.
Every time I go craft shopping I buy another brilliance ink pad. I now have to start looking out for the reinkers.
I wrote on another thread about hearing that brilliance looks good on black shrink, I tried it last night and it looks amazing. I used pearlescent orchid, which is pink, and it looks absolutely beautiful.
My AC Moore will special order for you (think Brilliance reinkers) and they will even allow you to use a coupon for your special order when it comes in. Yahoo!
I am not fond of Rocket Red. It's always stamped too lightly to suit me. Maybe it just needs a good reinking ;-)
Rocket red is a good true red. Not orange or blue but really red. Perfect for santa's and holly berries and valentines and lipstick and RED. It is not one of the pearlescent colors though so don't be surprised. It shows up some on dark cardstock but not as much as the pearlescent ones. If yours stamps too light it probably DOES need reinking.
brilliance beige is another cool color which from the name you would pick as definitely one you could do without. It adds that perfect extra something when you need one more background color and shows softly (kind of like shimmering beige versamark on white or light backgrounds) and a stunning creamy shimmer of elegance on dark cardstock when white might be too shocking, It is nowhere near dark enough to be one of those muddy vintage inks but just adds that little extra hmm ecru hint of class.

I already have brilliance coffee bean and the pearlescent beige. I love them both and just ordered the reinkers. As has been said before, the beige is just gorgeous. I use it when I want just a touch of shimmer to a project - like a very subdued metallic effect.
