Thumbs up Holy Cow who woulda thunk it?

My hubby is the best hubby on the planet! Eat your heart out baby...guess what he said.

A couple weeks ago I sprung it on him that I had outgrown my crop room in our brand new house. Our house is so new our fence hasn't turned to that icky gray color that you see on old fences. We just moved in like 9 months ago. I told him I wanted to put up a wall just inside the garage door and take it over as my crop/stampin room. That way I could hold events there right off the kitchen. Now mind you ladies we built 2 houses before this one and then backed out of both deals. Homeboy has been waiting almost 2 years to get his own manly space back. Then here I am 9 months later telling him I want it. He got on the phone and called a construction buddy and started the ball rolling. YAHOO, but it gets better.

Then I tell him yesterday "well, the new catty is coming out and I really should get rid of my OLD retired sets since I will probably have new retired sets." What does lover boy say??? "why would you want to do that? one day you might need one of those stamps because it would be just perfect for a card?" After I recover from my shock, I remind him that I need more space and if I sold the sets I could use that money to buy some of the new ones. He says "honey, you will be getting the garage in a little while don't sweat it." I say yeah but the money... He says "so what, I have $500 of hot wheels I will never open." He knows I probably have 10,000.00 in scrapping and stampin stuff. DUH No comparison. I am too shocked to point this out. So I say I think I am going to sell them anyway and he says "If you sell those sets I will walk in on the middle of your events wearing short cut off shorts and a wife beater shirt with a beer in my hand and stubble on my face and say, l'ook at all this empty space boy ain't my wife one of the sub standard demos' in my best redneck voice". By this time I laugh so hard and fein on of those shocked faces and say "you wouldn't". His reply " I would. Save em baby you will be upset if you get rid of them and then want them."

Later on the same day I find out about the color changes. I call him to share the bittersweet news. What does DH say??? "You better stock up on the discontinuing colors." I go thru the going to sell the retired colors blah blah blah bit, can't use em to demo why keep em. Again my DH says "don't make me put on the wife beater and shorts." He wants me to stock up on those colors for personal use. Says that I can always sell them later if I don't want them.

Who woulda thunk it? Isn't he the best?

I would have though this was nookie related if we hand't been friendly in a while but we've been on a regular routine so no issue there.

Brad Pitt sorry honey, I know you left Jen for me but I am keeping this one!

Lordy, girl! You'd better ask yourself what new hobby he's considering! Your DH sounds just as wonderful as mine, but if my DH was THAT accomodating I'd be just a tad suspicious!

(I'd throw Brad back for that one, too!)

Default maybe yours and mine are related...

My hubby is incredably generous too! Congrats on finding yours. I mentioned last week that I was going to sell some stuff to make money for new stamp sets, and his response was "you never know when you'll want to use it." He also just supported me in buying cabinets to house all of my stuff in. When I told him about the new colors last night (in a very giddy voice), I said that I would probably wait to order them until July because I'm a hobby demo and I need them to count towards my quarterly minimums. His response..."if July isn't in the current quarter, then who cares. You don't want to have to wait that long. Order the new sets in July if you need help meeting your minimum then." WOW - does it get any better than this!

I know I am so excited that some of us have great DH's! I live in Texas, you can come play in my space if your DH is a bear. Grrrrr

To make things even better, the class I was suppose to teach at the LSS just cancelled. Normally I would fret because no mullah but I didn't want to teach for an LSS anymore anyway. I so love SU that all I can think about is SU and am totally out of the LSS loop now. YAHOO, gosh it is going to be a GREAT weekend!

Wink

We recently made a deal, or so he things, the details haven't been solidified. He suggested because SU makes me so happy and - - - makes him so happy that for each of the new papers and colors I get from SU he gets one hangin out in the bedroom session.

