What are your LEAST favorite SU colors??
I'm a new demo and I just got my first large Hostess Order today. I finally broke down and ordered the 9 Classic Ink Pads that I didn't already have. Which made me think of this question - which are your LEAST favorite colors?
I guess I'd have to say Going Grey is my least favorite. The others I got today are Close to Cocoa, Choc Chip, Blush Blossom, Sage Shadow, Ruby Red, Garden Green, Summer Sun and Brocade Blue. Some of these are great colors, just didn't see the need for them til now. <G> I really like the fact that you can search the Gallery to find cards that use a particular color!
I do wish SU had some true pastel colors - LIGHT colors - like peach, for example! <G>

Magenta is my least favorite. I don't own the pad or paper.
Glorious Green wasn't a favorite of mine until I bought the c/s, now I'm Ok with using it once in a while.

I wish perfect plum and pale plum didn't have so much brown in them. I agree about mint melody, it's a hard color to use. Too light.

I don't think I've ever used mint melody either. It just doesn't go with anything I've thought of. I didn't like more mustard until I started using Roses in Winter. It;s still not a favorite, but I use it.

GASP!!!
You don't like Ruby Red and Garden Green??!! Ooooh! Just add More Mustard and you have my three favorite fall colors!
Double GASP!!! You don't like Tempting Turquoise??? I couldn't live without it!! Mix it with Green Galore and you'll have one really summery looking card!
Sage shadow looks really good with ballet blue and rose red. Oooh! Love those colors!

I used to be sooo picky-and completely shied away from Earth Elements. Finally FORCED myself to crack open some pads from my EE collection (not opened in 1 year!!) and now I am liking them more and more. I think I am least fond of Soft Subtles, but still like them for the right projects.

I NEVER use Blush Blossom - too light for my taste....My cardstock, classic pad and marker all sit, very lonesome.

I have 2
I have 2: Blush Blossom cause it doesn't really go with anything and Bliss Blue. I have 5 different shades of it in my paper rack! It's a different color each time!

I didn't like the teal either until I used it with Old Olive (my favorite) doing a make and take at an upline meeting. I still don't know how much I'll use it. I'm not wild about the forest green or mint either.

least favorite color?
I don't care too much for going gray. Been buying SU since Jan 2003 and that was the only pad I did not have. I got it several weeks ago & it's still in the wrapper. I like all the colors, but not too much of the SS except for Barely Banana, Pale Plum & Perfect Plum

My least favorite color for years has been Night of Navy. No longer so. I use it with Taken with Teal, More Mustard, Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise. Oh yeah, a NoN convert!
As for the comments regarding the Mint Melody, I never thought about it, but if I check, I will probably find every sheet of MM I have ever gotten in the assortments mix in my cardstock case.

I do not own the Mint Melody, Marvelous Magenta or Taken with Teal pads or cardstock. I just recently made my first card (using a sheet from an assorted pack) using Mint Melody. It was a huge struggle for me, but I got through it and really like the card! LOL!

Gosh--I feel like a loner. I LOVE the earth elements and rich regals. I was so surprised that so many of you didn't like those colors. I think they are fantastic. But I have learned each person has their style. Those are my color families while my sister is totally bold brights. But I guess we all can agree on Mint Melody--yuck!

I don't like Sage Shadow, Perfect Plum or Pale Plum....
I use all the Earth Elements the most, followed by Bold Brights (not too fond of Positively Pink), Soft Subtles and then I have my favorites from Rich Regals (but don't use all of the colors alot).
Does anyone really use the Naturals? I like the confetti's, but use White and Vanilla the most.

Any of the bold brights.
I ALWAYS have a hard time using those colors, I have them. The paper packs are still full, heck I haven't even unwrapped the Only Orange ink pad yet!
I guess you can say I'm Bold Bright Challenged!!

The only time that I have used mint melody is when I made Valentine cards. I used the set that looks like the conversation hearts (can't think of the name of the set) It looked very pretty. Don't use most of my SS too often except for barely banana. Learning to love EE and RR. I just used really rust and loved it. For the most part, I like the variety of colors.

