I just finished entering all my stamp sets into a file with the name of the set, where it is located, and how much it cost me. Holy flying cows!!!!! I have spent $3,893 just on stamps before tax and shipping in just two years!!!!!      Is there really not a support group out there for us?????? I think my blood pressure went up a little!
I really don't want to know. I'm comitted to a stamp camp at $30. a month, but usually spend at least 50. That doesn't count what I've spent outside of SU and I'm not a demo. I have a whole wall in my dining room that's a desk, shelves, and a cabinet full of draws that are loaded with stuff. I think I'm addicted! LOL
LOL  I am sure I am not far behind you. It has only been a year for me.... but I am probably half way there!! I can not even begin to think about it...
OMG! I have over 3000 stamps and goodness knows how many tools and supplies to go with them. I REALLY don't want to know how much money I've spent over the years on this. I just like to keep repeating, "It's cheaper than therapy!"
If you enjoy stamping and are not diverting money from your family's well being, does it really matter how much you spend? I have found that since I have started stamping and scrapbooking, I am much happier because I have a diversion from the stresses in my life. I know I have spent thousands, but I can financially and emotionally afford it. I think I am easier to live with.

I can't answer that question--I don't want to know. If I plead ignorance then maybe I don't have to admit it to my DH and then I don't have to run for my life in fear of my DH's reaction and my possible doom
Please OH Please, don't let my husband see this thread. I don't want him to start asking questions.....I'm gonna have to start hiding things. I guess we are probably even, as he spends money on sports stuff, games and golf!

My sisters tell their kids when they get a card from me to enjoy it...it's a $40.00 card. Just a guestamit. i dare not add it all up, but I do have it cataloged in a binder for insurance reasons.
Ha, ha! I just made the same type of database and came up with the same general figure if you figure in the Canadian exchange rate  I was surprised, too!
Oh, and I've been a demo for 2 years, also.
You are brave. I'm not sure I really want to know. Just counted up the SU stamp sets and there's over 60 of them sitting on the shelf and there's a new one on its way. I'm sure I'd go into shock if I added up all the SU, Michaels, ACMoore, JoAnns, CM, Wal-Mart and online purchases I've managed to collect over the last four years. I should admit to having one or two shoeboxes in the craft room with all my crafting receipts in them. One of these days I'll be brave enough to add it all up. Those darn coupons and sales get me every time.
OK I said you shouldn't do this to yourself. But since a few people have mentioned insurance I guess it is a good idea. OMG!!! This is going to be such a big job. Anyone want to come and help? Also can someone keep the tally at their house so my DH doesn't see it? LOL!!!
At this point in time, I have no intention of determing how much I have spent over the 5 and 1/2 years that I have been stamping . I would guess more than you have
Right as we speak I have three large SU empty boxes that orders come in full of sets that have been retired that I plan on trying to sell. That does not include the retired ones that I just can't bring myself to part with. They happen to take up two shelves in my craft room. Now the current sets, they take up four full shelves, not including the ones that are on my work space being used

Could this possibly be the reason my husband left me in Dec.? And, all the time I thought it was another woman! I started this madness just this past Aug. and I dare not even try to calculate how much I have spent. But, it has been very therapeutic the past few months, so I would say it is cheaper than a professional counselor!
When we were doing ins stuff dh was on the phone with the company & just yells "hey much is your craft crap worth" I told him he better not call it that, then he better leave the room while the insurance agent & I talk confidentially I'm definately waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay up there
I don't think I want to know. I'm sure it is close to that or more. We were working on re-doing our wills with our lawyer yesterday and my hubby asked if we should put in there a specific bequest for my stamp collection. LOL I should probably catalog it for insurance - that is a good idea.
In five and a half years. $ 25000.00 dollars is a low esimate. I spent $7000.00 in the first year and a half. OUY!!! Thank God for a great accountant!!!

I logged my stamps and SU sets into an Excel database about 2 1/2 years ago. At that time I had ~ $7,000 in stamps (over about 6 years). Obviously after that very rude awakening, I've opted to enjoy them and not log them anymore (don't need any evidence!!!). I guess it really is cheaper than therapy...and definitely more fun!

It would take way more than chocolate to get a number out of me. After seven years of stamping and at least 300 SU! sets - not to mention CS, ink, and embellishments.... no way!
But not only is it cheaper than therapy,
it's ART.
If I weren't stamping, I'd be trying to paint or do photography or some other hobby... so I'd still be spending money!!! LOL

I would venture to say that I have at least $3000 in stamp sets not to mention the extra stamps I have purchased elsewhere and all the goodies and paper it takes to stamp GOSH how much are the stamp pads if you get them all that is a pretty penny!! ANYWAY I would be afraid to add it all up!