In my normal fun spirit I said "wait a freakin minute? My kitty cat is worth more than 4.50 for paper and 4.95 for stamp pads." How about for every $50 I spend you get a 'get nookie' coupon." he roared with laughter and thought that was fantastic. He knows what I spend. hehehe

He hasn't figured out that I don't spend as much as he thinks cause I spend my %20. Bawahahahahahaha

I'm gonna get lots of new stuff!!

hehehehehehehe

Lucky you! Does he have any single friends/brothers?? I'm just down the street in Houston and would love to meet a great guy. I won't settle the second time around!

Anyway, count your blessings. You are truly a lucky girl.

Hhahaha, sounds like me and my hb. He always says in his best "know what I mean voice" that stamp camp is coming up so I should be nice.

Yesterday when he came home, I told him all about the new colors and he says I better get busy being nice since July is not that far away. :p

I charge $50 for my kitty kat too. Just kidding everybody. It's playful banter between me and my hb. ;)

Sounds like you got a keeper.....good for you.

That is what makes a marriage! The playful banter. I feel so sad for a lot of the women I know that are so unhappy. Don't get me wrong, there are times like when I came home from Bunko at 11 PM and the kids were outside playing cards on the drive way that I want to wring his neck but for the most part we have a super happy marriage.

I did charge for him to play with the kitty cat, play money we had bought at the dollar store. Girlfriend, you are married, live it up. Oh I have a new red face thread idea. We should post cute little games we play with our hubbies. ummmmmm Oh or the time we played massuse and I refused to pay him play money because he touched private parts. Or when the mechanic aka dh replaced the dead battery in my car and I really had lost my atm card. hehehe

Ok am I sharing to much fun stuff?

When my hb is outside cutting the grass, I take him something to drink and ask "the gardener" if he could come inside and help me with a leaky faucet. ;)

I guess there's a reason my sister is always telling me I'm awful.hahaha

I know what you mean about unhappy marriages. I have a friend whose significant other won't marry her even though they have 2 kids together, been together over 10 years. She doesn't even know how much their house cost, how much he makes, she's not on his medical insurance(because they're not married), she can't even decorate the house unless he approves. I don't know, I couldn't live that way. I don't tell her anything because obviously she loves this man to still be with him and she's a grown woman so she knows what she's doing. My friend tells me I'm spoiled, I guess compared to her, hell yeah I am.

Isn't it hard not to take advantage of a wonderful guy like that? I know that if there is something I want, all I usually have to do is mention it in conversation to my husband. Heck, I ended up with a laptop for Christmas! This past weekend I mentioned how I was going to have to get the new Rascal Flatts CD and I had it in my grubby little hands by Saturday night.

Sometimes I even end up with things I didn't necessarily ask for, but he thought I needed them. A tool box. Screwdrivers (lots of them! ok, I did ask for those). A cordless gluegun and mat. A floral-handled, multi-head screwdriver. Small hammers (for eyelets).

Now as far as kitty kat . . . darn! Should I betray such a confidence as that?!?!

Seriously, I do know about the friendly banter. It's what keeps me going sometimes. Just knowing we have a secret between us that only we know. The hard part is now that the five kids are teenagers . . . and have gotten 'wise' to some aspects of marriage . . . kinda hard to keep things private.

I think husbands like this are really just doing what God asked them to . . . nourish & cherish their wives. And the good thing is that it rubs off on the sons and they treat their mom like a queen! The girls who win my boys' hearts will be blessed indeed.

Patra,

I am not dreaming ma'am. They exist! Gotta find them in good places though. My mom always said go find a man in a library and don't go out to clubs. I wish I would have listened to her before the 1st hubby ugh!!

Bekasmom,

Your right. Sometimes I feel like I get my way, way too often. You are lucky. DH doesn't pick up on subtle clues. I have to say stuff like " a wise husband would buy this perfume for his wife for Mother's Day". He says something like "oh a wise husband would, would he." Then he steals the little sample card and puts it in his wallet or something like that. Our kids are older too. The youngest always says "are you guys talking sick code talk again." hehehe, these kids are blessed to have parents who don't just love one another but like each other.

My assoc. Pastor once said the best thing parents can do for their kids is love each other. He's right. I agree with you, your son's wives will be blessed and I pray that our daughters will choose hubbies that will treat them as well as they see me treated.