My least favs are Blush blossom and Magenta. I agrea, Blush Blossom is too light and doesn't seem to go with much. I dont' know what it is about Magenta.
When I first started in SU! I loved SS, which I still do.....by the way, mint green is perfect for a baby shower card when you dont' know the sex. Anyways, I still like them, but I love EE and RR. Night of Navy and Burgandy are two of my fav...oh and Forest green...better yet those three together.

I would have to say I am not really thrilled with glorious green, going grey, magenta, mauve mist and blush blossom. I do not own the pads or markers for these, and don't really miss them. Mint Melody I do not use often, but as someone posted earlier it is great for baby cards, and I like it for Easter...very fresh. I have always love the brights...I guess it is my personality.

My least fav would me MM.... totally in agreement there...
then my kids want ot stamp.... out comes the MM and that is THEIR c/s.
as for blush blossom - I actually like it - if you stamp any of the seaside Sketches group in with basic black or in a lighter coor and emboss.... use the blush blossom off your pad with a water color brush! PERFECT caucasian skin tones!
I also like Blush BLossom C/s using bleach effects.
Smiles
Kate
And ladies - if you do a mint Melody swap - you need to keep it small - no one wants to buy more c/s if we don't have to!!!!!!

Well I have to say that Going Grey and Marvelous Magenta are my least favoites. But I love Blush Blossom and Cameo Coral together. I think I have used every color at least once since becoming a demonstrator.
But my favorites right now are Gable Green and Ballet Blue or Gable Green and Lavender Lace.

Ok....I am chiming in here........WHAT?????? Going grey is a must for water coloring and blender pens!! Makes great shadows and incredible for making images POP out! I was just doing a card today with almost amethyst and going grey. Used the grey to blender pen in the can with the sardines (in birthday banter) Holy Cow!!!! You all are missin' out one some fun stuff! Double stamp a snowflake use the grey then stamp another snowflake in white just offset of it and "BAM" you have a 3-d image!! Blush blossom is another watercolor must!
So here is my confession..........I don't have Taken with Teal or Marv. Magenta. I am not sure if I will get them. I am an 80’s child and they are a bit close to home!!! I have the markers…that will do for now. Other than that......I could not live with out the other colors.
Here is my challenge to you.....pick a color you don't know what to do with......and play!! Just play. No pressure. I have learned that those colors that look strange all by themselves merely need to get "set up" with another color.
Try it .......you might surprise yourself. I have grown to love my colors like I love the change of seasons!!! Fall is coming.....EE here I come!!!

I'm shocked at how many people don't like Marvelous Magenta. Funny to read this thread and realize once again...oh yeah...not everyone is exactly like me...LOL!!!
My least favorite ink colors are bordering blue (before I was a demo I actually sent back the 1st pad I bought because I thought it was awful!) and blush blossom.
I'm a Bold Brights girl all the way!!!!! Followed by RR. Like Lisa said - I have to make myself use the others.
BTW - also not thrilled with Mint. A swap is a great idea. If no one else wants to host, let me know.

I'm not crazy about Mint Melody--it's a green version of pepto bismol if you ask me! It almost makes my tummy ache just looking at it! :( But I agree, I should probably expand my horizons and make myself play with this color and learn to like it. . . I used to feel the same way about Cameo Coral and Blush Blossom and now I really like them!
I'm truly an EE girl all the way! I LOVE those colors! Although my Going Gray pad doesn't get nearly as much attention as the rest of his siblings  --but I'll promise to do better by him soon. . .
As for Marvy magenta, I like putting that together with Eggplant Envy and Summer Sun or Taken W/ Teal--it's a cool combo! just my .02
I can't wait to see what everyone else's least favorite color is!

Another vote for Going Grey and Not Quite Navy - Although Going Grey and the Elephant from "In the Wild" in a Must
I am a Winter so I a drawn to the RR and BB color families - however my best friend is an autumn and loves the EE family. We have a swap evening once a month where we can only use the other persons colors - Now that IS challenging :?
