Was heading to the park with my kiddies and happend to pass a garage sale so we did a quick stop. I got three sets of SU stamp sets (two of them have not even been cut apart yet) for $13.00. Got home and looked in the catty and one of the sets were in there priced for 16.95 so I think I definitely got my moneys worth.
I got Year-Round Cheer, Two Step Mini-Messages and then a third set but I am not sure which ones thay are (it is a two step stamp that has two stamps to make a flower like a rose or a peonie and then two stamps for a leaf and then one little stamp that is the leaf and flowere, any thought?)
Well thenks for lettting me share my excitement. It is not the Turkey Fryer the hubby is looking for so he just won't understand.
Wow ... great find! Isn't is always nice to find items like this?! I went to a tag sale last year that advertised "baskets." Imagine my delight when I got there and saw Longaberger baskets!!! They were being sold for $5.00 each, many with cloth liners and plastic protectors. I got a cake/pie basket, large market basket, and many others ... 10 in all ... for $50!!!!! I bought them all and RAN!!!
That is great!! What a great find! I never get that lucky either. Althought his weekend they are having some art in the park deal so maybe I can find a deal or 2.
Well the only deals I found was Stitched Snowman for $1 and got a couple wheels for $2 each.. .my demo even bought some wheels there and a few ink cartridges...

I'm catching up on the posts. When I saw your post with all the Longaberger baskets you got for $50 w/ the liners or protectors I just had to comment.
I'm an avid collector of Longaberger as well! My best friend sells it, I bought so much when I worked. Now that I don't work it's a little here and there.
What a deal! I'm so happy for you that you came across a bargain. One basket (just the basket alone) could cost $50. Sure wish I lived in Connecticut.
I love reading about everyone's bargains. I like to thrift store shop. I found a K size stamp once for 65 cents. I was happy. My most recent find was a genuine American Girl doll in fantastic condition. She didn't have her tights and shoes....what did I pay? $3.48. My daughter was thrilled. She just recently started getting involved with american girl dolls. I came home and held the doll up and she yelled Kirsten!!!

Lucky you. I won't tell you what I paid for one of those new!!!!!
Years ago, my dh (before i knew him) once got a pearl ring...Birks, 1889, in white gold/platinum......for $5. It was in a costume jewellery box in an antique store in the interior of BC somewhere (he can't remember where exactly). The woman wanted $7 but hadn't ever met anyone who could actually wear it (it was very small)... his gf at the time was a tiny little thing who apparently got a great ring!!

Well, here is my favorite yard sale story. I was the first one at the yard sale. I saw a Creative Memories stencil.. "Oh do you scrapbook?" I asked.
"No, my friend just gave me that."
"Do you do crafts?" she asked.
"Yes."
"Stamp?"
"Yes." I am trying to be casual, but that was like a jolt of coffee beans.
She then opened a box of Stampin' Up sets. She was asking $1, $2, and $3 for them. I bought them all! I paid $35 dollars and I left with a grocery sack FULL. Yeehaw!
She had been a demo and had lost interest. I got Button Bear and a Tree Sampler for $3.00 each!
I asked her if she had more. She did and twice I stopped by her house and bought all she had.
I've been to tons of yard sales, but none like that!
