My daughter has her own stamp set! PLEASE READ!
Please check this out! Melissa Bastow from missyb designs - designed a stamp set in honor of my daughter's fight with Leukemia! I'm so excited I could scream! It is available for purchase, and was based on what Alexa wanted to see in her set! I will be designing cards and other items for a non profit organization to raise money for pediatric cancer research. I hope you love it as much as I do! I'm am overwhelmed with joy! The first in a long time. For those of you who don't know my daughter Alexa is 6 years old, and on Feb.7th was diagnoised with leukemia. This has been quite the roller coaster for our family. Long story short I have been in desperate need to give back to those who have done so much for our family. I recently was added to a group of designers for this new non profit company called Turtle Girl Designs. All procedes from items sold from this new company go to pediatric cancer research. They raise money by hand stamping cards, gift sets, stationary and whatnot, and sell it to people all over at craft fairs,in stores, where ever they can. The treatment that Alexa is going thru is so exhausting and so draining on her. I have no doubt that if I had to go thru what she is having to endure that I would not be doing as well as Alexa is. She is so strong and so determined to beat this. She is an amazing little girl!!!
What a gift you have been given! We have a 7 year old boy from church who has downs sydrome and got leukemia 2 years ago and is doing wonderful. His name is Adam and you wouldn't know by looking at him today, what he has been through. The stamp is is great and I will be getting one! I will tell Adams mom about this, but first I will make her a care with your daughters set! Thanks for sharing.

Alexa has a long road of treatment but her doctors say she has done extremely well-that being said I'd hate to see kids who have a hard time. Kids with Down Syndrome are more sensitive to some of the drugs! Anyway-she truly is amazing and i'm happy you can all share my excitement!

This is AWSOME!!! I didn't know that there was anything like this out there. I hope you sell a ton of these and I think my daughters would also love this set. I wish you the very best with everything and I am so happy you have something like this to keep the hope and to help others.
Lauren, that's awesome. I met Mindy and Stephanie last weekend and saw some of their designs. It was so touching to hear Stephanie's story and the way it inspired Turtle Girls. It's a wonderful way to contribute to such a worthy cause.
My question is how do I play with them?? :confused: I see they come in a sheet of rubber...I tried the "how does it all work" link but don't see anything about it. Help please...so I can submit my order!
I too have just ordered a set.This seems like such a good idea & I'm always on the lookout for new stamp sets.I have 2 Grandaughters who will like stamping with them as well as I.

You can buy the sheet of easy cling foam (on the missyb page under products/supplies) that is sticky on one side and "clingy" on the other. You stick the sheet of rubber on the sticky side - then cut them all out. You use acrylic blocks to stamp w/ them - that's what th eclingy side of the foam is for. I HTH!!
**Also a note for those that ordered - missyb holds all the orders for 2 weeks untill she has enough to vulcanize the rubber which is really costly. Just wanted to make sure y'all know that it ships out after that!!

If you just contact her and tell her you forgot to add the cling mount she'll prolly add it on to your order and not charge you the extra shipping - she's super-nice to deal w/!!
WOW! That is amazing news! Congratulations to both of you. I remember users by their avatar and I always think how cute your daughter is every time I see you post. It's hard to imagine how much such a cute little girl has gone through. Best wishes to you and your family and congrats again on the stamp set, it's adorable.

I just ordered my set AND I managed to remember to get the cling mount, too! I know I have some acrylic blocks around here from the other unmounteds that I ordered a while back. Or we could use cassette cases to stamp with. Hopefully she'll get enough orders to place them by the end of this week! Go, SCS, Gals - order away!!!

You can either buy the mounting foam that is sticky on both sides (missyB doesn't sell it but it's not hard to find) or you could still get the cling foam and glue it onto wood blocks. That would work!
Oh my gosh, what an awesome idea!! Both the stamp set and making cards to raise funds with a stamp set specially made for your beautiful daughter!! I have tears in my eyes, not only because of what you are going through, and how you are remaining so strong, but I have an Alexa aswell, and i don't know, it just seems to hit more when you have a child with the same name, does that sound corny?
