I don't think it's possible to keep yourself from wanting more! We didn't give you the impression that we don't want more did we?! More is more. That's my motto when it comes to stamps.

It is called crafters disease. No matter how much you have you always "need" more. I just placed a $525 order and now I want to order more from the Holiday mini. It is never ending. I keep telling my dh he has to find a better job as I need more!!!! That goes over like a lead balloon.
Oh, baby I feel your pain! I just placed what was a huge order for me ($250) and I'm already wanting to buy more. The other order hasn't even gotten to picking yet!
I agree with Amber though....my checkbook always keeps me from buying more!
placed a 550.00 order last week. hubby doesn't know about that one..if he did he would die! You know i paid expedited shipping..and the box was damaged when i got it. It had busted open things were broken and fell out..and there was even bob the builder balloons in there..stampin up made it right.. they second dayed an order to me...and was worried i wouldn't get it til monday..so then they overnighted a package to me!
There is so much I have on my wish list. Luckily my husband just told me yesterday that he is re-enlisting in the Air Force which means big bonus. Maybe I can talk him into giving me $1,000 to place a order for everything I want. That would be so cool of him. I don't have any doubt that he wouldn't. As long as he can get the new "electronic gadgets" he's been wanting he'd hand the rest of the bonus over to me.
ah. . . I don't! I can't even type all the details behind that statement because that would be evidence and I could get thrown into the Compulsive Stamp Shopper jail. No kidding, hey! There is one and it is run by all of the husbands of addicted stampers. SO. . . WATCH OUT!
Don't post that on here! Are you crazy? Some of the husbands are learning how SplitCoast works. We are all going to have to write in code. Hmmmmm. . . I will have to work on a code this weekend.
DH knows about my addiction. Luckily I know the guy who delivers our UPS and he calls me at work to find out if it's a "home" package or not...LOL...if it's a big order....it gets delivered to work. If not...well, home is fine!
Yes, Lana.....we need a code, and a manual. Pronto!
Luckily, DH doesn't know all the abbreviations yet. So work some of those in!
And....to the original question........if you ever stop wanting, you're dead! LOL...at least I would be, because I never stop wanting, or needing!! SU keeps us happily addicted...

I can't stop myself from wanting more, but I CAN stop myself from buying more. Here's how I make the best investment without going broke:
When the new catty comes out, I do a "brain dump" of ALL the things I want. Everything -- as if I had NO budget.
Then, I go back and look at the list, with the catalog, and I mark the items with basically 3 different priority levels --
A: things I would cry about if they were discontinued tomorrow and I didn't have one (and I would use them even if they WERE discontinued)
B: Things I would LIKE, but can wait for
C: and things I might like, but face it, after a few months, won't care nearly as much, if at all, about
I find that after a few months, the items on my C list are almost not at all things I want anymore, and the things on my B list can be gotten from hostess benefits if I host my own classes, or special $$ gifts from somebody or budgeted into the family budget over time; and the A list -- it can get VERY short...amazingly so if you critically ask yourself the question with each item you "just have to have": would I be kicking myself if this retired tomorrow and I didn't have it?" YOu might have to go thru the list a few times til you get it to where you have items that are really A items and not just everything that tickles your fancy...
Good luck, we all run into this, I am sure. And it's hard to know when to stop spending ! I keep trying to plant that money tree in my back yard, but the roots won't take!

Lana: me again. If we all use DH, SCS, DD, DS, MIL, FIL, DHW(darn house work) they won't catch on. And never, NEVER, NEVER give him your password.

surely there is a 12-stamp -- I mean STEP - program for me SOMEWHERE!!
Yup, NEVER BE MORE THAN 12 STEPS FROM A RUBBER STAMP
Wait....you mean we aren't supposed to buy stamps instead of pay bills? Crap! That would explain everything! I need some time to think on this...
Mel - while you're thinking, you might want to eat some chocolate and flip thru the catty - I find I do my best justifying - oop, I meant thinking - then. Besides, as long as you pay the power bill and the cable - or whatever you use for an internet connection - so you can place your orders, you're fine! What else would you need?

I'm with you Pam. All I need to pay is electricity and my internet bill. Everything else is just....well, bills. Oh. And my MC ~ so I can continue to BMS (buy more stamps). More code...

Now, my sisters in rubber, think about it. Our DH's know that if we're not happy then they're not going to be happy, get happy or anything like unto it. And what makes us happy? Why stamps, of course and all of the accoutrements! So, as long as the woman is happy, the man is happy and he knows it! But, just in case Lana, hurry up with that code!!!! Kim
You just gotta buy more stamps...thats all there is to it. If momma ain't happy nobody is happy! Yeah..internet bill first, electric, and cable..dont need anything else!
Kimmery - in our house, "if Mama aint't happy, ain't nobody happy!" tends to be a guiding bit of wisdom.
Mel - I am so sorry you had to have Finance 101 thrown in on advanced SCS.
Lana - need that code soon, although dh tries to keep as far as possible from my craft related things. Been a lot tougher since he is 'between jobs' this summer. Luckily, he still has no idea on lots, and once that new job is set, I'm going off budget!@
Impossible to not constantly want more! I wasn't even that crazy about the new catty when I first got it - and now I am placing my THIRD order of the past four weeks! Go figure
Patti
I keep thinking that my desire for stamping stuff will eventually plateau...no such luck! I guess I keep myself grounded, for the most part, by knowing that, although my DH never yells, if I knew it would bother him I put it back or not make an order. :( It's very hard sometimes. I keep telling myself..."I want a new house more!" lol!
Stamping is truely a terrible addiction. Silly companies and artists keep making more cool things!!!
It's day 11 that's killing me. That's the day the UPS guy comes. Is it Thursday yet?? I'm waiting on a $400 order.
My $400 order is due to arrive today. Which is good timing 'cause Tuesday is my night off - no family responsibilites - it's all about me, me, me, and new stamps, new stamp, new stamps!
Don't post that on here! Are you crazy? Some of the husbands are learning how SplitCoast works. We are all going to have to write in code. Hmmmmm. . . I will have to work on a code this weekend.
If momma aint happy nobody's happy!!! It's only been a week since my last order! gotta place another one. if dh had any idea what i've spent recently..whew..i might be living out of a cardboard box with my rubber stamps!! what was the world like before rubber stamps! bet it wasn't much fun. I have to get another order together..it's killing me. LITERALLY..
