Default Which set to buy?

Hey all....though I started out a die hard scrapper, I am now a card convert...here is my dilemma...none of what I have made so far have any verses stamped inside...I HAVE NONE!!

I have

B&B Greetings & the new one...sincere salutations(?)

THAT is all!!! I do have whatever comes with certain sets...like the Happy Birthdays from hedgies & confetti cupcake, but that's all...

Now which set should I get(current or retired suggestions welcome) Nothing too frou frou...nothing religious...

THANKS ALL!!!

I also started as a scrapper. I don't have any sets for inside my cards but I have a word perfect file of scrapping quotes. I have move over the ones that make card verses and the I print them on card stock of vellum and stick them in the card. For those special people, I write a heartfelt message much the same as I would journal in my books. I find a lot of useful sayings in Pea Soup on the twopeasinabucket website.

Hope this helps.

Hi Judy,

Sincere Salutations is a new favorite, but I also have All Year Cheer I & III and Birthday Greetings, all of which are well-used. I've also printed verses/quotes I like out on vellum to use in/on cards.

OMG, my post disappeared... here I go again.....

I like the vellum suggestion but have a question for those who use this method...do you use cardstock vellum or the regular one? How well does it do in a regular HP inkjet printer? I only have the regular vellum and would hate to waste a sheet if it is too soft and would be prone to crumpling...

Thanks.

BTW, how do you mark a thread??

I definitely agree with All Year Cheer I and II and Birthday Greetings. I've used those often!

I also think Versatile Verses is a good greeting set becaue it's, well, versatile. I've used those sayings on cards for weddings, anniversaries, Christmas, birthdays, new babies, thank yous and many more that I'm sure I'm forgetting. It was one of my early sets, and I still use it often!

I have an Epson inkjet printer and have used regular vellum with no problems or smudging, though I'm careful how I handle it when it first comes out of the printer, just in case. If I'm trying to center text, I will print on plain paper first, then once I'm sure the text is matched up the way I want it I'll switch out the plain paper for the vellum.

It's hard to tell it's vellum, but here are the links to a couple cards in my gallery using it:

Heather, thanks for posting those links to your cards! they are beautiful and I now have the courage to try it. I'll be on the look out for great greetings and will have my printer primed and ready.

Again, thanks!

I have an HP inkjet printer and I put vellum through it all the time. I really love doing that!! Just made 75 invitations to a silver wedding anniversary this way...even printed a picture on the vellum. No problem!! However, I didn't use SU vellum. I bought in bulk at the local Kelly Paper. And, there is another source...Paper Direct...that has inkjet compatible vellum and then some that they say is only laser compatible. So...do ask SU if their vellum is inkjet compatible. And, I have also used different weights of the vellum...from cardtock weight to the lighter weight. Usually when I use the lighter weight, I put a sheet of regular printer paper between the sheets of vellum,

Boy I got 'windy'....but, HTH

Default Cheery Chat

If the printing off the computer doesn't work.. I have found that Cheery Chat is a really good one to have. I didn't think I would use it as much as I have but I really do like it..

When printing on vellum, set your print properties to 'transparency'.

I love the Versatile Verses set. I use it all the time. I bring ot to workshops for my customers to use and most people end up buying it. It makes your card seem more?-professional I guess. Good Luck. I also love All Year Cheer 1.

I agree with Jenmouer! I love Cherry Chat! I don't have it, but it's on my wish list. A Greeting for All Reasons is my favorite word set that I have. I'm a SU! demo, and it's the most popular set that I've sold. Good luck with your decision!

I love the thank you and birthday sets. because they have something for the outside and inside. And I really love Elegant Greetings it really makes a card look very elegant, especially if you emboss it. Versatile Versees is also great for inside cards. Oh heck I love them all.

I also like cheery chat, but I don't think it will be in the next catalog. If you are a demo you may want to wait and see, If you're not a demo it's a great set.

SINCERE SALUTATIONS!!!!

This is my absolute FAVORITE word set!!!

I have several of the retired word sets, and while I like them, even if they weren't retired, Sincere Salutations would be my favorite. They are so versatle (sp) and go so well with every kind of card you could make - from elegant to funny.
